Welcome to Country Way Cottage! Enjoy a cozy studio cottage nestled on 22 acres of peaceful Texas countryside just outside Smithville.
This comfortable open studio is designed for up to 2 guests and includes a cozy bed, kitchenette, private bathroom, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and heating, and a dedicated workspace.
Step outside and relax on your private porch, soak in the hot tub, enjoy the fire pit, or explore the trails and open spaces around Country Way Ranch. You may even meet our friendly goats and free-range chickens along the way!
Country Way Cottage is located on a shared 22-acre rural property. The owners live on-site, along with a long-term renter, and there is another cottage on the property. Your cottage and designated outdoor area are your own, while the larger property is shared.
A few things to know before booking: This is a studio layout, with the sleeping and living areas together rather than a separate bedroom. The property is accessed by a dirt country road that is normally easy to drive but can become muddy or rough after rain.
And yes, this is the country! You may encounter insects, wildlife, goats, chickens, and other country critters. We work hard to keep the cottage clean and comfortable, but an occasional bug, leaf, or bit of dirt can sometimes make its way inside.

I was out here on a work trip - great location for a quick trip. Just the correct size for one person. And the goats are amazing!!!

The property is outside of Smithville. It is a bit remote. Which is fine.The hosts are great. They gave me tips on places to go for the night. I was there which was very appreciated.Please read the instructions that the host provides in advance of your arrival. And, take a screenshot. Because, I did not have Wi-Fi until I logged into the Wi-Fi on the property. This was my error, not theirs because they clearly communicated everything in advance.It is small and cute and the coffee bar was much appreciated.I plan on returning to Smithville at some point. Hopefully in 2028 when they have the 30 year celebration of Hope floats being filmed there. And, I will stay at this place again. They were great.

The space is incredibly relaxing and peaceful. The deck looks directly into trees and provides an excellent opportunity to decompress. There are chickens and goats on the property that are free to roam. Though I enjoyed their company, expect the goats to keep you up at night if they end up liking you as they slept outside my door and got up to move around throughout the night which will interrupt your sleep as their feet and the deck create noise. I'm sure that the host can help with that if you reached out. I happened to enjoy their company so I never mentioned it.

Way off the beaten path, this small, cozy cabin was exactly the relaxing and private getaway I was looking for. I hiked at Beuscher State Park on my way in, but didn't go back since I was able to walk the 22 acres on the property, with little trails and trees everywhere, it was great. The owners live on the property as well, but I never saw them, giving me plenty of privacy. The chickens and three goats were fun to have around, but they left me alone if I ignored them.
