Our many trips to Whidbey have found us trying different properties and the Freeland area is one of our favorites. Kelley's updated cabin home is pretty much all you want in a beach property. Steps to the sand, a beautiful view, and smart stylish - but not precious - furnishings. King bed in the primary with a view of the water and/or the stars was a highlight. Things to know and bring beachy appreciation for: it's chilly in the cabin in the winter. This means a system of various heaters and sources of heat differing in each room that require some attention and adjustment. No big for us, but worth noting. It also means you get to enjoy the cozy delightful fireplace insert (and firewood to boot). We used the well-appointed kitchen for real cooking and did fine. A broken freezer was not noted before arrival, but a workaround was provided quickly when mentioned. Electric vehicle charger was a great bonus for us. Kelley was prompt and attentive with communication and making sure we settled in.
