Nice weekend getaway
What a view! Loved the morning sunrise. Communication was great and property was exactly as advertised. Cozy cabin feel, wood burning fireplace and well stocked kitchen. Thank you!
Our family of four enjoyed a perfect Christmas in this cosy house. The kitchen had everything we needed (and more) to cook a full turkey dinner. The beds were comfortable. The location was very peaceful and the view was spectacular, featuring beautiful sunrises. The deck is huge and we certainly would have spent a great deal of time there if we had visited during the warmer months. The fireplace was definitely a highlight and added great ambiance to an already cosy and warm house.
Evergreen cottage on Bowen Island
This cabin was beautiful with amazing views! It was well equipped with everything we needed including a fireplace with a fire log provided for each nights stay as well as the beds were very comfortable to sleep in! We spent a lot of time on the large deck enjoying the views, the sunrise was gorgeous. Short walk to the beach and hiking trails all around were an added bonus. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone that wants a beautiful getaway weekend that is so close to the city! We loved the cabin and Bowen Island itself! Thanks to the owner who was very quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed!
The view in this cottage is magnificent with the morning sun. It was well stocked, very clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. As there were six of us and lots of meals, we would welcomed a dishwasher. The trails in the back of the property made for a wonderful hike and, loved the proximity to the village, although the hike may be difficult for some coming back. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
A Perfect Getaway
We enjoyed our stay in this cottage and Bowen Island. It has a very beautiful view and is located at a great location. We spent a lot of time on the deck, looking the boats and ferries come and go.
The cottage provided everything we need. The kitchen is well equipped that provides more than enough utensils for us to cook almost every night. It was lovely to have dinner on the deck, looking out the beautiful night scene of West Vancouver. Although everyone said how nice the sunrise is, don't miss the moon rise too. We were lucky to get a perfect timing to see the moon rise, and see how the moon beamed over the sea, the deck and part of the house. It was absolutely beautiful!
Every morning, we hiked up the little trail behind the house. We also walked up to Dorman Point and then followed the Dorman trail to Snug Cove. It is a well maintained and marked trail, not too difficult. We also spend an afternoon hiking from Snug Cove to Killarney Lake and walk around it.
We enjoyed every moment there. The cottage provided us a comfy and nice place after all the activities we did during the day. We did not feel bored even after staying there for 5 days. Indeed, there were many things we haven't tried this time such as sea kayaking and hiking to Mt.Gardner. We will definitely go to Bowen Island again, and would love to stay here again.
About Jan Stevens
I have been coming to Bowen all my life.My great grandfather, Jake Dorman pioneered here in the late 1800's. He bought acres of land in Dorman Bay After retiring in 2007 I purchased the Evergreen Hall B&B in Deep Bay on Bowen and then later decided to add the Evergreen cottage on Taylor Rd for a vacation rental My children loved coming to the cottage and roaming the trails on our private acreage behind the cottage and swim at September Mourn beach just down the road. Bowen being so close to Vancouver and just a 20 minute ferry ride make this a very desirable and safe community to both live and visit
Why Jan Stevens chose Bowen Island
My father picked this location to build the cottage because of the views, easy to access all year, and the proximity to the village of Snug Cove and the marinas
What makes this Cottage unique
The Evergreen cottage is a Lindal cedar home with high ceilings , beams and windows in the living room letting in light all year. The huge cedar decking with glass panels allow the views forever both from inside and out. From the open kitchen while preparing a meal watching the ferries go by and the Cruise ships in the distance, the lights of Vancouver across the water, the deer grazing in the yard, the morning sunrise over the north shore mountains and the stars at night while sitting on the deck make this a very inviting and magical experience
