The Perfect Family Vacation Home w/ Hot Tub!

This cabin is perfect for multiple families who want to have a great get-away together. It is not set up for large groups of adults. The two story chalet features four bedrooms and enough beds to sleep up to 10 people. The large deck also has a hot tub to help you relax at the end of your day. The location in Tahoe Donner puts you right in the center of both winter and summer activities, but is also located on a quiet, forested street that provides a relaxing place to stay.

The Cabin is a roomy, charming and well-appointed home located on a flat lot in a beautiful wooded setting. The home welcomes you with comfortable furnishings, tasteful decorations, and all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The Cabin is the perfect place to make memories with your family and friends and take in all the sights and activities that make Tahoe famous.

The downstairs rooms feature a California King in one room and a pillow top Queen bed in the second room. Upstairs is a larger room with a California King bed, and a large bedroom with 2 queens and 2 bunk beds and a TV. It is the perfect kids area. A day bed in loft opens to a king sized bed.

Tahoe Donner is a highly desirable, year-round mountain community located in the historic town of Truckee. The area is easily accessible from Highway 80, and just 35 miles from Reno and 100 miles from Sacramento. You can find excellent casual and fine dining as well as unique specialty shops in old town Truckee, which is just minutes away. Groceries, a hardware store, cafes, etc. are also just minutes away.

Tahoe Donner has one of the best ski resorts for young skiers and people just learning to ski. Within minutes are 10 other ski resorts including Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl, and Northstar. If cross country skiing is your winter sport, Tahoe Donner has one of California's largest x-country ski parks, and was recently named the third best in the country. Numerous trails for snow shoeing and hills for sledding are located right in Tahoe Donner.

And when the snow melts, break out the golf clubs, mountain bikes, and river rafts. Miles of hiking trails, adventure parks, and miniature golf courses supply endless hours of fun for the whole family.


We are a no smoking cabin. If you are a smoker or plan to travel with smokers, this is not the property for you. . We do allow families that are looking to create special memories together. We do not allow pets due to previous experiences that resulted in damage to our property.

Perfect cabin

Loved our stay at this cabin. The host Brian was very communicative and once we arrived there was a whole folder prepared with information about the area. I had family visiting from out of the country and they had never seen snow. We took them up to Tahoe for the weekend and we had a great time. The house was very spacious and had everything that we needed. I contacted the owner once and he was very responsive.

Another great stay in Tahoe Donner

We love the Hicks cabin. This is our second visit with friends, and won’t be our last. Great location in lovely Tahoe Donner, it was spacious for our three small families, where the parents got rooms of their own and our kids (ages 5-9) could bunk in together in their own fun room. Everything is clean and really well appointed — the kitchen is especially well set up. Hot tub was a wonderful bonus, and the snowy yard is a great place for the kids to play. Communication with the host was super easy, as was check in and check out. Thank you, Brian!

Place is laid out really great. Huge upper area (with door that closes) with lots of beds and tv. Had all amenities needed. Tons of towels. Kids loved swimming in the spa. We’d happily stay here again!

4th of July Holiday

Our family had a wonderful stay over the 4th of July Holiday. Perfect location. Quiet area and close enough to go to the lake for the day. The house layout was great for our family. Our kids loved the kids hang out area upstairs. Kitchen was fully stocked which was great for family meals. Hosts were responsive and kind. We love to come back next time during winter!

Wonderful home, plenty of room and space for all. Kids loved the hot tub and huge room with 2 bunk beds. For a family that enjoys cooking as much as mine does we had everything we could need. Well stocked with everything.

Lovely Cabin for Family

We stayed here for Christmas. The cabin looked even bigger in person, the pictures did not do it justice! . It had everything you could think of plenty of room, blankets, towels, and kitchen utensils! Brian even had Christmas decorations and a tree up for us! We felt right at home! I would stay here again if we go up to the Truckee area! Thank you Hicks family!

Marvelous cabin/house with tons of space. The bedroom with bunk beds is great for kids. The house is perfectly set up for families, particularly in the age of remote learning (we had three students working in separate rooms). Great access to trails, downtown Truckee, and everything else. And the owner was a great host. Top-notch!

Perfect Place for a Winter Getaway!

Beautiful cabin in the perfect location of a winter wonderland! Cabin was fully stocked with all the essentials and necessities. Very spacious inside. Plenty of beds and space for two families. Had a minor issue with hot water but was immediately corrected after contacting the owner. Would definitely recommend this place for a winter vacation for all ages and would love to stay at this location again!

Wonderful rental!

We absolutely loved our stay here. It's a beautfiul, clearn, extremely well-kept propertyin a great location in Truckee. My two children (ages 7 and 9) were thrilled with the space too -- my daughter suggested we give the place "105 stars," but unfortunately we were limited to five. We also appreciated the host contacting us beforehand to let us know we could arrive early. All in all, a great experience.

Wonderful cabin!

This place is great. This is our 2nd year staying there with 2 families (6 kids total). There are 3 adult bedrooms too! The kids room is HUGE with a fun foosball table. The house is super-well maintained with a nice layout. The jacuzzi on the deck is great too. The other nice thing is that it's literally 2 blocks from Donner ski slopes so it's very convienient. Brian is nice and helpful and really wants his guests to have a great stay. I'd highly recommend this place for families.

Great big space for families, central in Tahoe Donner, nice hosts

Brian was a superb host. Everything was as described, and plenty of space for families. Games were located in the loft area. Kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable. The only thing was one of the bunk beds didn't have a strong supporting ladder, so my kids slept on the other beds closer to the ground. Other than that, everything was great!

Spacious Cabin Convenient to Everything

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful Tahoe-Donner cabin. The space was more than adequate for our group of 10. The kids' room is fantastic, allowing the younger people in our group to play, talk and listen to music while grownups could do the same downstairs. All of the furnishings are comfortable, and the home is well maintained. The sofa was big enough to fit out entire group when we gathered in the evening to watch the Olympics or a movie. The kitchen was very well equipped, and we enjoyed sharing most of our meals at the cabin. The hot tub was also a big treat. We highly recommend a visit if you're planning a trip to the mountains.

One of the best Tahoe Donner vacation rentals

We rent multiple homes each ski season in Tahoe Donner with another family, and this home was one of the best we've rented in a while. An A-frame that has been upgraded throughout - the blurry pics don't do justice to the nice open kitchen/living/dining room. Lots of room for two families of four, with a great space for four boys to call their own - the adults couldn't even hear them from the living room. Quiet street, large hot tub and good-sized garage for one car plus a range of skis and sleds. Plenty of kitchen utensils, towels, bathroom supplies, wood and everything else we needed. Most importantly, all this for a very reasonable price relative to some of the other homes we have rented. Plus, Brian was a great and communicative host.

We purchased this home in early 2013 so that we could have a place that our children could grow up with and our family could create memories with friends and family to last a lifetime. We live in the Sacramento area and use this home quite often. We are happy to be able to share it with others during the times that we can't make it up.

Why they chose this property

We chose Tahoe Donner because of all the amenities and the proximity to Sacramento. The property has a 'mountain cabin' feel while still offering all of the comforts of a modern home.

What makes this property unique

We wanted a home that we could get away from it all and would allow us to entertain our entire extended family for memorable family get-togethers. Our location in Tahoe Donner is on a very quiet street and yet we are minutes away from skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, golfing, biking, and swimming .
