About the host
Hosted by miljenka demel
Hi my name is Miljenka I am a retired conference interpreter now focusing on the development of land and property my brother and I inherited in the lovely village of Brela. We are the third-generation owners of the property that was started as a farmhouse on the main road some 100 years ago by my grandparents, then my parents added premises for tourists in the 1970s and in early 2010s we added this house in order to further improve our offering and meet the needs of visitors today.
The house was designed by my daughter the architect, with furniture hand-made by my son the artist, and decorated with paintings and drawings by my son and my brother Petar (a sailor and amateur artist). Enjoy the art as well as the spaces inside and the views outside.

Why they chose this property
Brela is a popular tourist destination offering kilometers of seafront walks, pebbled beaches and pine-tree forests, where you can walk, jog, swim and exercise on open-air gym equipment, but also sit in cafes and restaurants, if this is what you prefer.
Preservation of green spaces in spite of tourism development is what I appreciate in Brela the most.

What makes this property unique
The house is situated at the end of a quiet dead-end street with our own olive grove with 20 mature trees right behind it. I like the peace and quiet the area offers, as well as the view of the sea from the front of the house and the view of the mountain behind it.
the house is on a 150 m slope, and when I walk up that slope, I see it as my daily exercise, helping me to stay fit in spite of my age. What I have always enjoyed about the house is the view of the sunset, the scent of pine trees and the walk among the olive trees. Brela at its best.
