I was worried when I read some reviews that the property wasn’t clean but was happy to see it was very clean when we arrived. The hot tub and pool were both clean as well.
With a little updating/TLC this property could be 5 stars.
We really liked that the main bedrooms all had their own bathrooms. The mattresses were a little older but we brought our own mattress toppers so it worked out well.
We had a nice time and would stay here again.

This place would be fine for a bachelor party maybe. There are in holes in the wall all over the place. Bilnds are ripped up. The walls and the carpet were nasty. What little kitchenware that was there were dirty and in bad shape. There was trash in the hottub. I would never rent this one again..

Nags Head
No toilet paper in one bathroom and none available. No dishwashing liquid or wash rag. Deck has loose boards & upper deck was not that safe. No information was left about check out or how to operate tv.
The list is quite long to describe all the things wrong with the cleanliness of this house. Bugs everywhere. Trash all over the floor and in the pool. Holes in walls in every room. Toilets not working properly. We knew going in from the reviews it was not going to be five star, but it's not even a two star.
But when our entire family contracted Hot Tub Faliculitis on day four of our trip due to the filter in the hot tub having never been changed, it completely ruined our trip. Doctor's visits. Pharmacy visits. Constant Skin irritation. Crying kids. The worst vacation ever! We left early.
And when we reached out to the owner, Michael, and requested a refund, he told us we were trying to EXTORT him. We replied with a breakdown of all the issues and health expenses we encountered and he never responded back. These people do NOT care for the safety of their renters.
DO NOT STAY HERE!

Unsafe
Loose decking, especially on the 1st & 4th floors.
We emailed the owner to tell him he did come and do a little work but it’s so bad it was not fixed. Some railings on the 3rd and all on 4th floor are loose. We did not let anyone go to the 4th floor due to safety concerns.
We put boogie boards over the loose boards trying to keep the kids safe.
The AC in one bedroom did not work. I contacted the owner and he brought a window unit. The AC in the game room did not work either, though I did not contact the owner for that one.
The gamer room pool table is cobbled together with bungee cords and duct tape. The first time the family played a balled dropped through onto one of the kids toes bruising it. Which I informed the owner. I told him we put cardboard in the hole so the babies we not injured …and he thought that was a good idea. We could not use it again.
There are holes everywhere in the house. Some intentional, some not but none of them fixed.
The pool does not have coping. He ran decking to the edge where the kids ended up with scratches all over them.
Lastly, there were newer benches near the pool. We used them however they are poorly hand made. One broke causing two members to be injured, one with a gash on her head and concussion.
The owner knew we had 6 kids 1-11 in this house and rented it to us with all the dangers anyway. We were all so uneasy the entire time because of the state of the house and safety concerns.
The beds were not comfortable at all. Worn out and need to be replaced immediately. Sleeping on springs is not comfortable.
They are not queen bed. More like full-size beds. Pull out beds we’re beyond filthy.
Carpet in the master bedroom on the 2nd floor was disgusting and stained. Garbage, wrappers, and even doll clothes under beds.
Bathroom had tiles falling off. Half-bath upstairs handle is stripped, had to leave the tank lid off so we could flush.
Hot water tank is approx. a 30 gallon. Small for a house of this size with a lot of guests. Lucky to get 4 people to take a 5-minute shower.
Outside deck in very poor shape. Be careful, boards pop up everywhere! Trex around pool was a joke. Coping around the pool left all the Trex ends exposed. A lot of sharp edges. Trex boards cut very narrow on pool edge and are warping. Trip hazard with sharp edges.
Pool gate was hanging by 1 nail on top hinge. Bottom hinge was completely rusted out and not even attached. It fell off on 2nd day. Wasn’t happy with all the sharp edges being exposed and the gate of no use. Not safe for small children.
Pool maintenance man showed up to do nothing. Tossed in a couple of chlorine tablets and put the garden hose in to fill. He asked one of us could watch it. Said he’d be right back. Never came back. Didn’t even look at the hot tub.
Be careful around the hot tub. Multiple spindles missing on railing and others were duct taped to hold into place. Scary for a 3rd floor deck. Broken glass around tub as well.
Kitchen. Very limited on plates & silverware. Had coffee maker, but no pot. Had to go purchase one. Wasn’t happy. Microwave handle was broken too.
Patio doors & windows don’t have locks. Why provide a key? Had to use a piece of PVC to lock them.
Windows sills in all the bedrooms were filthy. Haven’t been touched in years.
Pool table. One of the ball pockets was missing. Didn’t realize until 1 ball went in and almost landed on someone’s foot.
I would NOT recommend staying here until major updates have been completed. The house looked like it just gets a quick cleaning. Not a very good cleaning at all. We spent the first night just trying to sanitize to make it somewhat livable.
Unfortunately, we were already committed and had nowhere else to go with the number of guests we had. Such a shame, the house is in a great location and has great potential to be an amazing place to stay.
We rate this place as a 1/2 star at best!
We arrived to a place that was not cleaned very well. A dead roach was next to the bed, chip bags and trash everywhere, cigarette buds, sticky counters, etc. The ONLY reason we booked this place was for the hot tub and it was DISGUSTING. We messaged the owner both photos of the mess and state of the house and inquired about the hot tub. He only said that the hot tub will be looked at the next day. The guy came at 11:30 and said he would check back in an hour, he never came back. There was zero follow up from the owner and upon sending pictures he didn’t even respond. The check out instructions asked you do the dishes and load the dishwasher but there was absolutely no soap. We had to unload the dishwasher from the previous guests (who had very obviously just ran it with no soap), go buy soap, and reload and wash things. If you are going to ask your guests to do cleaning and maid services you should at least provide the materials. The trash cans were also overly full so we had to leave the trash in the kitchen. We also ended up picking up and gathering a lot of the trash from the previous guests. There were also beer bottles in the pool.
The beds are very crappy and need to be replaced and the house is very run down, you can’t even lock the downstairs door. But this would have been all okay (ish) if the place was at least clean and there was good communication with the owner and the hot tub had been functional for our stay. But the combo of everything was just pretty darn poor.
Positives:
Awesome location! The layout of the house is cool and a good size and you can walk to many things
The Property is located in a central location. Walking distance to the beach and grocery store. Walking distance to favorite lunch spot "Red Drum". Well supplied kitchen. Wi-Fi was great on a all levels of home. I was able to game online with nephews and run amazon fire stick on primary TV and bedroom TV. Pool was cleaned while on site. If you like larger towels, suggest bringing your own. No ventilation in bathrooms, mattresses were original to house. TV's are a little larger than laptop screens. Pay attention to instructions left by management on kitchen counter. All utensils needed are supplied.
My large family needed a place near the beach for the week. This place had plenty of room, a great little pool, a hot tub, and was a very short walk away from beach access. I recommend renting a golf cart — you’re also just blocks away from Food Lion, cute local shops, and an ice cream place. Great location!
The one thing I’d say is that the pool decking needs fixing and the carpet could stand some work. But if you’re not afraid of a great house in a great location that just needs a little love, this one’s for you. We had a great time.
Mr. McEverry needs to make some repairs and put new, comfortable (5-star hotel quality) mattresses on all the beds. The ones there are either very old or very cheap. We liked the decorations, very nice and beachy.
Absolutely loved the area. The beach was super close and within walking distance, as was a cute ice cream shop and other various gift shops. The house needs a little work though. Some of the loose deck boards by the pool are a bit dangerous for kids. Mattresses could be upgraded. Pool and hot tub were very clean and very enjoyable. A great bonus is that every room had their own bathroom.

The house was not clean, air filters were filthy. Bed blankets were visually dirty and smelled.
Location was perfect if you don't mind a dirty house. Pool was clean and the kids loved that part
It’s a nice house but definitely needs some tlc. The fridge upstairs wouldn’t stay shut, microwave handle was broken, and we could not find the light switch for the pool. Beds are also very squeaky. I’m not sure if the cleaning service cleaned the downstairs room before we came because there was some used chapstick in one of the beds. But besides all of this it is a cute house with a nice pool and hot tub. And the walk to the beach is great but if you don’t feel like walking there is a little parking area which is nice is you are lugging a bunch of stuff with you.
The house was in a great location to walk to the beach! We had enough space for sure! Downside, the place was pretty damaged throughout and out dated. All beds were uncomfortable, pull out beds were filthy.

Needs a little TLC
We had a great time and enjoyed the layout of the house. It’s very accommodating as far as bedrooms with connecting bathrooms goes. The location is great!! Directly across from public beach access and private walkway to the road. However, be prepared to bring your own pots, pans, bowls and kitchen necessities. We had to go and buy our own pots to cook dinner. The dishwasher didn’t work. Having 14 guests and cooking made it a huge downer. They may want to also invest in new TVs. Overall it was a nice house that’s just needs the owners to come stay in for a night and see what’s missing.
This was a nice beach house for an outer banks trip. It’s clear that prior renters have done a number on it - damage to walls and pool table, we found some broken glass on the patio around the pool. The kitchen being on the third floor was tricky for our elderly guests, I don’t think I fully understood the layout when we rented (probably my own fault). The owner was responsive, location was great. Price was good. Kitchen amenities could be updated (pots and pans).
Great location, few minor issues in the kitchen only
Overall, the house was spacious with lots of space for a large group - lots of bathrooms and rooms. We loved the hot tub. In general, for a pet friendly home, this was a good option.
Kitchen was somewhat lacking. The knives were blunt, and not enough spoons. The oven was not completely clean, which covered our pizzas with black charcoal, so we had to toss them out.
The pool table, foosball table and the dart board were not in the best condition. There were no darts for the dart board, though.
Aside from the two points above, the house was good.
Property exactly as described. Stayed in early October after a long and full season, so the house was beat up but still functional. Just added beverages, food, towels, and family and had a great time. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have asked for the heated pool. Just one day of rain and some very nice and sunny weather, 60’s to high 70’s during the day, but the water was too cold to get in. Neighbor’s heated pool worked great and they were in it all the time. Full disclosure, owner warned that if the weather wasn’t warm, the heater couldn’t keep up. All in all, loved the stay. Wish I would have rented one more day to avoid the 10 AM checkout. Lesson for the next time.
The location was good close to the beach. The house needs updating. When we got there the freezer had sand in it and the doors to the deck were not cleaned we had to do that ourselves. Some of the TV's were not working because of cable. One of the bed's boards was split in half. We did call to get the TVs and bed fixed and they did come right away. Deck boards around the pool were raised up and damaged, and were a tripping hazard. Downstairs in the game room the fridge and freezer were not clean and there were holes in the wall. The bedroom next to the kitchen had holes in the sheet rock ceiling probably from a leak repair.
The house has a great location with plenty of room. Every kitchen accessory needed is there.
The house has everything you need, great location. The only complaint would be the pigeons living in the overhang over the hot tub. They are on the main deck a lot and messy. They should close up the access.
