This is an economical priced listing, and is appropriately priced. While our stay was primarily used just for sleeping it suited our needs well. The furnishings could use some updating, and the few issues we has were quickly and adequately addressed. This is an older building and has its quirks, I would happily stay here again. The neighborhood is older as well, and not the fancy part of town, the folks around us we pretty nice, and our Uber drivers all said it's pretty safe. Would definitely come back!
Lovely property. Clean. Well suited for our purposes. Had some trouble with the entry code and getting in touch with the host initially but everything worked out and the host was very responsive and helpful.
Being pet-friendly and a decent price point was a plus, but the furnishings were a bit more worn and sparse than expecting. The doors either stuck/got jammed or were creaking. Check-in was straight forward and easy.
We were there five nights for a graduation nearby. It was lovely to have three families spend so much time together rather than be in separate rooms in a hotel. The property is in need of maintenance, but it was fine. (Missing light bulbs, holes in the downstairs flooring and chipped in the upstairs bath, need to lubricate squeaky doors, probably just live with the squeaky stairs.) The plastic lining of the mattresses were bothersome at best (One room very loud when turning, other mattresses very uncomfortable with the bumps the lining created.) There is one closet in the larger bedroom available, but not in the other two. Always free parking, but if it is after 3PM, plan to walk a block or more. No laundry soap. No games. Three can sit at the bar, others can use the coffee table. There is plenty of hot water as several baths and dishwasher all happened each morning without a problem. The decor is lovely and in good taste. Adequate kitchen. (Would love a paring knife, but the single knife available was sharp.)
Our original booking was cancelled by the host very last minute so I needed to find a place within 48 hours. The host was very responsive and let me book within 2 hours since VRBO was also covering some over the cost (last minute cancellation). I did contact the host before 7am. The check in process is super easy and the lock was even easier to operate. If you've booked with any other places, you may understand. The location is so so, it is south Philly, but there it's easy access to so much. We were only a few minutes from highway access, food and other places like the art museum. The neighbors are sweet and the bodega on corner has great food. It's a 1 minute walk to the Bodega. It was quiet outside our entire stay and we were able to find parking close. The neighbors also have outdoor cameras so the one time we parked on the corner wasn't an issue. The house was cozy. The kitchen is updated and so are the bathrooms. Water pressure is great and plenty of hot water. The rooms are decent size for the age of the home and the main larger room as wall to wall windows. The linens were clean. The beds were comfortable. The house does have older furniture BUT for what the cost is and the fact they do allow animals, if you need that amenity, I found it to be perfectly acceptable and fine. I'd book this house again if it's available the next time we go to Philadelphia.
The house was perfect for my friends and I’s quick weekend trip. It was as described and had all the amenities we needed. And when we ran into an issue with the door keypad not working, the host was quick with communication, had someone there within 30 minutes, and had it all squared away quickly!
We turned onto Beaumont and the neighborhood looked horrible. Houses were boarded up, trash everywhere. Shoes thrown over power line indicating drug activity. Owner assured me there was ample on street parking. We arrived about 2pm and there was no where to park. We wouldn't stay there for fear my car would be vandalized or stolen Owner refused to refund my money, said I could have checked the unit out before. We drove in from Virginia, a 6 hour drive.VRBO offered no assistance

The guest Ann stayed one out of her two booked nights and became highly aggressive when she did not receive a refund for that night. She began manufacturing complaints about the house and neighborhood to force a payout. This kind of hostile behavior makes it very difficult for hosts to manage.

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Everything was fine. No complaints good communication.
Nice house but the street had a lot of trash on the street and in the neighbor’s yards. Some of the houses on the street had an abandoned look. Street parking was available, and the house was clean and the laundry facilities in the front room were huge- though we didn’t end up using the laundry facilities. Bedrooms were nice, bathrooms and hot water good. We appreciated the host’s responsiveness
Host was very responsive and quickly helpful. The house was clean and had all the basic amenities. There were a few maintenance issues, but nothing that impacted our stay, just a few small repairs needed. Unfortunately, the prior guests had not followed the no smoking rule and had clearly been vaping. There was a very strong smell which cleared after we opened the windows for a good airing out. The neighborhood was convenient and street parking was easy to find. The house was a bargain and the stay was comfortable. We had everything we needed and want to thank our host for an easy stay.
I want to report Philip's behavior for review. He chose not to stay at the property by personal choice. However, he repeatedly called customer support five different times, offering completely different reasons each time until he forced a refund. As a business owner, this type of guest behavior is manipulative, deceptive, and harmful to hosts
