Ocean Breezes is a lovely 5 bedroom, 4 and 1/2 bath home with private pool and carriage house right across the street from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico in the exclusive Crystal Beach neighborhood of Destin. Featuring 5 bedrooms with sleeping for 12 guests, this gorgeous beauty has elbow room to spare. There are two bedrooms with king beds, 2 with queen beds and a bunk room with a regular twin bunk bed and a full/twin bunk bed (sleeps 5). The carriage house is complete with a living room and full kitchen across the pool courtyard. Enjoy the private pool and grill as well as a short 500 feet walk to the closest beach access. Create incredible family vacation memories at Ocean Breezes.

The Bed Setup:

On the first floor is a bunk room with 2 bunk beds, one with a full mattress on the bottom (sleeps 5) and a pull out sleeper sofa in the living room. There's a full and a 1/2 bath on this floor.

The second floor has two masters, each with king bed and a private balcony, one has a private bath and a wet bar. There's a bedroom with a queen bed and a hall bath.

There's a carriage house featuring a bedroom with a queen bed and twin over twin bunk beds, a full bathroom, a second living area, complete with kitchen and a queen sleeper sofa.

There's a playground located one block north of the house at a nearby church - walk the kids over for a change of pace.

Area Attractions:

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest! Destin Commons also has a mini-train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop.

If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017. Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

Definitely recommend and will stay again!

The beach house was very spacious and no one was on top of each other. The view and proximity to the beach was awesome. It’s location almost perfect, it was close enough to everything that we weren’t in the thick of Destin beach traffic. Aside from a few cosmetic flaws here and there around the house, it was an awesome mini vacay. We would definitely book this place again when returning to the area.

We really enjoyed the house and its neighborhood. The furniture needs to updated. The mother-in-law house the bed needed some fixing. Overall we had a great vacation!

Great house for our family Stay!

This was a great house for my family and we all fit in very comfortably. My grand kids loved the bunk room! (I have 8) Nice master bedroom and Updated kitchen. Loved sitting on the open front and back porches. Just a walk across the street for the beach. Loved the private pool and the Guest house above the 2 car garage with its own private kitchen. We will be staying here again!

Teacher Beach Get-A-Way

We had 14 teachers stay at the property for a small get away. It was PERFECT! The house slept all of us with plenty of room. Everyone went on and on about how perfect it was for the 14 of us. Close enough to the beach that we walked there several times a day and close enough to shopping that we could run and shop and then still able to come back and enjoy the beach. We are thinking about making this a yearly trip, would definitely stay here again next year!

Great location and perfect size for a large group!

My family and friends and I enjoyed really enjoyed our stay at Ocean Breezes. The location was perfect with easy access to the beach. And the size of the house and additional carriage house above the garage had a great bedroom/bathroom configuration was perfect for our large group. On the negative side, the Wi-Fi access was spotty and internet was out for a couple of days. Also, the kitchen utensils and cookware were pretty old and sparse so I would suggest bringing a few of your own essentials if you plan to stay awhile and do much cooking.

Needs maintenance

This house was a great house for my salons beach retreat. BUT There was a lot of things that needed attention inside the house.washing machine, bathroom fixtures , dining table was not sturdy,dishes and utensils were spotty .. the closest Beach access is so tiny and was so crowded when we were there for the holiday had to walk a little further distance but wasn’t a bad location overall.

Best Prom Weekend Ever!

I and another parent took our daughters and their friends to Ocean Breezes for two nights during their senior prom weekend. The home was exactly what we needed. The additional carriage house was the perfect location for the smaller group of boys who came with us while we (the girls) stayed in main house. Love that the house was sound proof practically to the outside. There was definitely some noticeable wear and tear but nothing to exclude or dampen our stay. We did notice a musty/mildew smell in the carriage house, but a plug-in and some citrus odor spray did wonders for that. Overall we would definitely recommend this property AND RealJoy vacations.

DIRTY HOUSE

For the amount you spend to stay at this house, it is absolutely disgusting. The showers have black all throughout the grout, roaches found throughout the house, several spiders killed as well. They sent a person to “clean” the house the day after we checked in and we had to explain to the person why a counter top had to be recleaned after he had already “cleaned it” but the dead fly that was there when we originally got there was still on the “cleaned” counter. Garage doors did not work and had to be opened manually. There is truly only parking for 2 small - midsize vehicles. Requesting the cleaning fee to be refunded because the place was NOT in acceptable cleaning condition. Make sure to bring your own toilet paper if you have a large group or you will run out and bring your own trash bags because only 1 extra thin trash bag was provided. Honestly don’t trust the sheets were even changed either. Truly disappointing for how much was spent to stay here.

We have a been dissatisfied/disappointed with this trip. First the gun that was left in the closet that one of the kids could have found to the beach area that was such a small square to have on the beach for all the people who rents these house was horrible. Parking should have been explained better. we was told there would be extra parking at an over flow parking space and 2 times I called and talked about the over flow space and even ask could we park our boat the our boat trailer in it and they said no hoa will not allow it. then on the day we got there we was told the over flow space didnt exist and we could park our vehicles in a public parking lot. Ridiculous We would have booked another home if we would have known ..the grounds had a horrible smell that my mother and dad left the guest house 2 days early very unhappy. thankfully we brought the boat and found our own beach. We travel every year sometimes twice a year. this is the first time in 10 yrs I have just had to apologize to my family for this vacation

We can't figure out how the confusion about overflow parking happened, there isn't an HOA. There is a nearby neighborhood with overflow parking but it isn't this close to the beach. We take feedback seriously and are looking into the issues you mentioned. We appreciate your comments & wish we'd had the chance to improve your stay.

Ocean Breezes, Million dollar home was a huge disappointment

Ocean Breezes property was a huge disappointment. We took 10 members of our family for my mothers 85th bday and Thanksgiving. The location of the property was across the street from the condos where we usually stay and the view looked great. Upon our arrival we found the pictures on the website deceiving, much of the property was in need of repair or updating, seems this property started renovation of the 2nd floor but nothing else, bedding was smelly and old, seating in kitchen was missing, cabinets were falling apart, mixer, blender, can open all broken, all pots were old and not cook worthy, hot water was scalding, loose boards on all porches, fixtures didn't work, pool light broken, downstairs shower leaked big time, dryer quit on third day, property was just not as expected as the nightly/weekly rate reflected. If you charge top dollar for a million dollar plus home, I'd expect a home in decent plus shape. Will not recommend. Owner/ property manager responded to my concerns but not enough to change my opinion. We Travel to Destin 2x a year we will continue to stay at the condos we are familiar with across the street.

We tried our best to assist you with your concerns during your stay and refunded you $352. The owner heard your feedback and had a lot of the home remodeled from January to March 2017. They gutted the kitchen and completely overhauled it, updated the flooring and carpet on the main level, bought new dishware, new dining room table and barstools, all new bedding plus fresh decor throughout. This is a million dollar home and the new updates definitely reflect that. Again, sorry for your inconvenience, thank you for your feedback and thank you for staying with Real Joy.

ROACHES!

This house has a roach infestation that was so bad we were unable to use the living room not get a good night sleep. They came out at night and were all over the property. We reported the issue to the property manager (RealJoy) and they were extremely slow in looking into the issue and their response was inadequate. Although it was confirmed by a professional that there were indeed roaches, the property manager would only agree to reimburse the cleaning fee!! In addition to the roaches, the mattresses were stained and old in every bedroom, there was an unflushed poop in one of the toilets when we arrived, there were only 6 forks for the entire household to use and we had to rig the coffee pot just to use it without overflowing. The public beach access is close but be warned, you and all of your neighbors are forced to squeeze into a beach space that doesn’t allow room for beach games. We ended up going to Henderson Public Beach which was beautiful. I do not recommend this house and will certainly never rent from RealJoy ever again.

Our records indicate that we had an exterminator in the unit in less than 24 hours. While they did find roaches, there was no evidence of an infestation. Our records do not indicate that you reached out to us with any of the other issues you mention in your review. If you had let us know, we would have brought more forks and whatever else you needed. Large group stay

Great for a big group. Some items on property were broken when we arrived and our A/C was blowing hot air. They came out and fixed within a couple of hours. Mattresses could be more comfortable. But overall, great stay.
