We couldn’t have asked for a better home base to explore Kansas City. We loved the tree-lined neighborhood and huge green space/park for morning walks. We were minutes away from great food and great art and awesome vintage stores (and any other kind of shopping you’d want to do.) The updated first floor unit was clean and comfy and equipped with plenty of towels, kitchenware and bedding. Loved it.
The apartment was a great place to stay! We had both our dogs and were able to walk them each day in the park. We stayed 3 nights and loved the apatment lay out and cleanliness. Everything we wanted to do was within 8 miles of us. Great place!
The property itself was very nice it looks just as is in the pictures. There was great communication with the host. They had the cutest conversation jar there that I thought was such a cute touch.
My family and I went on a quick vacation to enjoy a concert at Arrowhead. It was a quick drive to everything we wanted to enjoy. Very clean and cute apartment. Perfect for what we needed!
We enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and well supplied. Two things I think need fixing, the front steps and sidewalk and a safety bar in the shower/bathtub. I would also add some lights and flowers on the porch. I liked that the house is walking distance to the Art Institute and the Memorial Gardens and a nice walking neighborhood in that direction. Too bad that the nearby Troost St. is a rundown area.
Overall the spot was nice and sufficient for our trip to KC. As others have mentioned the place is definitely a bit old and you can hear that in the creaky floors. There is parking available on the driveway but it is only suitable for a smaller car. However, there is plenty of street parking which makes this not much of a factor. The condo is right next to a park which was nice for morning walks and it is a short drive from some of the sites to visit in KC.
The location was great, allowed short travel times to places we had planned out. All it needs is a little updating and a deep clean. There weren’t any hand towels, and had dirty silverware in drawers. That’s all!!! The bed was super super comfy ! Thank you loved it!
Coming in town for a game or to bring your child to college? We had such an enjoyable stay.
My husband, son, family dog, and I stayed in this clean, well appointed home near The Nelson-Adkins Museum and Country Club Plaza for ten days. This was the perfect spot. The kitchen was well equipped to cook a few meals instead of eating out every meal. We spent every morning enjoying our coffee on the front porch, walking our dog, meeting other dog walkers, and chatting with our neighbor from Ireland. The museums, restaurants, and stores were all within a few minutes of our base - and we never had to look for a parking spot! Book this home!!
We stayed one night on our way through to Kansas. Although, as stated, it's an older property, it has been renovated very nicely and the decor is lovely. Communication with Lance was easy and fast. Two items which could have been better are: the two pull-out sofa beds do not have blankets available anywhere on the property. Our grown sons had to make due with the extra sheets in the closet. Also, we got in after dark and there wasn't a light shining on the house numbers. Because the property is up off the road, we had to get out of the car and look for it. Thank you for having us!
The neighborhood is lovely. As others have mentioned, proximity to the Nelson Atkins art museum, Plaza shopping area, and great parks for walking are a huge draw. We had our dog with us and encountered lots of friendly neighbors while on our walks.
The house itself is very old, and it shows. I wouldn’t call it “beautifully renovated” as the listing does… Some parts of the wood floor were so soft that I felt like the floors must be rotting underneath. Not much privacy - there’s no door to the bedroom, and the bathroom door is misaligned so it doesn’t close all the way and “locks” with a rickety latch. The neighbors above our unit weren’t being loud at all, the floors are so creaky that every time they walked around it was very noisy (not great for light sleepers).
No complaints about the amenities. Kitchen appliances all work, and it was nice to have adjustable AC throughout the house on a hot midwestern day.
This is as a great place to stay while in Kansas City. It is located in a quiet and safe feeling historic neighborhood. There is a beautiful park with walking trails one block away. Down that path is a great park with splash pad and playground. Up the hill is the beautiful Art Museum and nearby that is the Country Club Plaza district. The vacation rental accommodations were great with almost everything we needed. I would have liked more blankets in the unit. It was an old house with creeky wood floors but modern conveniences such as air conditioning. There are also ceiling fans in each room. The kitchen was fully equipped and modern. The queen bed was very comfortable. We brought air mattresses for our kids so I am unsure about the couch beds. Every evening we enjoyed the front porch swing and watched Fireflies in the yard. So fun! The neighbors were all very friendly as well and we enjoyed visiting with them. Kansas City itself impressed us with its friendly people, safe feel, and clean downtown. The restaurants we ate at were amazing. We went to Union Station and the World War I Memorial and Museum which were both impressive. Overall I would recommend this vacation rental and KC. We will be back!
Cozy unit in lovely neighborhood; The best property management
We loved this unit, and the management team! We live in an old house with updated amenities and decor, and this property made us feel at home. From the hardwood floors, large windows, and plaster walls, to the abstract art, new furniture, and nice layout, this place was an incredible value and comfy place to be together as a family. We were in KC for my husband's heart surgery, and needed a pet friendly place close to The Plaza, with a safe neighborhood to explore with the kids in our down time. This location exceeded my expectations. Gillham Park is at the end of the street, and the neighborhood provided a great place to take walks and look at other great old homes. There are even a couple dog parks within a less than ten minutes drive. Our manager Shay, could not have been more accommodating. She was friendly, understanding, and prompt. Our check out date changed a couple time due to my husband's hospital stay, and it was easy to extend our stay. I had a few needs/requests during my stay, and Shay responded immediately and resolved everything I presented to her. What could have been a very stressful visit to the city ended up being comfortable and relatively easy because of having a great place to stay. We will definitely stay in one of their properties again!
I was in town to visit some family and the property location was close to Westport and my family. The unit is perfect size for me or a couple. It is walkable to Westport and a pretty central location to KC in general. The property, furnishings and location were all fine and as described.
I stayed two night and the first night was fine. The only issue that I had either night was that when the front door is a key pad security door. It is fine when leaving because you can make sure it locks by checking it. Unfortunately, it is not as easy to check it from the inside and there was no other deadbolt or locking device on the door. I came home and went to bed the second night of my stay and at 5:30 am I was awoken to the sound of the front door opening. I immediately saw that a person had entered the unit. I got up to realize it was a man in his 20’s. I confronted him and told him to leave the property. He mumbled something that was incoherent. I assumed he was under the influence of something. I told him to leave again and he did. I then put a chair in front of the door. I don’t know who the person was or how they got in, but it was a very scary experience. I have stayed a VRBO’s many times and never encountered anything like this. The locks/security at this location needs to be improved.
Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
It was a pleasant stay. Enjoyed the tree lined streets and the park across the way. The bed was comfortable and the place was cozy. The owner was very considerate in contacting us in case we needed any thing.
