My family and I enjoyed our stay at this beautiful 1920’s home. It’s perfect for a big family. The home was extremely clean. We enjoy the backyard and gazebo as well. It’s located near grocery stores and fast food. Nice neighborhood, across the street from a park. The driveway was a little steep. It was not a problem, but good to know as I have elderly relatives. The driveway holds approximately 4 cars, it’s narrow. You have to park behind each other. The garage door was in need of repair so we were not able to use, but once repaired it will be a nice feature to have for more room on the driveway. The 2 upstairs bathrooms could use some minor maintenance/updates. We were very happy with the property and would stay again when in the area. Thanks for the enjoyable weekend with family!

Quick weekend trip

Great location. Parks close by within walking distance. Great location for great food all around. The house was clean and as depicted. This is an older house and has just the right amount of charm between the way houses were built in the first half of the 20th century and now. We would book again if our travels take us back to Winston-Salem.

Disappointing Stay – Needs Serious Maintenance and UpdatingUnfortunately, our stay did not live up to expectations due to several property maintenance issues.Interior Issues: We experienced major plumbing issues with overflowing to the shower drains in two bathrooms, which caused a huge inconvenience during our trip. Their attempts to unclog the drains were unsuccessful during our stay. The interior furniture is outdated, mismatched, and seen better days. I've included a photo showing standing water in the shower drains. Exterior & Grounds: The property is not well-maintained on the outside either. The shrubs were completely overgrown, and there was noticeable rotten wood trim around the garage. Photos on the website show a well-manicured yard. I've included photos that show what the rear actually looks like. The house has great potential, but it needs significant repairs, plumbing fixes, and cosmetic updating before it is truly ready to host guests properly. Proceed with caution when booking this home. I hope the host addresses these structural and plumbing issues soon, but until then, I cannot recommend staying here.

Great place in Winston-Salem

We rented Eric's place for three nights while we were in Winston-Salem to move our son into college and it was perfect. The location was great, everything was clean and functioning, and it was well equipped. The only thing that was a little tricky was the parking as the house is located on a busy street and we had to back out of the driveway.

Great location for downtown event

We stayed for our daughter's wedding and had a few family members with us. The house was spacious, clean and well stocked with everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. It was also conveniently located to all our events downtown, which was very helpful. There is some street noise as the house is on a main street, so if that bothers you, bring earplugs or a sound machine. It's not bad, just something to be aware of for the two bedrooms that face the street mainly. Overall it was a great place to stay.

The property worked well for 9 adults and 1 toddler. The house was well equipped for a toddler as it provided a crib, changing mat and highchair. The yard was fenced in so it was easy for the toddler to play. Overall nice property and good communication with owner.

Truly Historic Beauty That Is Great For Girls Weekend

Seven family members from four different states met in Winston Salem for a girls weekend. This house was perfect for our gathering. It is well maintained, clean and very comfortable. The house has a lot of charm and is perfectly located for venturing out for segway & haunted walking tours, wineries, shopping and restaurants. The house is also well equipped for dining in. If ever back in Winston Salem, most definitely will book this house again.

I grew up in Winston-Salem, and later in New Orleans, Louisiana. My grandparents bought the house on this listing 60+ years ago, and I bought the home from them when they retired because I loved the home so much and wanted to keep it in the family. I am a professional with a wife and two young children. I truly enjoy all aspects of the hospitality business!

Why they chose this property

This home is a special part of my family, having been owned by my late grandparents. My father and aunt and uncles were all raised in the home and we share many memories of family times there. We have restored the home perfectly with all the charm of the 1920s, while adding new plumbing, HVAC, a modern and bright kitchen, and electricity for safety and convenience. The yard is beautifully terraced, with 3 tiers of yard space. We love this house, and we're sure you will as well. We want you to feel like you're at a home away from home. We are responsive and available to help with any of your needs during your stay.

What makes this property unique

This 1920s gem is across the street from beautiful Hanes Park, with playgrounds, tennis courts, and more. We are also less than a half mile from Wake Forest University Medical Center, as well as less than a half mile from downtown, Publix, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods and dozens of great restaurants and other attractions very nearby. Located right off business I-40, it is very convenient for travelers. It's a short Uber or Lyft ride to all the vibrant downtown life; the arts district, breweries, cool restaurants, music, boutique theatres, shopping, as well as easy access to wonderful museums such as Reynolda House, SECCA (free!), and the must-see Old Salem. It's also a great area to get in your FitBit steps, and you'll see many walkers, joggers, dog walkers, and bike riders in our neighborhood.

Winston-Salem is rich with history and continuing to grow, and our home is close enough to the very heartbeat of the City of Arts and Innovation to be convenient for sightseeing, yet is located in a family neighborhood, making it the perfect haven of tranquility for you and your guests.

You can relax and "get away from it all" under the lighted backyard pergola, sip coffee in the morning in the truly unique and artsy window filled sunroom, or simply kick back on the fully reclining plush leather sofa.

Whatever your pleasure is staying in or going out on the town, you're sure to feel rested in the morning after sleeping in our comfy and clean beds! Mi Casa Es su Casa!
