My family had a great time staying at this lovely home. You are right on the James River which was great for kayaking and exploring. The view was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The ferry was 2 minutes down the road which was very convenient and a lot fun to ride each day. If you are headed to Williamsburg I highly recommend staying at this beautiful home.
Coming up the driveway we were thrilled to see the river view. Once we went inside the house, we thought it would be nice, but the home was spacious and nicely decorated and there was everything we needed for making our family get-together comfortable and fun. We enjoyed cooking most meals "at home," and also enjoyed going into Williamsburg on the ferry (close by) to visit Colonial Williamsburg and other sites. We all went out on the two kayaks and really enjoyed the wildlife we saw--our kids saw otters, a bald eagle, ospreys, cormorants, and other birds :-). This is our favorite vacation home so far. And the house was immaculate.
My son insisted that I write a 5 start review at least 4 times before we left. The house was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed to make our own meals including a birthday cake. The view is obviously the highlight here and it was delightful to sit on the deck by the water. The kids loved the birds especially the goslings and great blue herons. They enjoyed picking up unique rocks and shells along the beach and my son patrolled the lawn daily with his colonial riffle. The ferry was easy - we took it almost every day. We were all pretty sad to leave the warm weather and beautiful spot to return to our 30 degree temps in Maine. Recommend bringing slippers or grippy socks for the stairs. Thanks for a great stay!
The property is fantastic, pictures do not do it justice. We had 6 adults staying in 4 bedrooms and everyone was very pleased with their bedroom. The property was well stocked with kitchen essentials, even disposable products (we used up the aluminum foil so we replaced it).The views of the river from were great, even inside the house. We are very thankful to Rene for making this property available. We look forward to staying there again.
We had a fantastic stay! The house is gorgeous and we loved spending our evenings on and along the river. There was lots of space for our group of 8 to have their own rooms and bathrooms. Using the ferry (which was only 5 minutes away) to get across to Jamestown and Williamsburg was easy and greatly enjoyed by my children. We hope to stay here again in the future!
It was a beautiful home with lots of space and outstanding views. We could watch the tide come in and the ducks and vultures - who are very entertaining! Everything was very clean. I was disappointed that the gas fireplace didn’t work, but we were so tired when coming back from Williamsburg that we hardly noticed! We will be back! Thank you for everything!
The location was great for our excursions in to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown & Yorktown. We all enjoyed the ferry ride over each day. Perfect location, perfect hosts, very comfortable & clean!

We had a great time staying at this property. It is conveniently located to the ferry. It is very peaceful, quiet and has beautiful views. The owner of the property was very helpful with the check in process.
Great place to stay with family while enjoying all the area has to offer. The ferry is close by so makes that an easy commute. Enjoyed the home and the beautiful view of the river! Kids had a great time exploring the water’s edge.
