30th Alumni reunion
The FarmHouse Inn was just perfect for 6 ladies celebrating a 30th class reunion. It was spacious with so many bedrooms and had everything we needed plus more. 2 bathrooms with showers and a large kitchen and family room.....plus being out in the peace and quiet of the country made it the perfect place to all hang out. We loved it💞💞👍

Cows and sky
Going to Dakota Days and nothing left in Vermillion. Lots of space and lovely home! The host left a bottle of wine for us from local winery which was such a nice touch. The barn cat was friendly. Lots of cows and sky everywhere!

About the host

Host profile image
As 2024 kicks off our 7th season, we look forward to seeing old friends, making new ones and providing a space for families to celebrate and gather. We also look forward to having our family join us occasionally with our busy grandkids.
Starting in 1947, 3 generations of Kleinschmits have called the FarmHouse home.
Cletus and Mary Kleinschmit built it and we are now the caretakers. We're are grateful to be able to share it with you and with your support, it will be here for their great, great grand children and future generations.

Why they chose this property

The location of the FarmHouse Inn is very central, being within a radius of 10-30 miles of 5-6 towns and a great deal of recreational facilities. It is also easy access, being on a state highway, but still in the country. It's quiet, can watch the stars, neighbors are at a distance.
The home is filled with pictures, books, toys and other sundry items reminiscent of the family, to make you feel at home. One guest said, "The house is spacious, comfortably furnished, and extremely 'homey' (in the best way!)."
Quoting another, "The house had a lot of room and allowed 12 of us to stay comfortably!"
Please contact me know if you have any questions.

What makes this property unique

The FarmHouse is in a good location to visit villages along the Missouri: swimming and boating at Lewis and Clark Recreation Area by Yankton, USD Music Museum and wonderful eateries and breweries at Vermillion, SD. We're 9 miles north of Hartington to lay in supplies. If you're interested in seeing churches and their architecture is your thing, there's spectacular ones, starting with Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Bow Valley, just a few miles southeast. Be sure to stop at the Nissen Winery, just 2 miles southeast, for wine tasting.
