About the host
Hosted by Marilyn Benemann
I, Carlos Benemann, by mistake took the right turn off Highway 101 across Fernbridge 36 years ago, and I have been in love with Ferndale ever since. I own a two-story Craftsman house, built in 1912, right across the yard from your Francis Street Vacation Home. I owned antiquarian bookstores in Ferndale and Eureka for 25 years. I continued my career as a California court certified Spanish and German interpreter. I love talking with guests about books, foreign travel, horses and the good life in Humboldt County. Francis Street Home was built as a retirement dream home for Carlos my parents. I can now share it with you.
Why they chose this property
WELCOME ! To a quiet, comfortable, redwood Craftsman style home, on a landscaped half acre. Bordered by Francis Creek, just a block from the city park and downtown stores and restaurants.
What makes this property unique
As you cross Fernbridge from Hwy 101 and drive through the bucolic scenery, feel the stress from your daily hustle slip away. Drive past the beautifully preserved Victorian buildings on both side of Main Street, Ferndale, which becomes Francis Street after Ocean Street.1 and 1/2 blocks to a long driveway on the left. Turn up the driveway at 176 Francis Street. You have arrived. Francis Street Home is your home away from home and downtown and the restaurants on Main Street are only a block away.
