My name is Lisa MacEwen and this land has been in my family for over 200 years. I grew up down the road and this property was the site of a Homestead, built in 1805, by my Great Great Grandparents and later lived in by my Great Aunt Elizabeth MacEwen.
I live in Toronto with my 2 children. I built this home in 2012 to enjoy a little peace of heaven for ourselves each year for several weeks in the summer.
This is a special place with some of the oldest Chestnut and Linden trees in PEI, dating back to 1914, (which my Great Uncle brought back from California, to plant, before he headed of the WW1, where he was MIA and never came home. His memorial is at Vimy Ridge; France).
After unsuccessful attempts to save the old Homestead, I decided to demolish it and built a brand new modern, modest but spacious and cozy home. I was able to save some pieces from the old Homestead that were incorporated in the decor and construction to give this new place some traditional character. Although I own other waterfront land on the Westriver, I chose to build here, as this land has a special, tranquil and peaceful energy to it, with a view! Every time I come home here, I don't want to leave!
