Affordable and on the lake. Is it time to take a relaxing stay-cation, fish-cation or vacation? If you are planning a fishing trip or entering a tournament, or just want a relaxing break in Guntersville...this is your place! Bring your furbaby, $50 per pet/ per stay. Large deck for enjoying the outdoors and grilling out, and a fire pit perfect for chilly nights. Take a walk out on the pier and wet a line. The water in front of The Cottage is very shallow and silky on the bottom, I would not recommend swimming here. The kitchen is equipped to make food preparation a breeze. Two miles from Steel Ford Boat Launch and 5 miles from downtown Guntersville. You have to visit City Harbor offering dining, shops, and entertainment! Come stay with us, you won't be disappointed! Home of the 2014 Bass Masters Classic!

Great stay on the lake

Access to the lake to take our raft out and fish. The home was great and had everything we needed. The pier was nice and also fished from. Nice location close to shopping and restaurants.

Serenity on the Lake

This was a very peaceful cottage to spend our first visit to Northern Alabama. JoAnna communicated well with us, and we and our spaniel felt welcomed and cozy. The kitchen was well appointed, and the home so clean. We recommend, and would stay here again.

Loved our stay. It is a lovely property. It was very clean. Lots of nice touches to make it feel special. It had everything we needed. Communication was fast and easy. I hope to stay again next year if we go back to Guntersville.

Nice property; lovely setting

We enjoyed the stay. The outside deck was a wonderful, peaceful retreat. The kitchen was well stocked; the bathrooms were nice with lots of places for storing toiletries. We enjoyed an amazing sunrise over the edge of the lake, and saw some herons, a flock of geese, and some other interesting birds. I highly recommend to rental.

Wedding to attend

It was close to the wedding venue which made it convenient for us.also close to store so we could pick up things we needed like snacks and drinks. The place was perfect for getting ready to go to the wedding. All was good until my sister slipped and fell in the tub. I felt really bad for her her eye swelled and turn black and blue. Suggestions: be sure to get some mats or nonslip strips to put in the tub so others don’t have this happen.

Comfortable cottage

This cottage was very clean and had a nice kitchen. Nice deck to sit and relax. Pretty view behind the cottage and big shade tree to sit under. The host was very friendly and helpful. Check in was a breeze! No problems at all at this location. Loved the deep kitchen sink. This cottage was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet. We enjoyed our stay.

The Cottage, Guntersville Alabama.

This is a beautiful cottage, very well appointed with all the things needed. Very clean and cute. My granddaughter, great grandson and I sure enjoyed nearby out door activities. Even fished on the back yard pier. Also Guntersville State Park has a nice state park and Bucks Pocket State Park is also a beautiful park that we toured by car. Beautiful scenes from the overlooks. I loved the Top of the River Restaurant. Delicious food. I so enjoyed the sights and things to do in Guntersville.

Well stocked if a little run down. Easy check in and out.

Great little house. The kitchen has everything you'd ever need. The beds and linens were ultra comfortable. The bathroom could use some maintenance and caulking. I was looking forward to beautiful lake views... This was more swamp than lake, lots of geese and mud. I could do without the religious and political signs and decorations, but to each thier own. We won't be back but it's a nice house if you need a comfortable place in the area.

A family of 6 with our last daughter studying at Auburn. Our family has grown to include 6 grand children.

Update! We are up to 7 grand children and yes, our last daughter graduated from Auburn in 2017! Automatic raise for us. We still love the lake and I love meeting the guest that stay with us.

Why they chose this property

For years we traveled to Guntersville from Madison, Alabama. In 2007 we decided to make the move. We found a house on a hill and moved. We were not able to buy property on the lake at that time. In 2012 found this house and made the decision to rent it at a resonable rate so others traveling to this area could enjoy this beautiful lake. This has given us many opportunities to meet people from all over. I have really enjoyed renting The Cottage and making others feel at home during their visit.

What makes this property unique

Pet friendly at a reasonable rate! I love the outside deck area! You can sit in the sun or the shade of the tree. Often you see ducks, geese, squirrels, and chipmunks. This is an older home with an arched hall entry. We have updated the flooring, master bath and kitchen. It is very comfortable and clean!

Two miles to the closest boat launch and PUBLIX! An older residential area located on a dead-end street.
