About this property

Quiet Country Retreat w/ Horses, stocked pond & Spa Srv – Near Hocking Hills

A peaceful, country escape near Hocking Hills. Horses, stars, and serenity await.

Serenity Acres Homestead blends the charm of off-grid living with the comforts of home. You'll enjoy modern conveniences like lights, hot water, and appliances—all thoughtfully powered by a combination of propane, solar, and generator energy. While we’re not completely primitive, we proudly step back from the grid without sacrificing your comfort. The Daadi House was built smart: it stays naturally cool on summer days and wraps you in cozy warmth in Ohio winters.

Step back into simpler times at the Daadi House, a lovingly restored Amish-built home nestled on Serenity Acres Homestead — a Christ-centered, working farm in the heart of Vinton County, Ohio. Whether you're seeking rest, reconnection, or rural adventure, this one-of-a-kind retreat offers a stay you’ll never forget.

Experience Homestead Life
Wake up to birds chirping, take a peaceful walk past the horses, or enjoy your morning coffee on the porch as the mist rises from the hills. Guests are welcome to enjoy public areas of Serenity Acres while at the Daadi House— visit the barns, relax near the arena, walk the 3/8-mile track, or settle into a rocker on the front porch.

There is no traditional air conditioning at this time, but the home was built with thick, insulating walls, excellent cross-ventilation, and deep overhangs — all designed to naturally keep it cool and comfortable, even during warm summer months. Most guests find they don’t miss A/C at all!

Inside the Home

Three bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to six guests and a sofa queen bed for two additional guests.

A fully stocked kitchen with cookware, dishes, and small appliances. As well as a propane refrigerator and small cook stove and grill, while we await delivery of our propane stove as well.

Cozy living space with natural light and peaceful surroundings

Full bathroom with hot water and essential supplies

Free Wi-Fi, with login details posted on the kitchen counter, nightstands, and desk

Fresh linens, towels, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere

About the host

Host profile image
After years of prayer, hard work, and deep listening to where God was leading us, we stepped out in faith to begin a Christ-centered life of hospitality, stewardship, and service. Serenity Acres was born from that calling. And where we’re headed? We hope to grow into a gathering place for healing, rest, and joyful connection—hosting not just vacationers, but also therapeutic programs, seasonal celebrations, and a place for the weary to feel at home. We like being a host for all those reasons.

Why they chose this property

Nestled in the peaceful countryside just outside McArthur, Ohio, Serenity Acres is more than a destination—it’s a way of life. Surrounded by rolling hills, quiet woods, and tranquil ponds, our homestead offers a breath of fresh air and a return to simplicity. We are located just minutes from the scenic beauty of Hocking Hills, yet far enough removed to offer true stillness, privacy, and the gentle pace of rural living.

What we love most about our neighborhood is the sense of community, the star-filled skies, and the peaceful rhythm of nature all around us. Here, you’ll wake up to birdsong, see deer grazing in the early morning, and fall asleep to the sound of frogs by the pond. It’s a place where families slow down, couples reconnect, and visitors become friends.

What makes this property unique

What sets Serenity Acres apart is our heart. This land was once a traditional Amish homestead, and we’ve worked to preserve its rustic charm while thoughtfully adding modern comforts. From the quiet of the pond banks to the option of a hearty Amish-style meal prepared right on-site, everything here is crafted with care. Whether you're casting a fishing line, reading by the fire, or watching the sunset over the fields, the peace of this place is something you’ll carry with you long after you leave.
