Perfect house for our annual (immediate) family reunion. All 8 of us had our own bed. Loved being directly on the water. Experienced beautiful sun rises while throwing out a fishing line. Would stay here again.
Great vacation. Excellent cove. Owner kept us in the loop with regard to the weather. With recent flooding she was proactive about making sure we were aware of changing conditions. Comfortable home.
No fault of the homeowners, there was burs down to the lake whichwas painful. Other than that spot on. The lake level was a little down and we still had open access.
We really enjoyed our visit to this nice, peaceful location on a cove of Lake Buchanan. The house is charming, clean, and secluded, with a beautiful backyard where you can sit and look out at the cove. The lake level is low now, but it's still fairly easy to take the kayaks down to the shore and paddle out as far as you want into the lake. The property owner is very courteous and responsive.
We enjoyed our stay at this lakeside property. We saw deer and flock of geese at our backyard. Old house but very clean, the sunroom seems new. We spent most of our time in the sunroom overlooking the lake. All kitchen appliances are new. Will recommend for family and large group.
Lovely, peaceful setting with so much to distract you from your cares. Kayaking, ping pong, comfy spots to nap and sleep. Well cared for and well loved home!
The house was just like the pictures and had everything we needed. We had all age ranges and the house worked for everyone. The ping pong table and kayaks were a great bonus that we really enjoyed.
It was so relaxing! We never left the property. Kitchen was well equipped

Incredible
We visited this place a few years ago and had an amazing time together. It was the perfect lake vacation for my kids and grandkids to bond over fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, and playing games. The house was wonderful and had everything we could possibly need, including a high chair and pack and play, which I was incredibly grateful to find. My youngest daughter had forgotten hers, and my grandbaby is a ball of energy at bedtime, so having the kids disconnected from WiFi and able to play games together was a huge relief. This place felt like home away from home. We loved the decor and all the small things that made it so special. Especially the essentials you never realize you need until it’s too late, like a potato peeler or a blender. Luckily, this place had you covered with so many life savers and extra things you could ever possibly need! You can feel a sense of peace and relaxation in this house. Thank you and God bless! I highly recommend this place.

Decent lake house.
Upon arrival while putting away groceries I found the fridge and freezer very dirty and a lot of old mildew food inside. When going to bed my husband was shocked by a faulty extension cord next to the bed. I have a 1 year old who was there so I'm glad he didn't touch it first. This place would have been outstanding without these issues. My kids loved the canoes and fishing dock.

April, we're sorry that your stay fell flat of your expectations. The homeowner takes great pride in providing exceptional guest experiences. As part of their intensive cleaning routine to prepare the property for guests, they clean and sanitize the interior and exterior of the refrigerator. We can assure you it meets high standards and doesn't show signs of any mildew or mold. As we understand, the extension cord was used before your arrival and was in perfect condition. However, upon your departure, it was found damaged and not working. We apologize if you encountered a problem with it but for this reason, encourage guests to reach out while in residence so the owner can take care of the matter promptly. As evidenced in past reviews, we're confident this home will continue to host many satisfied guests! Best, the Evolve Team
Our stay was very relaxing. We are sad the water line is down 20 feet. But that is just the way it is sometimes. We had everything we needed at the house, kayaks, table tennis, plates, utensils, towels etc. You only need to bring clothes and food. Easy to get to. Very quiet neighborhood tucked away from the world. If you are looking for a fun place with lots to do if you want to... or just to sit around and do NOTHING... this is a great economical place. Our property owner was very quick to answer questions, make suggestions, and take care of anything we needed. Very happy with the overall experience, and will do it again soon.
The kayaks all had holes. I had to unload dishes and laundry that were not mine. There was glass on the floor from a broken window that did not get cleaned up right. The dock has no electricity running to it. The dock is no where near the water. Its not a private cove as advertised. The owner did nothing to make our stay the way it should have been. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. WILL NOT BE RETURNING.

Hi Lesley, we’re sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We strive to provide our guests with a great guest experience, so we were disappointed to hear your feedback and want to take a moment to address your concerns.
- After making us aware of your concerns, upon further inspection, we did discover one of the three kayaks had a leak that we were previously unaware of as we had not received any complaints from previous guests. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
- During the previous guest stay we had a severe storm that produced large hail. While there was some damage done and glass broken, we were unable to remove all of it in it's entirety from the flower beds. We proactively reached out to make you aware and requested that no one go into the flower beds. We're truly sorry this happened for your stay.
- We choose not to have electricity running to the dock for safety reasons and do not advertise as such. During this period of severe drought, the lake is substantially lower than in an average year, which is completely outside of our control, but we're sorry this had a negative impact on your stay.
- We take our listing accuracy seriously and do not advertise the property to be on a private cove, however, it is a secluded cove and there is not a public boat ramp.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Infested with SPIDERS
Get to the home and the code for the door does not seem to work. Turn the knob and the house is unlocked, it never locks through out our stay. The house smells like it’s been closed for months. Turn on the lights to the house and it has cobwebs everywhere . The dining room fan is dripping with dust. Go to plug my phone in and find our first spider. The linens smelly musty, so I decide to call the manager. This house has no WiFi, and between five cell phones we have no service. I could not call text or even email for help.
Making the best of it we go to bed and wake up to a day filled with killing spiders, they were everywhere. I go to the grocery and buy food and spider spray. I spent the afternoon vacuuming and spraying. That’s how I know the house was not cleaned, because the vacuum left lines everywhere, and I never saw vacuum lines when we arrived.
Next I go to make burgers and fire up the grill. It’s filled with dirt, debris, leaves. Clean that out, replace the tank with a new one furnished by the owner and the grill is dead. Dead Dead, can’t ever get it working. Next day my kid almost rips her toe nail off on the transition between the carpet and the tile. A huge metal white transition is not nailed or screwed down it’s just sitting between the two floors and my kid was lucky enough to find that. My three year old wakes up screaming from her nap and she was bitten by a spider. An hour later it turns out she was bitten by a brown recluse spider. Later I was trying to figure out why a burner would not work on the stove, pull the burners off and lift off the top of the stove To find it filled with solid grease. The last night we stayed in our Class A RV to avoid anyone else from being bitten. I have documented photos of how filthy this house was. Would have loved to call for help, could never get service to call for any.

Stacey, we're sorry to hear your stay fell short of your expectations. While spiders can slip inside homes in this area at this time of year, we can confidently confirm that the home is not infested with spiders and the homeowner regularly sprays the entire property. Additionally, while we do not advertise WiFi for this home, cell service has never been an issue for any guest in the past; however, we're sorry that you were unable to reach out and voice your concerns. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance and this owner has extremely high standards for her housekeeping team and her home. As evident by past reviews, the owner goes above and beyond for all her guests and would have immediately addressed any issues in the home. We're confident this was an isolated incident and we'll continue to host many satisfied guests moving forward. Best, the Evolve Team
We had a very good time at Ruthies getaway. The family cooking and serenity of the area was very enjoyable. The house layout for the family was good, fully supplied utensils. Plentiful supply of towels, paper products
The only negative is the listing does not say the boat dock was out of water due to low water level or that the lake was low. We had no idea. We adapted. Other than that, the time was fantastic.
Excellent communication with host. All linens clean and plenty of space. Everything you’d need in the kitchen. Nice quite property and neighborhood. We’ll rent again!
This place was even better than pictures. It's on a private cove with no boats coming through, the beachy walk-in was great for the kids and the water was so clear. The house was stocked with anything you would need! We are already planning to book here again for next year.
This was a great little get away from the big city. We were able to fish off the dock and catch some nice sized catfish. The boys kayaked all over the lake and had a great time. Look forward to coming back.
This listing was great - it was a quiet property right on the water with a dock for the kids to swim off of. All around awesome!

House was nice very clean and lots of room. Yard needs a lot of help. Trees need to be trimmed. You listed 2 bathrooms but one was so hot you could not use it. Screen doors need to be fixed the were all torn. The handle inside the front door kept falling off. We did enjoy our stay. The dock was awesome kids had fun fishing. Price was good as well.
