Exclusive Low Country Island Estate Excellent Choice Of Large Groups,
The Island Oak is ideally located to major tourist attractions in Charleston. From our location, the historic district is a 10 minute drive , Folly Beach is 5 miles away and several pro link golf coarse to include the Ocean Coarse at Kiawah Island, with in a 15 mile radius. The house has art and decor collected from my travels around the world with a few pieces by local artist to remind me of home. The large fenced in yard offers tons of privacy when enjoying the outdoor deck and fire pit.
No party policy: The nightly rates in this app is for lodging only for 6 guests. The outdoor kitchen/pavilion is a bonus area which is available for use at no additional charges. There is another event space , the Encore on the adjacent property. We the owner, will not book events at this property during your stay. Please don't lease this property as event space, if so an additional fee will be accessed. The house is situated on a 1.5 acre fenced lot with a gate and 165ft of driveway.
We are respectful of guests privacy and do our best to avoid contact. However, we own the adjacent (2) rental units, parking lot and the wooded lot in the rear ( total 5 acres) corner lot. We maintain our properties and make every attempt to schedule lawn care during appropriate hours, mainly when guests are not present. At no time will an employee or owner enter the property without guests request or an emergency.
Property environment: When visiting Charleston and Coastal South Carolina there are additional seasons of the year unique to this area other than Spring , Summer, Winter and Fall.
Pollen Season: March - late April. Bring allergy meds. Outdoor dining is a challenge due to blowing pollen which blankets the surfaces of outdoor furniture, vehicles etc etc. This area saturated with Oak and Pine trees.
Mosquito Season: June - September. Pack your insect repellent of choice so you can enjoy summer evening outdoors. ( skin so soft, peppermint oil and water spray) We do furnish citronella candles on the deck and outdoor kitchen. We spray the lawns with a local mixture of lemon dish washing liquid and lemon ammonia before outside events.
Hurricane Season: June - October Though you'll have ample warnings, please adhere to weather advisories and beach traffic / ocean currents warnings. Also, during summer months be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms lasting a couple hours then sunshine and humidity again.

The property is a rare find! The instructions from check-in to check out were very clear. This was hands down one of the best places we have stayed in. The home was eclectically decorated, very clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked. The outdoor space was a huge bonus and enjoyed its use!The location was perfect—close to everything but still quiet, private, and relaxing. The host was quick to respond. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch place to stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor grilling area! Spacious downstairs area was great. Clean and neat all over! We will definitely be back!

The host was very courteous, responsive in communication and this is a family-friendly location. The property is clean and spacious! I love the decor and we will utilize this property again!
Loud music late at night from neighboring house on the weekends, furniture in the house needs replaced, there alot of repairs that need made in the house. Cleanliness could be better.
We enjoyed a peaceful stay in this lovely and comfortable home. It was a perfect fit bed wise to accommodate our group of 4 adults and met all our needs. Joseph, our host was very responsive. Easy check-in and out process.
This property was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it and book again next time I'm in Charleston. The host was super responsive and went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. The spacious house and grounds allowed my family to relax both indoors and out. The beautifully decorated house was clean and had all that we needed.

The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the place was extremely clean. The host was easy to contact and replied quickly and very courteously. We thought the location and the neighborhood was very nice. We would definitely stay there again and we would highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting the area.
I needed housing that was very convenient to downtown Charleston - this was an excellent location. I needed secure WiFi - no problems there. And, I needed a quiet environment - it was perfect. The grounds and outside accommodations let me enjoy nature after a stressful day. It was all good!

Everything was just as expected and the weekend stay was flawless. The property is excellently maintained, and access is very simple. I would definitely book this property again.
Excellent location for all Charleston has to offer. Neighborhood was quiet, safe. Loved outdoor spaces for grilling, games, smores. Host was incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive. Kitchen was well equipped, and all the beds were very comfortable. Home does need some cosmetic repairs.
Wow! Stop looking and book this home. It's exactly what we needed. We explored the surrounding areas which were only 15 minutes or less away so the location is perfect no matter if you're wanting to spend time at the beach, plantations, museums, shopping orjust relaxing.
The house is beautiful and the owner was very nice to talk to. We had a great time and would return again in the future.

This beautiful 3000 square foot home, sits on a large fenced lot of over an acre. Guests can enjoy the live oak lined yard or relax on the deck. An outdoor kitchen (available for an additional charge) is perfect for entertaining and small gatherings. Inside the spacious game room is the perfect place to relax or entertain. The worldly decor and art showcased throughout the home were collected on my travels and years working abroad in the Middle East, Asia, and the Caribbean. The Grant offers catering service in our outdoor kitchen for 4-6 individuals featuring traditional "Gullah" local seafood cuisines, Blue Crab broils, Oyster roast (seasonal) and low country BBQ. Please plan in advance of arrival.
