Welcome to the Desmond French Lakefront Retreat. Start your mornings with a coffee & peaceful paddle on the mirrored lake, watch the kids catch a Rainbow Trout off the dock, tear it up on your wakeboard, then nap on your raft in the cove, & end your day with a BBQ & a drink on the deck while planning the final details of your Yosemite trip for the next day. Our family cabin has created unforgettable memories for generations & we are proud to share it with yours. "Nature always has a way to soothe the Soul.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Pleaae leave all bedding on beds; No need to strip beds.
Please bring all borrowed kayaks, paddle boards and paddles back up to the lawn/shed area
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Onsite parties or group events are strictly prohibited. Only those listed on the reservation may frequent the property. PLEASE amend headcount now.

I live in Ventura County, California, and I grew up in a large family of 8 children. I have a beautiful family of my own that includes three girls and we have many furry animal babies! I enjoy Hosting other families at our cabin because I absolutely love hearing how they have created family memories that last forever like I have had with my mine.

Why they chose this property

My family has been going to Bass Lake for over 80 years and the Desmond French Lakefront Retreat has been in our family for almost 40 years.
My favorite thing about our property is how serene and peaceful it is and it provides me with a soulful reset when I visit.

What makes this property unique

The location is incredible!
Staying right on the water is a game changer if you’ve never experienced it. Being able to wake up to the sounds of the lake and having a quiet coffee watching nature out the window, or over the water, is like no other. Mornings on the lake is a reset in itself with its stillness and serenity, but the evenings are just as incredible.
You can stay in the summer when the lake is “popping” with fun recreational activities, or in one of the slower and quieter times of the year. Each season brings its own special charm and peacefulness.
