About this property

Get Away From It All At This Mountain Paradise

Come stay at this secluded ranch cabin in the Bitterroot Valley.

Walk out the door and start hiking in the shade of towering Ponderosa pines on the 1,375 acres of private, unspoiled mountain terrain. Or arrange a guided horseback tour of the ranch.

Fish for native cutthroat and brook trout steps away in the pristine, snow-fed Willow Creek. Or fall asleep listening to the sounds of it rushing by.

Relax under the pergola on the expansive, wrap-around porch, sipping your favorite beverage in the Adirondack chairs, watching the sun set behind the Bitterroot Range.

Drink your morning coffee in front of the cozy, gas fireplace.

All this awaits you at the Robinson Ranch Cabin.

The 800-square-foot cabin features two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, as well as a spacious loft that sleeps two.

A full kitchen, dining area and comfortable living room under a vaulted 16-foot ceiling complete the interior.

Grill your favorite meal on the big gas barbecue on the back porch, all while watching Willow Creek tumble by.

Slow speed wifi available with limited connectivity.

If you’d like to venture farther afield, use the cabin as a base to explore the Bitterroot Valley.

Pristine mountain lakes are within a short drive and hike in the hundreds of thousands of acres of national forest up Willow Creek Road to the east.

High-mountain hiking opportunities abound in the Bitterroot Range on the west side of the valley.
Or arrange a guided fly-fishing float on the Bitterroot River, one of Montana’s best trout streams.

Tour the quaint town of Hamilton, with its local shops, artwork and one-of-a-kind eateries. Or treat yourself to a frosty beverage at one of the craft breweries in town.

If you come in the winter, you can hit the slopes at Lost Trail or sled or snowshoe near the cabin.

In short, come enjoy the Montana mountains, in the mountains.

We look forward to having you.

About the host

Hosted by The Robinson Ranch Cabin

Host profile image
We came from Chicago - city slickers - to raise our kids in the west. We ran the property as a ranch for many years, raising beef cattle, milking cows, riding horses, cutting timber and raising a garden we harvested for our own meals. John Robinson, the ranch owner, continues to live a short distance up road from the cabin in the original ranch house, and two of his children have built homes and reside on the ranch as well, a testament to the allure and magic of this special place we hope to be able to share with you.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property to raise our kids and experience the outdoors as a family. We accomplished that and the tradition has carried on with our grandkids. Willow Creek runs through the ranch and we are located next to U.S. Forest Service property as well as 2,000-acre parcel of state land that is managed as elk habitat. Nearby Forest Service trails provide hiking and fishing opportunities at high mountain lakes. You can also relax on the deck and listen to the sound of Willow Creek as it runs by. If you are looking for outdoor adventure or just want to enjoy the comfort of the cabin, this is the place for you.

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is located in a mountain setting on an 1,375-acre ranch. It offers a secluded, quiet setting. If you enjoy the mountains, whether viewing them from the comfort of the cabin or getting out in them, you should enjoy your stay here.
