About this property
Trail Tamer - Gorgeous 360 Views, RIVER with sandy BEACH, Hot Tub, RRGorge
About this space Welcome to Trail Tamer at Three Suns Cabins — a stylish modern retreat tucked into the picturesque Red River Gorge, KY. Take in 360-degree mountain views, unwind in your private hot tub, or head down to your own private sandy beach on the river. With a fully equipped kitchen and easy access to the Daniel Boone National Forest, adventure and comfort come together here.
The Space Trail Tamer welcomes you with an open-plan layout that just feels right — a fully stocked kitchen ready for your best culinary creations, and a living area wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light. After a day chasing adventure in the Gorge, sink into the glow of the cozy fireplace and let the day melt away.
The bedroom offers a queen bed made for the deepest kind of sleep — the kind where you wake up to birdsong instead of an alarm. Step out onto the private deck with your morning coffee and watch the sunrise spill over the mountains. It doesn't get much better than this.
As evening rolls in, the private fire pit takes over — perfect for starlit nights, roasted marshmallows, and stories that run a little too long. When you're ready to really unwind, slide into the private hot tub and let the quiet of the surrounding landscape do the rest.
This is the kind of place that turns "just one more coffee" into an hour you didn't plan on losing — and won't regret for a second. Trail Tamer is one of eight uniquely designed cabins at Three Suns Cabins. While each cabin offers privacy and seclusion, guests also enjoy shared access to private walking trails, a sandy river beach, hammocks, fishing spots, outdoor games, and the communal Ember Circle fire pit — amenities exclusive to Three Suns guests.
Three Suns Cabins is just minutes from the best of the Red River Gorge — grab a slice at Miguel's Pizza, a burger at Sky Bridge Station, or breakfast at Daniel Boone Coffee Shop & Deli, all within a 15-minute drive. Spend your days hiking, climbing, or kayaking, or take a short trip to Natural Bridge State Resort Park to see the iconic 65-foot sandstone arch. Adventure and great food are always close by.
Guest Access Guests have full access to the cabin, private deck, hot tub, fire pit, and all shared Three Suns Cabins amenities.
Please ensure the phone number and email associated with your reservation is correct as important check-in information and stay details will be sent prior to your arrival.
Other details to note For your convenience, each cabin includes both a drip coffee maker and a Keurig. To ensure freshness and accommodate individual preferences, we do not provide perishable or consumable items such as coffee, K-Cups, salt, pepper, cooking oil, or similar goods.
The kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with the essentials needed to prepare and enjoy meals during your stay, including pots, pans, bowls, cups, utensils, and more.
To help you settle in comfortably, we provide a starter supply of essentials, including hand soap, paper towels, two rolls of toilet paper, 2 trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, and basic cleaning supplies. A bar of soap and travel-size shampoo are also provided. Guests planning longer stays may wish to bring additional supplies.
Each cabin includes a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking. Guests are asked to bring their own charcoal and lighter fluid. Please note that while we do our best to provide lighters or matches for the grill and fire pit, availability is not guaranteed.
Firewood is available for purchase onsite. While we do our best to keep firewood stocked, availability cannot be guaranteed. The cabin is supplied with city water that is safe for drinking and all household uses.
Cell service can be limited depending on your carrier. Easy access, paved and well-maintained gravel roads lead right to the property — no four-wheel drive needed. Please note that Red River Gorge is a rugged, cliffy wilderness, and roads can be steep, winding, and narrow, so drive with caution.

We had the best time here on our honeymoon. We are avid hikers and come every spring. This was our first trip kid free, we enjoyed the peacefulness of the cabin and had the best nights under the stars by the fire!

Thank you so much for sharing this sweet review! We're honored that you chose to spend your honeymoon with us. It’s wonderful to hear that you were able to enjoy some well-deserved peace and quiet—and those starry nights by the fire sound absolutely perfect. We hope this trip gave you some beautiful new memories, and we can’t wait to welcome you back next spring (maybe with or without the kids!). 🌲✨
Everything was just great! Possibly add hand rail in shower is all we can even think of to suggest!

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay, and we truly appreciate your suggestion about adding a handrail in the shower — guest feedback like yours helps us continue to improve. We hope you had a chance to explore the walking trails to the river, relax in the hammocks, and enjoy the hot tub during your visit.
The Trail Tamer was a great place to stay it was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. It wasn’t quite as private as I thought it would be but the people that were staying in the other cabins nearby were pretty quiet. There are about a dozen cabins in this little area. The blackout blinds provided all the privacy you wanted. There is a Keurig coffee pot that wasn’t in the pictures I saw on line. We enjoyed the hot tub and the bed was firm but very comfy and plenty of pillows. All the blankets and bedding were fresh and soft. The road up the cabins is tight, steep and twisty, take your time and go slowly and you’ll have no issues getting there. Google Maps took us right to the front door. I would stay here again if we were back at the red river gorge again.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re glad you found the cabin incredibly clean and well-stocked, and that you enjoyed the hot tub, cozy bedding, and those blackout blinds for added privacy. We appreciate your honest feedback about the setting, while the cabins are part of a small community, we’re happy to hear your neighbors were respectful and that you still felt comfortable during your stay. Thanks as well for mentioning the drive up; taking it slow is definitely the way to go! We’d love to host you again if your travels bring you back to the Red River Gorge.
There were a lot of cockroaches at night outside that made the outdoor facilities difficult to use.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry that the insects you encountered on the deck prevented you from fully enjoying the outdoor space. We understand how disappointing that must have been, especially when you were looking forward to spending time outside.
Our cabins are nestled among open meadows and a wooded natural setting, so during the warmer months it's not uncommon to encounter outdoor insects, including American wood cockroaches. While they can certainly be unsettling to see, they are harmless insects that naturally live outdoors and are very different from the German cockroaches that infest homes and buildings. We have our cabins professionally treated on a regular pest control schedule to help minimize pests, but in a natural environment it's unfortunately impossible to eliminate all wildlife.
We genuinely appreciate you sharing your experience, as it helps us continue looking for ways to improve our guests' stays. We hope you were still able to enjoy the beauty, peace, and unique setting of the property despite this unfortunate experience.
