About this property
Modern & Spacious Apartment in Quito’s Historic San Marcos - 3BR & 3.5BA
Nestled in the heart of Quito’s charming San Marcos neighborhood, part of the vibrant "Old Town," our spacious apartment places you steps from the Historic Center’s treasures. Stroll to iconic landmarks like the Presidential Palace, Plaza San Francisco, Plaza Grande, La Ronda, and the majestic Basilica—all within minutes. A ten minute drive away is La Virgen del Panecillo, which can also be seen from our street. Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Quito, the first UNESCO World Heritage Site, with every corner revealing colonial charm. The city’s safe and beautiful new subway system is just a 10-minute walk away, making exploration easy.
This modern, light-filled apartment boasts 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, perfect for families, groups, or solo travelers. Two expansive master bedrooms feature private bathrooms and ample space, while the third bedroom offers two cozy twin beds and generous closet space. A sofa bed in the living room comfortably accommodates a seventh guest.
The fully equipped kitchen is a delight, featuring a granite countertop with seating for four, a coffee maker, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, stove, oven, and a complete set of dishes, utensils, wine glasses, cookware, and drinkware. Whip up a meal or enjoy a morning coffee in comfort and peace.
Parking is available with a dedicated, free parking space in the complex’s secure underground garage. Three additional guest parking spaces are also available, subject to use by other guests of other residents in the complex.
The apartment complex blends historic and modern architecture. The older building, a former school, showcases classic Spanish Colonial design, while our apartment is located in the newer building (built in the early 2000s), offering tall windows, abundant natural light, and modern amenities. The courtyard, inspired by Spanish Colonial style, adds to the complex’s historic charm.
Enjoy peace of mind in our tranquil and secure complex, complete with 24-hour on-site security. Only residents and approved guests can enter, ensuring a quiet and worry-free retreat—ideal for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The street outside is safe, serene, and offers glimpses of Quito’s landmarks, mountains, and skyline.
Just steps from your door, savor Ecuadorian cuisine at La Purisima, a gem located in the House Museum Muñoz Mariño, where art and creative dishes intertwine. Other nearby dining options include Lena Quiteña, Angel’s Town (we highly recommend), Artifice Cafe, and Padmitos (a great vegan option). Need groceries or essentials? Viveres Vanessa, an affordable bodega across the street, has everything from groceries to hygiene products to fresh bread.
Have kids? A short drive or taxi ride away is Parque Itchimbia. This park is close by and located at the top of a mountain with stunning views of the city and the mountains. It offers a playground for children, a large field for sports, paths for bike riding or walking, and restaurants with a view. In fact, its a great place to visit with or without children.
Our apartment’s central location, proximity to major landmarks, and secure environment make it an exceptional choice for your Quito adventure. Whether you’re here for business or pleasure, the Old Town—one of South America’s best-preserved historic gems—will captivate you. We fell in love with its colonial architecture, warm community, and culture. In fact, we tied the knot just blocks away at Vista Hermosa, an excellent restaurant with rooftop seating and breathtaking 360-degree city views.

About the host
Hosted by Shawn & Diana Abramson

We live in New Jersey where we raise our six year old son. Diana is from Ecuador and Shawn is from the United States. We married in Quito many moons ago and we return frequently. We wanted to have our own place located close to Diana's family and we'd like to extend the best possible hospitality to guests when we are not there.
Why they chose this property
We have always loved the history, culture, and food offered by the "old town." We enjoy the safety and tranquility of our street as well as the museums, restaurants, and Spanish Colonial architecture of the neighborhood. We also love the feeling of community and the friendly families that have lived on the street for generations.
What makes this property unique
Our apartment is in an excellent location with easy access to historic sites located within walking distance. It is located in a quiet and tranquil setting while being close to many landmarks our guests would want to see.
