I was in town for a class at the local college and the location was ideal for easy access to where I needed to be everyday. I was so thankful for the thoughtfulness given to me by Deb she made sure I was comfortable and easy to talk with. It was the perfect home away from home.

Pella Annual Birthday Stay

We stay every year to celebrate our mother's birthday, this year she is 92. Great location, beautiful property and all the things you could need or ask for are available! The backyard is perfect for our three- and six-year-olds to explore. The three-year-old remembered exactly where the fun toys were stored and immediately headed to them upon our arrival. Thanks to Deb and Dan for a great accommodation and stay.

This is our second stay at this VRBO in Pella, Iowa. It is totally amazing. It could not be any cleaner! It has everything you would ever want supplied to you. The owner provides lovely pastries, Keurig coffee pods, and even a nice bottle of wine. The kitchen is supplied with anything you could possibly need to cook whatever you want. Exceeded Expectations

This stay exceeded our expectations. The house was very clean, comfortable, and inviting. The furniture was nice and comfy. They provided a lot of complimentary "extras" (coffee, creamer, tea, toiletries, etc.) for us to enjoy, as well as delicious fresh pastries from the local bakery! Deb was very good with communication and stopped by to give us some restaurant recommendations and make sure we had everything we needed. She also found a forgotten item and offered to mail back. I will definitely book here for my next Pella trip!

Like Coming Home :)

My family was in town for a wedding and with kids in tow, we needed a place to both cater to the young and old. Debbie's place was absolutely fantastic and was exactly what we needed! Close to downtown and parks (aquatic center as well), we really felt like we were coming home after every outing. There were toys for the kids and a great selection of dvds to choose from. Kitchen was wonderful to have as we stayed multiple days making it convenient for quick meals for the kids. You can tell Debbie puts a lot of thought and energy into her place and it truly shows! If we are ever back in town.. this will be a must stay!

Hello!
We are Don & Deb Buchanan. Raised and graduated from high school in the Quad City, Illinois area. Our lives took us to opposite sides of the United States, Florida & California to start our journey. I had finally moved back to the Heartland living in my dream home in the country for 10 years. When our mutual friends thought that our paths should cross again after 32 yrs. Well they were right! We recently celebrated our 11th anniversary. My husband takes great joy in letting everyone know that in two small words he became a husband, step-dad, and grandpa aka Paka! Donnie is a retired Graphic Designer working for 20yrs at Moffitt Cancer Research Center, based in Tampa, Florida. In 2017 Don took a position at Pella Corp doing something completely different. I am a retired Social Worker who has spent my career working with the elderly in the nursing home setting.
We love to travel! The opportunity for us to purchase our vacation rental in the beautiful Dutch community of Pella, Iowa was perfect. Two of our 3 children and their families, as well as one parent call Pella home. What a Great way to spend more time with them.
We look forward to welcoming, you, your friends, and loved ones! It is our hope that you will find all the comforts of home as you relax and vacation in and around Pella, Red Rock Lake, Knoxville, Newton, and the surrounding areas.

Why they chose this property

Donand I enjoy traveling. We have spent our vacations in homes across the United States and Europe. We have taken being a Vacation Home Owner very seriously. We want you to enjoy your stay with us. Therefore we have taken all the little extras we have enjoyed in our stays and made them a part of your stay with us. We enjoy being pampered. So pampering you with little unexpected items in our home for your stay is something we enjoy. At the end of the day you can come back to the comforts of home. If you want to cook you have a complete kitchen for making the simplest to whatever you would like to create. There is a conformable deck and barbeque in the backyard weather permitting.
Large Screen TV, Books, Games, and Movie selection for your use. We have provided 3 different mattresses for sleeping comfort. We feel that you will find all of the amenities of home without the hassle of packing!
Upon request we have many amenities such as double air mattress, 2 pak n play beds, 2 youth cots, 1 adult cot, high chair, booster seat, toddler toys, coloring books, crayons, puzzles, childrens videos. These items will assist parents in their packing for a vacation away.

What makes this property unique

Why Pella? Pella is a beautifully kept community right here in the Heartland of Iowa. Well known for it's strong Dutch Heritage and the annual Tulip Festival held in May. Close to Red Rock Lake and Dam, as well as the Knoxville Raceway. You want to get away from the hustle and bustle of home. Here is a relaxing, quiet, and beautiful community. Sometimes, we just need to get away. After a day of strolling the shops, eating Pella Pastries, or Pella Bologna you can come back to the comforts of home. There are always things to do, places to visit and festivities throughout the Summer within Pella and the surrounding area. Fall and Winter will lend it's own beauty to Pella. There is nothing like stepping back in time to the memories that old town squares offer you throughout the holidays. Shopping in Pella is refreshing and you are sure to find a few unique gifts. If you like quilting a stop by the Quilted Windmill is definitely on your list of to dos!
We always have a touch of the holidays throughout the home, In December we will always have a Christmas Tree up for you, your family, and friends to enjoy.
You will find that our amenities from fresh pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, many condiments, and water bottles upon arrival will be there to greet you. The bathrooms are well stocked with soaps, blowdryer, and so much more. We truly want your visit to our home to be memorable.
