My sister and I own this house. It used to belong to our parents who have passed. We have upgraded and maintained it and want this beautiful gift our parent gave us to get some use. We hope our guests build memories in this house like we have. See the section "What makes your property unique" below.
Why they chose this property
You will find this established neighborhood quiet and peaceful. It has sidewalks that connect to the Rehoboth Beach "avenue" and other streets that take you to the beach and boardwalk. The house is just over 3 blocks back from the beach. It also provides a means for morning or evening walks with the family or for exercise! If you bike ride, it is nice to ride bikes around the neighborhood as well. It is pretty neat to look at all the houses in the neighborhood and see how the styles have transitioned over the years. There are no two house completely alike!
What makes this property unique
Our parents built this home in 1976. For many years, it served as our family’s beach getaway—first as a second home, then as their full-time residence after retirement. It’s a place filled with wonderful memories of summers in Rehoboth and countless family gatherings.
Our mom was an elementary school teacher, and every summer, as soon as school was out, she brought us here to stay until the new school year started. Our dad would join us on weekends, making the trip from Maryland every Friday after work.
This home was truly our father’s pride and joy. Over the years, he enclosed the original screened-in porch and added what we affectionately call the “war room,” located just off the kitchen. A proud Korean War veteran, our dad was deeply involved in the Korean War Veterans Association (KWVA), even serving as its National President. He played a role in the creation of the Korean War Memorial in Washington, D.C. and was honored at the White House by President and Mrs. Clinton. The war room displayed many of his treasured KWVA awards and memorabilia, many gifted to him by the Korean government. You will find a few of these things on the wall in this room.
Though our beloved parents have since passed, their spirit remains in this home. Because it wasn’t being used much at all, we decided to open it up to guests so others can experience its charm and make lasting memories of their own.
You’ll notice a few pictures of them—these serve as a small tribute to the people who made this house so special. We hope you find this little bit of this home's history interesting.
We’ve done our best to ensure the house is comfortable for you. You’ll find most everything you need in the kitchen, pantry, and closets for a relaxing stay. We truly hope you enjoy your time here and all that Rehoboth Beach has to offer.
