Wonderful place on the lake. I used to spend every summer at the lakes in Maine as a child and it was amazing getting to share the experience with my children. The host was very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay again!

Liked: Location
The location is very nice – peaceful - and the parking was easy to access, entrance to the house was easy. The accommodations were as described on the VRBO site. Looking over the review from July 2025, we found that all of the concerns included in that review were still existing (copper tubing, light switch, sign in sink, electrical outlets, etc.). When we arrived, we found some areas that were needed cleaning: the refrigerator, the counter next to the stove, the kitchen floor, the table, the ceiling fan and the TV table. The bathroom was clean and the water system in there worked with no problems. The working laundry was a nice addition. There were fresh sheets on the bed and towels for bathing. It was nice to sit on the deck and enjoy nature.

Thank you for your review. The cleaning person has been replaced as she said she has taken on too many cleaning jobs and hasn't enough time. As for the counters I washed those down before you came in, that I don't understand.
Your concerns about a disconnected pipe and sink with a disconnected garbage disposal will be there next year also.
I have since put a note above every light switch describing just what it turns on or off.
Not everyone who enjoys the place leaves a review, but they do leave me notes on how much they've enjoyed their stay.
Had such an amazing stay! The location was amazing! Loved being right on the lake but also still only a 20 minute drive from Portland. We had no problems checking in or out. The only thing I will say is that the kitchen supplies are a little lacking. It would be great to have a couple more cutting boards and a bottle opener.
We loved the lake house. It was so peaceful and quiet. The lake was beautiful. We floated in our tubes, sat in our camp chairs that we brought and read our books. My favorite things were hearing and seeing the loons, the pileated woodpeckers at the feeders and the magical pathway walk down to the lake. My son lives about 15 minutes away and it was so nice to be close by to him, Portland and Windham. We enjoyed eating dinner out on the deck as well.

NOY WHAT ONE EXPECTS FOR THE PRICE
This VRBO rental needs work. The living room has a propane line that is disconnected and behind a bench. At least one switch has a clothespin on it. I guess it Eans do not use. What happens if you do? The kitchen has cracked tile. The kitchen sink has a sign in one half of it that says, "Do nt use this sink" The fan in the living room is caked with dust. The bathtub/shower has no non slip, so prepare yourself. It appears the kitchen and bathroom ARE NOT GFCI protected. There is no fire extinguisher despite the fact 3 lights are very close to the kitchen window valance curtains. the trio of over the sink lights are controlled by plugging the cord into a wall socket. (Water and electricity do not mix well) The back deck stairs are blocked with a lawn chair. I guess that means do not use the stairs. The back porch light is rusted and missing "beauty ring" parts. The bed collapsed on our first night. ( We just laid down on it after a cross country trip) The lights to the bedrooms require you to traverse the dark bedroom to find a plugged in lamp and turn it on. A cable is stapled into the bedroom floor. (Very tacky) So, for the price per night, which has since increased, this is what you get. I contacted VRBO because this home should not be rental eligible. It is unsafe, dirty and it is evident that no money has been spent to improve the joint.
