Several levels of decking offers grilling (gas & Blackstone), large outdoor eating area, water sports, fishing, lounging areas, and fire pit nook right next to the lake. Large lake raft, 4 kayaks, and 2 paddle boards waiting by the pier for you with two bays close by. Large living room with electric fire place and panoramic view of the lake. Cozy second floor loft with books/games. Stocked coffee and tea bar. Washer and dryer with supplies on sight. Child friendly home with pack' n plays', highchair, child gate, bed guard rail, and dinnerware. Four parking spaces right in front of the house. This house is a short 10-minute car or boat ride to Indiana Beach, golfing, and several restaurants on the lake. This is a great house to enjoy time on the water with family and friends!

Remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Garbage goes by the garage behind the house. Put garbage in the big orange can, paper and cardboard can go in the metal burn barrel.
Please make sure that everything is shut off, stove, grill, lights, ceiling fans, air conditioning. Please close all curtains. Close and lock all doors that are going outside.
Put all used towel in the bathtub. Put all used sheets on the dryer.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

GREAT place that has everything you need for a quick or long stay. The back room that overlooks the water is so cozy and other than being outside is where we spent most of our time. We plan on coming back!

Beautiful Lake House in Monticello!

We stayed 4 days, going to Indiana Beach, fishing and swimming. The house was perfect for our family of 6, and had everything we could have needed during our stay. Beautifully decorated, clean, relaxing and breathtaking lake view! The owners communicated quickly and answered all our questions. We would definitely stay again!

Great stay. We brought more than just food but food would have been all we needed. The house had everything else we would have needed. Especially liked the Blackstone grill for making smashburgers. Liked how the main living area was all on 1st floor and all the bedrooms were on upper level. Would definitely stay here again if the area is in our vacation plans again.

What an ideal setting for a family gathering. Beautiful setting. Spacious living and dining spaces with a fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the firepit on the shore and the outdoor grills for meal preparation. There were more stairs than we expected (two stories in the house and two three levels of decks, but all stairs had railings and were safe. Kim and Greg were more than accommodating to our questions and unique situation. Parking is tight but adequate for a large gathering. We have nothing but wonderful memories of a weekend together on the lake. Already talking about a return.

This stay was for a reunion of friends from Purdue. We attended the football game. The accommodations fit our needs perfectly for our group size. Room were clean, bathrooms were well stocked, and kitchen had everything we needed. Loved having the grills to cook out. The multi-level deck was awesome. Our host did a great job communicating with me, and responding quickly to my questions. Would highly recommend this lake home.

Overall this house was very clean and spacious with an excellent view. Really the only complaint I have is that in the description it said ‘Boat’ and showed a deck with a dock underneath so we assumed that the boat that was there was either part of the deal or could be rented while we were there however we were told the day of check in that the boat was not for us to use. Lake Shafer Boat Rental came to the rescue so our trip was great in that regard but the advertising was misleading. Other than that it was a great house and very nice little vacation.

The size was great for the amount of people we had everything was clean. The only thing that we did not have between what I packed and what was already at the house with scotch tape.lol the house was pretty self-contained and three bathrooms was great especially the one downstairs now the steps that’s a whole Nother story for them Young ones it was fine but us older ones wellWe got one heck of a workout, but it’s a nice quiet area and we were within 10 minutes of grocery store gas station Indiana Beach. Everything was pretty close and the kids had a great time and that’s what it’s all about.

This place had a beautiful view of the lake. Beautiful decks to sit out on. Plenty of places to sleep and having 3 bathrooms was wonderful for our group. The host was so nice and easy ro get ahold of when we needed something. There are lots of stairs. That would be the only thing that we didn’t like but would stay recommend. The parking was a little tight but once we figured it out it wasn't to bad.

What makes this property unique

This house is on Lake Shafer, ten minutes boat/car ride to Indiana Beach and several lakeside restaurants. Multiple decks and outdoor sitting areas face the west to enjoy beautiful sunsets. Spend time outdoors swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, or just relax and watch the boats go by. The house is very close to two bays for calm water activities. We provide two grills and a large outdoor table for family cookouts. Evenings can be spent cozy around the lakefront firepit or fire table right next to the water. Two of the large bedrooms have stunning views of the lake! The upstairs loft is cozy and quiet for additional relaxing space in the house.
