Please check out our stunning one bedroom, 2 bath private apartment on our beautiful horse farm in Southern Pines, NC...horse and golf mecca of North Carolina! We offer a very beautiful one bedroom apartment, with king bed & bead boarded ceiling, sleeper sofa, vaulted wood-beamed ceilings in the family room, 2 private bathrooms, patio, smart TV, full private kitchen, coffee pot, toaster, pots & pans...everything you need to make you feel at home!

Starting January 1, Tanglewood Farm will be transitioning from a traditional Bed & Breakfast to a short-term vacation rental.

Guests can now enjoy private one-bedroom apartments — each with its own charm — and the freedom to relax, cook, and explore at their own pace.

While our signature hot breakfasts will no longer be included or delivered to rooms, guests can still add fresh pastries, quiches, and other local treats to their stay during booking.

We’re so grateful to everyone who has shared mornings and memories with us over the years. This new chapter brings a more flexible, self-guided experience — the same peaceful Tanglewood, just with a new way to stay.

Nestled in the beautiful Sandhills Region of North Carolina, Tanglewood Farm is a working equestrian farm and vacation rental. The horse facility was once used as a US Olympic training facility, and is now primarily used as an eventing competition training farm. If you stay at Tanglewood Farm, you will most likely get the chance to witness some exciting jump training, as our farm is located next to many training facilities, including some owned by Olympic riders and trainers.

Tanglewood Farm offers guests peaceful accommodations, breathtaking views of Southern Pines Horse Country and a quiet respite from everyday life.

Take a stroll along the farm and observe the horses, chickens and other wildlife in their everyday routines, or relax with a glass of wine and a good book on a patio right outside your door. Spend the day enjoying the highlights of the Sandhills area, including Seagrove Pottery, Weymouth Center, the Pinehurst Harness Track. Shop for art and beautiful clothes in downtown Southern Pines and Pinehurst, go antiquing in Cameron, golfing at one of the hundreds of golf courses, or hiking at Weymouth Woods. End your night with a delicious meal at one of our many fine restaurants. Whatever the season, a myriad of activities await you in Southern Pines --North Carolina's best keep getaway secret!

During your stay, enjoy fine dining at one of Moore County's gourmet restaurants in Southern Pines, Aberdeen and Pinehurst. The farm is just a three minute drive to the amazing restaurants of downtown Southern Pines. Try Red's Corner Food Truck Park, Ashten's, Chef Warren's or 195 for some amazing locally grown goodness! Grab a local brew at The Bell Tree Tavern or The Sly Fox, and top off your night with some live music at The Jefferson Inn. When you are ready to retire, curl up with a good book or DVD from your en-suite library and drift away to dreamland!

Dogs are allowed but must be pre-approved. $50 pet fee per dog per stay (2 dog max). Dogs must remain on leash on the premises and cannot be left unattended.

Children are welcome but must be closely attended by guardian at all times. Horses are unpredictable animals and we take everyone's safety very seriously. We ask that they do not run around the horses or barns, as horses tend to spook easily and can injure themselves and others. The kiddos love feeding the chickens and watching them roam free around the farm but please do not feed the horses!

Bringing your horse? We rent out stalls for $40/night, includes 2 bags of shavings. We require proof of negative Coggins.

The peace and quiet you need to recharge

What a great stay! We needed some peace and quiet and Tanglewood absolutely fit the bill for us. The property is beautiful - the horses, chickens, bunny, and cats. We stayed in the Horse Hound suite and it was well appointed, extremely comfortable, clean and cozy. Great place to chill and relax. The farm is also a very short drive to downtown Southern Pines which has a great selection of shops and restaurants. Our host, Lindsey, was very friendly and easy to communicate with and she provided the tastiest breakfast during our stay. We really enjoyed our visit - highly recommend.

Cozy little farm!

We loved watching the hens peck and roam around this beautiful little horse farm and see the horses in their paddocks. The grounds were landscaped beautifully. The back patio was a lovely place to sit, relax, and take it all in. Linndsay prepared the nicest light gourmet breakfast. I'm still thinking about that pastry! This is a very convenient location, just a short drive to Southern Pines, Pinehurst, and Vass.

You won’t regret it

This was our second time staying at this property. Everything was absolutely perfect and the host could not be more gracious and - chill. The farm is absolutely beautiful and the horses just add to the splendor. Downtown Southern Pines is awesome and just a stones throw (3-4 miles) from the farm and you can find just about anything you’d hope to find.

The apartment was spacious, well-decorated and had everything we needed. The farm with the well-kept grounds, horses, rabbits and chickens is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The location was perfect for us, actually very centrally-located for our activities. Lindsay and her family were absolutely fantastic. It was hard for us to leave. We would love to come back here in the future.

We came into town for one night to attend the US Open at Pinehurst. Thankful to have found this adorable property that was absolutely perfect in every way! Super easy to check in, great communication with owner. Clean, quaint and everything we needed was readily available. Beautiful farm with working horse stable and chickens wandering around their coop outside our back door. Just super peaceful. We will definitely stay here again next time we head back to Pinehurst! Highly recommend!

Birthday Weekend

We explored the Sandhills for the first time; and staying at Tanglewood did not disappoint on any level. We have a small dog and it was just perfect for taking her for a walk around the pasture. And there are no words to describe just how wonderful Lindsey’s breakfast is. If you don’t stay the weekend, you have missed a real treat! 😋

Fox and Hound Suite

My husband and I wanted to visit an area we had never been (lifelong residents of NC) and somewhere that our 2 children would also enjoy (3.5 yr old and 1.5 yr old) just to get away for a change of scenery for Memorial Day weekend. The Innkeepers of Tanglewood B&B were extremely personable and willing to allow us to explore all the grounds had to offer while educating us on the history of the farm and teaching us some about horses. The horses were friendly and our children had an absolute ball taking daily walks around the property just to explore. The breakfast delivery to our suite Sat and Sunday mornings was icing on the cake! The only complaints I have were the brightness and heat that poured in through the sun panels in the living room (where our son slept on the fold out couch) and the noisy neighbors that checked in on Sunday night. Beyond that...a trip well worth taking and a place well worth staying!!!

Tanglewood Farm B&B was perfect for our weekend outing, lots of charm, friendly, clean.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tanglewood Family m B&B. The owners we awesome and took great care of us to make sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was outstanding and friendly chickens to visit with made all the difference for our kids. Place was nicely decorated and clean with lots of character. Would definitely make this a place to stop in and stay if you are in the area!

My son and my parents and I had an amazing time at the Tanglewood Farm B&B. My son spent the entire time running around with the chickens, rabbits, and petting the horses. Love Tanglewood Farm

The setting was wonderful and peaceful. Central location. Lindsay's food was off the chart delicious! I have a gluten allergy and she made me some tasty gluten free crepes and eggs. Our teenage son loved the food so much that he insisted on leaving her a "Thank you" note. The bed and sheets were very comfortable too. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

My mother Denise and I (Lindsay) bought Tanglewood Farm in December of 2012. We originally are from Green Bay, WI. Looking to escape the frozen tundra for some greener (and warmer) pastures, we had been looking at farms in Southern Pines for 3 years before we found our little 10 acre jewel called Tanglewood Farm. Ask about our 3 B&B suites!

Why they chose this property

Tanglewood Farm B&B is one of the most peaceful and serene places on earth! We have three different B&B suites to choose from, ranging in size and price. And Southern Pines is such a charming town...horse farms and golf courses as far as the eye can see, but also with many fine restaurants and shops within a quick 3 minute drive to downtown.

What makes this property unique

Our farm is located in the middle of horse rider's paradise! Waking up and having your morning coffee outside while watching horses graze is priceless! You can walk right across the street to the Walthour Moss Foundation and trail ride on the 4,000 acres of equine trails! We are surrounded by Olympic riders and trainers and you can walk into any restaurant in your riding clothes and feel perfectly at home! If golf is more your speed, we are about 4 miles from Pinehurst, which has numerous amazing golf courses!
