This home was absolutely gorgeous! Beautifully decorated. Very clean. They thought of everything! It was more beautiful in person then the pictures and the pictures were gorgeous! Our host was the best! We will definitely come back!
This is a lovely house, one of the nice vacation rentals we’ve been to. The hosts do not cut corners with making sure their guests are comfortable and well taken care of. My family of 5 had space to spread out but also to watch movies and play games together. We also cooked and ate in every night. Even though we visited during a cold winter week, we were still able to take some short hikes/nature walks in the Big Canoe area and enjoyed a day trip to Dahlonega (about 50 mins away). I would love to come back to experience the area during different seasons.

Hello Maha, it was a pleasure hosting you and your family! I'm so happy you had a great experience and enjoyed the home. You're right about the seasons, the is something unique in each season to enjoy, but one of my personal favorite is the summer as there are many fun water related activities. We'd love to host you and your family again whenever you're next in for a visit! Until then, safe travels and Happy New Year!
We had the most wonderful weekend getaway at this beautiful VRBO home in Big Canoe. We were impressed by how immaculately clean and inviting the space was. The décor is tasteful and cozy, creating a relaxing atmosphere that made us feel instantly at home. The hosts have truly thought of everything. There was a charming coffee and tea bar, a great selection of family games, a dedicated card/game table, and even a beach bag stocked with towels for lake or pool outings. The plush bathrobes were such a luxurious touch, and the spacious layout gave everyone room to unwind comfortably. We spent a lovely day at the clubhouse, pool, and lake area, which added to the peaceful vibe of the weekend. We can't recommend it highly enough and would absolutely stay here again!

Our host , Stephanie, was amazing !! Her home is one of our favorites ! Her attention to detail was evident once we arrived ! She anticipated every need from coffee pods to an electric kettle with every imaginable type of tea and coffee ! Proper China tea cups ( the perfect touch for those who enjoy a “ cuppa !” ) The kitchen is a chef’s paradise! Everything you could possibly need and then some ! A truly wonderful and first class home away from home ! Would highly recommend to all who love the extras and enjoy the finer things in a home ! Thank you Steph for being an amazing host ! Cheers

About the host
Hosted by Stephanie Magathan
We're originally from Florida and moved to Georgia a couple decades ago. We came for the opportunities, events, culture, food and fun that Atlanta has to offer, but what we ended up falling in love with were our retreats to the North Georgia Mountains. Whether it is driving the Chattahoochee National Forest winding roads taking pictures, winery hopping, antiquing, hiking to waterfalls, or listening to local musicians perform live music, we always find a way to slow down our busy fast-paced city lives for a while when we visit North Georgia. We fell and love with it, and keep coming back. We hope you do too!
Why they chose this property
We visited and stayed in cabins, bungalows, treehouses and hotels throughout Georgia and they all had their unique charms, but we decided to put down roots in Big Canoe because of the amenities and the people. Big Canoe has its own, Stars Hallow like small town feel, with ample amenities in the community. Both right outside the gate and within a few minutes drive there are additional restaurants, shops, weekend markets, grocery store and gas station. Within 15 minutes drive is Gibbs Gardens, Amicalola park and waterfall, and Burt's pumpkin farm (seasonal). For a short day trip visiting downtown Dahlonega, Downtown Jasper, or a smattering of wineries which have beautiful views and locally crafted beverages of both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. Big Canoe really is in the heart of North Georgia and it quickly found its way into our hearts as a favorite vacation spot.
What makes this property unique
At Nestled Sparrow, we’ve created the kind of stay we personally seek when we travel—warm, thoughtfully designed, and far more comfortable than a standard hotel. As seasoned travelers, we love the charm of individually owned short-term rentals, but we also know the experience can be hit or miss. That’s why we’ve taken extra care to ensure Nestled Sparrow offers both the comfort of home and the quality of a boutique stay.
From the furnishings to the finishes, we’ve handpicked every detail: luxurious 1,000-thread-count sheets, plush oversized towels, soft bathrobes, and a fully stocked coffee and tea bar with both caffeinated and decaf options. Whether you prefer to brew a single cup or a full pot, you’ll find everything you need to start or end your day—indoors or out.
The kitchen is equipped with all the cookware, utensils, and glassware we use in our own home—including outdoor dining ware—so you can cook and dine with ease. If you need to stay connected, there’s a dedicated office space with high-speed internet, monitor, keyboard, and mouse, ready for remote work or a quick check-in.
We chose this property for its peaceful setting—nestled among the trees with wooded views and visiting deer, yet still bright and sunny. Big Canoe is known for its mountain terrain, but we especially value our flat, easily accessible driveway, which makes arrivals (and winter stays) stress-free.
Nestled Sparrow is more than a place to sleep—it’s a thoughtfully curated escape where you can truly feel at home.
