House needs major repairs

Although our overall stay for 2 nights was OK location was good, and the kitchen and one bathroom looks remodeled. The rest of the place if falling apart. Many broken doors, open ceilings, old carpets, old sockets, and everything including furniture and fixtures even dining mats provided are extremely dingy and old. We walked in to a musty smell home needed to be aired. Front porch dirty. Also while it is on the lake and that is why we chose it, no real nice place to sit enjoy the lake, just a small run down side view deck with overgrown grass at end of drive on top of owners actual home. Would not recommend for long stay and specially not with kids, too many hazards!

Yes, there are some ceiling tiles missing in the back bedroom as there was a leak last week, and the special order tiles (17") have not yet come in. Falling apart?...the house has had both bathrooms, and the kitchen remodeled and in addition, except for the original leaded glass windows in the living room, there are all new windows throughout. The wooden surround and cabinets in the living room were custom built. There are no "broken doors" that I know of and new garage doors were just installed. The furniture was provided by a custom decorator and is of the highest quality, was expensive and the color scheme (including the table mats) were designed to match. Yes the house is a century house (approx 102 years old) as advertised and as such there are old style outlets (which all work) in original areas. That is pretty normal in such homes. As far as hazards the only one I can think of is one step up when walking into the kitchen, which has been marked with caution tape. The back deck by the lake is as pictured on the site and the "run down" deck you mention is less than a year old. Finally, I have had over 20 reviews on air bnb and vrbo which have all been very positive and no one has complained of a musty smell. In fact, the house was toughly cleaned before your arrival, which was a challenge since you requested and were allowed an early check-in.
