Summer and Winter RETREAT for a couple that just wants to escape or groups up to twelve. No other property has a softball field in summer and a skating rink in the winter with a warming hut! Watch Bald Eagles fish from the living room or the thousands of geese and ducks that feed in the adjacent fields during migration.

This secluded riverfront property is on the shores of the Missouri River which has been declared a National Recreation River managed by the National Park Service. Enjoy beautiful views of the river and its wildlife. Also enjoy river activities, such as swimming, fishing, kayaking, campfires, and lounging on its large wrap-around deck. Water activities are seasonal but the views are year-round. Restaurants are 5-10 minutes away and extensive shopping within an hour's drive.

Our family had an awesome time here. Having the beach area was amazing for the kids and adults. We were able to swim, fish, and just hang out together. In the evenings there are several places for us to gather and relax. Inside, there was plenty of room for kids and adults to stretch out or play. We had a wonderful time!

Golf Trip Getaway - Little Slice of Heaven

The property provided a group of 8 guys the ability to spread out and enjoy a weekend golf trip. There were plenty of sleeping spots, plenty of bathrooms and best of all, the ability to watch golf, play billiards and sit by the river while relaxing with a drink.

This place was great. Had trouble finding a last minute hotel space in Yankton and was SUPER happy it worked out we got this place instead. Very clean and well maintained. Lots of space, especially the master suite. Wish we could have been outside more but there was a crazy wind storm! Highly recommend this place!

2023 Family Vacation

What a great property for a family vacation this was! We stayed 4 nights with 6 adults and 4 children ages 4-9, everyone had a great time. We spent most afternoons on the beach with the kids in the water and enjoyed a fire with S’mores every night. Just left this morning and the grandchildren are already asking if we can return next summer!! (Equals Success)

Our multiple family experience was great. Location right on the water allowed all adults to relax, play games, go boating and fish as we desired. Close to Yankton if supplies were needed. 50th Parent's Celebration

We loved our stay at this property. Location was great for it was at the end of a road. We loved the picnic shelter area by the river. We sat there as the kids fished off the bank. It was so peaceful. There was plenty of room for the 12 of us! The pool table downstairs was so nice and our children used it a lot. First time to Yankton and we loved it.

Family Get Together

Hosted a family get together, with my children and their families traveling from Pierre, SD, Waterloo, IA and Omaha, NE, and I live in Lincoln. NE. Weekend amounted to fishing, boating, swimming. Would definitely do this again if we can get everyone together.

GRRRRREAT place to stay!!! We loved this place! The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars with the "Accuracy of Online listing" is because there is no longer a fenced in back yard or dock, or outdoor hot tub as the pictures show (with little kids around, and the river, we were quite nervous without the fence) BUT.....they had kids' life jackets there for us to use, which was REALLY nice! Aside from that, an AWESOME PLACE!!!! We will be returning!🙂

Family Vaca

This was a nice house with nice furnishings. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, glasses, plates and silverware. There was a simple supply of cookware and utensils to cook with. We had hoped for a little more beach and nice swimming at the property. It was a small beach and there is a strong current on the river. However, there is a little 10x20 foot pocket of water that is not in the current thanks to the edge of the shoreline. Overall a nice stay.

Girls Trip

5 friends decided to take a girls trip to Yankton and this location was perfect! Quiet and spacious but still a very quick drive to fun, local spots. The home layout offers opportunities for both play and rest. Great kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Thoughtful items like fans, hairdryers, soft blankets, and nice pillows can be found throughout. The view of the river was very nice. We enjoyed lots of time outside by the beach, s’mores at the bonfire, cards and chatting in the gazebo, grilling, and stargazing. Lots of indoor space and activities in case of bad weather too. Hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend.

If I could give it more than five stars I would. Every room in the house was either brand new or almost new. Each room planned and thought out perfectly! Towels , bedding, etc. laid out in each room as if you were in the finest of hotels. Master Bedroom was amazing with personal washer and dryers. Separate bathroom with additional set of washer and dryer for other guests on main floor. So many gathering rooms to relax and enjoy each others company. Enough tv/entertainment rooms for young children to have their own area while adult had the choice of the main living room or fully furnished area to play pool, air hockey or just relax and watch tv. Not only was there a spectacular kitchen area for cooking but another "sink/refrigerator "entertainment area to store extra drinks, etc. We were only 8 utilizing the four bedrooms but there is plenty of room to sleep for 12 when taking into consideration the pull out and basement space. Huge riverfront area for family games, etc. Kitchen was stocked with nice dishes, glasses,, two coffee makers, blender, pots and pans. The only items lacking were some serving platters for dinners and a couple of utensils like a whisk and potato peeler (which is so very minor but thought I would mention to owners as these would be useful cooking utensils). Also beautiful towel sets left in each bedroom for each person were missing washcloths. Like I said so very minor but since the owners seem to want to make everything PERFECT for renters I thought it best to mention. The artwork throughout the house was beautiful and fitting to the rest of the well thought out custom house. The dining area fit 8 comfortably but could be stretched to 12 with the additional leaves. Plenty of seating in dining room, living room area and around kitchen barstools. The guest bathroom on the mainfloor had a beautiful sunken tub , although personally I would prefer a shower as our group could have used another shower instead of a tub but that is just personal preference. As I said if I could have given this place more stars I would have. The owners were very easy to deal with and very responsive. GREAT FAMILY VACATION CELEBRATING OUR DAD'S 85TH BIRTHDAY !!!!!

One of our favorite rentals!

Our kids and grandchildren joined us at the River House for 4 nights of some wonderful family bonding. The home was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was well supplied, and we were very impressed with the cleanliness. We had the large beach all to ourselves and the 5 small children had a wonderful time playing in the shallow water. (with life jackets) We fished, (unsuccessfully) practiced skipping stones, canoed, collected rocks and driftwood, and threw them back into the water. We went for walks along the shore line, and enjoyed the river view during the day, and stars in the night sky. We created so many cherished memories and would definitely rent this property again.

South Dakota graduation celebration!

Brought in family and 4 fraternity friends for my sons graduation from grad school. The property was perfect for our party of 8. Plenty of eating room, 2 kitchens and natures beauty every morning and evening with sunrise and sunset over the river was breathtaking. Perfect house for our group. Breakfast and lunch at home eith evenings out to dinner…it couldn’t have been a more perfect vacation!

Why they chose this property

I grew up on the Missouri River and jumped at the chance of owning a truly unique property with lots of privacy and plenty of riverfront. We wanted a place to use when we visit family and friends. If you want leave your RV for awhile, you will not find more comfortable beds! The estate has over 2 acres of lawn area - I think it's time to build a softball field - field of dreams on the River.

Based on our experiences staying at vacation rentals we wanted to make sure we had extra comfortable mattresses, clean and organized living areas with amenities you can count on-

PS we have setup a skating rink weather permitting.
