We enjoyed our long weekend stay, the property had everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable; we enjoyed using the firetable out front, and chilling in the hammock. The steps were steep but have grip tape to prevent slipping, we didn't have any issues!
The Banana Hammock is so cute! We needed somewhere not too far from OU and Hocking Hills and this was the perfect spot! I highly recommend this location if you are looking for a place that is not hard to find and not off the beaten path. Drew responded quickly to inquiries and was helpful with directions and any other questions we had. The description mentions the stairs are steep, but I found them manageable. I have knee issues, but I was able to get to the loft area and down without any problems. We loved the character of the space and really liked the innovation with the design it took for making it into a fun lodging spot.
Absolutely loved The Banana Hammock! Very clean and enjoyable! Very convenient being right by local restaurants downtown and about 10 minute drive for hiking at Old Man’s Cave! Host was responsive and helpful right away! Definitely recommend!
The place was cute overall but, the stairs were much more steep than they appeared in the photo, almost dangerous. A weird musty smell that appeared to be coming from the leaking mini split unit upstairs that had water running out of it. Bathtub became extremely slippery just from simply showering and caused one of us to slip and fall. The hammock features while being extremely cool were very hard and uncomfortable to actually enjoy.
Rental is very nice, but the other portion of the building does not appear nice

Cozy and comfortable. The stairs were very large and may not be suitable for everyone. Plates, glasses, and cooking utensils were amazing to have. The hammock is super comfortable and sturdy.

The location is pretty great if you're visiting for the hiking. That's where the good ended. There were nails and screws in the parking area for this apartment. The window behind the bed was broken and being held together by some decorative film. It says it sleeps 4,but the futon was just big enough for one person to sleep comfortably. The dishes were dirty and the sponge that was left to wash the dishes with had some sort of gunk in it already. I tried to get check out instructions from the host as none were provided, and got no response. The bed was way too firm, but that's just a personal preference. And be aware of the stairs! They're so tall and hard to climb, even for our football player teenage boy!
While I cannot leave a review about my stay, I can talk about my short visit to The Banana Hammock which ended abruptly on my own behalf due to the state of the property. Starting off with the positives, the check in process was easy and very clear instructions were given, and the hammock, though covered in hair, was comfortable. That’s where the positives end. The bed area alone was enough to make anyone start questioning things. The blanket covering the bed was adorned with mysterious stains and crust, pulling it back revealed multiple hairs surrounding a central hairball. Stripping the bed only made things worse, as the mattress had multiple yellow stains across the top and sides. The night stand was covered in crumbs, the rug under the bed needed a serious wash and the surrounding floor was overall covered in dust and debris. Behind the bed, was a lovely family of bugs and dust. Moving on, the bathroom sink and shower had some hairs of their own and the shower head was about chest level, so i’m unsure how anyone would actually use it. The kitchen, of course, had food bits in the sink and the plates and dishes appeared used, but not washed. While everything was cute if you squinted a bit, the cleanliness of the property made it uncomfortable at best. On top of it all, trying to contact the host was virtually impossible. They were made aware of the issue taking over 7 hours to respond to my initial message, and never responding to my follow up. Overall would not recommend!
