Cute 3 bedroom Cottage on beautiful Torch Lake in Northern Michigan. Rated the third Most Beautiful Lake in the World by National Geographic. You can enjoy the sunrise or a romantic moonrise by the fireside on the deck. Cottage completely renovated in 2009, sleeps 6, modern kitchen, full bath and a half, 70ft. dock and 5000 lb boat hoist included.

Cottage is conveniently located for many top ranked golf courses, day trip to historic Mackinac Island, 1 hour drive from Sleeping Bear Dunes, 25 minutes to Traverse City and wine touring country. Enjoy Torch Lake's crystal waters and famous sandbar gathering site. Our return guests comment that the color of the water reminds them of the Caribbean.

Perfect Getaway

This was the perfect vacation getaway for our family. The cottage was clean, spacious, and roomy. The view of Torch Lake was fantastic! We swam right off the pier in crystal clear water. The caretakers were timely in the communications to us and checked in on us throughout the week. We will definitely be back!

LOVELY LAKE HOUSE VACATION

Our family of six had a great week at Te Papa Cottage on gorgeous Torch Lake. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed having a/c, the kayaks, and the firepit. We spent our days on the lake at the sand bar. The view of the water from the cottage is beautiful and serene. Very relaxing. We are booked for next year. Thank you so much!

Great Location

The house was in a great location on Torch. Five minutes to the sandbar and ten minutes to dockside. The house was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

TePapa Does Not Disappoint

TePapa was the perfect property. This was our first time booking through VRBO and the owners made everything so easy, communication was timely and the description doesn't do it the justice it deserves. The view from the cottage is amazing. Torch Lake is one of our favorite locations and it was wonderful to get back after a few years of missing our happy place. Tepapa exceeded our expectations and shined in comparison to other rentals we have had on the lake. The previous reviews on cleanliness are spot on, the place is very clean! The property is well cared for, and the location was private. We felt right at home and wanted for nothing. We look forward to booking in the future and it made the ten-year anniversary of our engagement on the lake very special.

Excellent place on Torch!

Our stay at Torch was great! The cottage was very clean and the shallow water by the house and boat lift were huge pluses. The lake was crystal clear with close proximity to many fun activities to do with the kids. Highly recommend!

Affordable on Torch Lake cottage rental

Nice and clean cottage right on SW Torch Lake. Boat lift and mooring buoy nice to have, wood dock ok could be more sturdy and got splinters easily. Access to lake not very shallow and very rocky bottom, water shoes recommended. Needed more washcloths and hand towels but no clothes washer, has clothes dryer; and note no dishwasher. Beds ok, have to make your own beds on arrival and bunk beds are a challenge. Of note, large house being built next door, still in framing stages and noisy on some days, however this was not communicated by owner prior to arrival and thought the obvious should of been mentioned to us so we would know what to expect. Overall, would consider renting again.

Beautiful Cottage

Scuba Diving Torch Lake

Myself and 4 friends stayed at this cottage on torch Lake for an extended weekend of scuba diving , I can’t say enough about our stay, the house was very clean, all the amenities were in place, Communication with the property managers was top of the line. I use VRBO quite often and this was hands-down one of the nicest vacation rentals I’ve stayed,Will be booking again with the wife for a nice relaxing quiet vacation. If you have a boat the boat lift is a huge positive to this property.

Wish the weather held out

Our stay was great except for the weather. We weren't able to enjoy this beautiful lake like we wanted. It rained 3 out of 4 days unfortunately. We will be back thou!

Great vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at Te Papa. The location on Torch Lake was the best for biking, walking and for enjoying the water. The boat lift on the property accommodated a ski boat and we kept the trailer at Luhr's Landing, which was a short drive down the road. If we were to visit Torch Lake again, we would book early to have a better chance of getting Te Papa. While we were on vacation, my family tried to book again for next year- no luck! The proximity to good restaurants was a plus (Mico's, Pearls, Shorts, Distillery Ethanology, The Muffin Tin). We did pack cleaning supplies, but everything was super clean upon arrival. We enjoyed the early morning sunrises- sitting on the dock- it was peaceful and restorative. Thank you!

Te Papa (Our Place) Cottage has provided our family with happy memories for 4 generations. Its tranquil surroundings have provided a constant haven in our lives. We are delighted to share it's charm with our guests while we are living in Chicago to be near our 2 new grandchildren.

What makes this property unique

Torch Lake offers so many adventures, from cruising the Chain of Lakes, to visiting the sandbar. We love the old growth stand of trees between the cottage and the road that makes the cottage quiet and secluded. We see deer, foxes, and many birds from the back patio. The view of the lake from the livingroom and deck is stunning!
