About this property
Charming Hearthstone Flat: Your Chic KC Hideaway
Step into this beautifully designed guest house where comfort meets style, thoughtfully furnished with warm wood tones and soft textures for a calming, home-away-from-home atmosphere. The open layout includes a cozy living area, a stylish dining space, and a fully equipped kitchen.
Perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, this apartment features a private entrance and natural light. Whether you’re in town for work or play, this space offers everything you need for a comfortable, memorable stay!
*The Space*
This is a private unit located in the walk-out basement of a single-family home in a quiet suburban neighborhood. The space has been fully separated from the main residence, offering guests privacy and comfort throughout their stay. Ideal for travelers seeking a calm, residential setting with easy access to nearby amenities.
*Guest Access*
The unit is accessible via a private entrance located at the rear of the property. Guests will follow a brick pathway, down several steps, along the side of the house, which leads to the entrance. The pathway is illuminated in the evening to provide safe and convenient access at all hours. This arrangement ensures privacy and ease of entry without interaction with the main residence.
PLEASE NOTE: During the winter months, though we regularly shovel and treat with salt, the brick pathway leading to the entrance can be laden with a mild amount of ice or snow. This rental is therefore not suitable for those with any ambulating difficulties. If the rental is booked, and any such guest realizes they cannot safely walk the steps and chooses to not complete their rental will not receive a refund as this is clearly stated in the rental description. We have not had any complaints about the pathway thus far but this should still be a consideration when booking.
*Parking*
Street parking is available for 1 vehicle (the HOA does not allow more than this unfortunately). The driveway is reserved for the main residents, though the right side is always left open for guests to be able to freely access the pathway to the rental.
*Other Small Details*
The unit is furnished with a single queen sized bed. A roll-away memory foam foldable bed OR a comfortable queen air mattress is available upon request for a fee of $25 to accommodate additional guests. The space is ideal for 2 guests - 3 or 4 is possible, though it’ll be a bit of a tight squeeze.
The main residents of the home do have a dog and cat duo. They work hard to maintain a quiet and peaceful atmosphere for any guests, but from time to time, guests may hear some muffled noises (the cat Tuna especially loves to hear her little paws hit the hardwoods floors and runs around just for the sake of sound). The dog, Cooper, can intermittently be spotted at the front of the house, however he will always be on a lead, and is very friendly - any barks are a "hello" and not a "go away"! There have been no complaints in this regard.

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer Tokarev
Hi there! My name is Jennifer (however most people call me Jo) and I'm a cardiac surgery PA. I share a home with my fiancé, Kelton, who is a police offer by trade, and our two fluffy pets: Cooper, a big but gentle fluffy polar bear of a dog, and Tuna, our seemingly-always-hungry kitty. I find that the times when we feel most alive is when we’re either enjoying the ocean or the mountains - really anything that involves the great outdoors. When we grow up, we’d like to be people whose life remains adventurous no matter where our age takes us!
