Welcome to Anchors Away - it's always a great day to be at the beach!

Anchors Away is a bright, comfortable home in Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula. It sits midway along Beaumont Drive, a quiet street with no through traffic, with Highway 87 at one end and the beach at the other. Walk or take a golf cart down Beaumont Drive to the beach access at the end of the street. The drive-on beach access for cars is two streets over.

The house sleeps 10 in 3 bedrooms, all on one living floor, up 28 outside stairs. Vaulted ceilings open up the living room, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has quartz counters, stainless steel appliances, a tile backsplash and a pantry, with a refrigerator and freezer, a dishwasher, an oven and range, and a microwave over the range. The kitchen is fully equipped, including cake pans, a single-cup pod coffee maker that uses standard K-Cup pods, a drip coffee maker, a crockpot and a blender. Six stools at the kitchen island and a table with 4 chairs give you 10 places to eat, one for everyone staying.

The master bedroom has a king bed, a large walk-in closet and its own bathroom with a tile walk-in shower and a rain shower head. Bedroom 2 has a king bed. Bedroom 3 has 2 twin-over-full bunk beds and sleeps 6. The hall bathroom has a tub and shower. There is a Roku TV in every bedroom and in the living room, and every bedroom has room-darkening shades. A full-size washer and dryer are in the hall, and the house has electric central air and heat. We furnish this house for families, with no glass on the tables.

The back yard is fully fenced, and the stairs and the shaded area under the house are inside the fence. With the gate at the top of the stairs closed, children and dogs can go out the door, down the stairs and into the yard without leaving the fence. The custom play set has 2 swings, a slide and a fort, and it is set into the ground so it does not move.

Under the house there is a bar for food prep with 6 stools, a table with 4 chairs, a charcoal grill, and an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water for rinsing off after the beach. Please bring your own charcoal and lighter. Upstairs, most of the deck is covered, with an uncovered section at the front for sun. The deck has a table with 4 chairs, 2 loungers and 2 tall chairs with drink holders.

From the front deck there is an ocean view looking down the road. The bay and the Intracoastal Waterway are off in the distance, and you can watch the barges move along the Intracoastal Waterway. The house itself is not on the water.

Parking is free for 5 vehicles: 3 in the driveway and 2 under the house. A boat trailer can back under the house in place of the 2 cars and still leave the driveway for 3.

Gregory Park is two streets away, close enough to walk or take a golf cart without going on the highway. It has a basketball court, a baseball field, a covered pavilion and a large open area to run and play. Restaurants and stores, including The Big Store, are a short drive along Highway 87 in Crystal Beach.

We leave starter paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags and a starter packet of coffee with filters. This is enough to get you started, not enough for a full week. For a longer stay or a larger group, plan on bringing more. Bath towels are provided. Bath towels must stay inside the house, so please bring your own beach towels.

Pets are welcome with prior approval, and so are gatherings of up to 20 people.
HOUSE RULES - ANCHORS AWAY
By reserving this property, you agree to the house rules below.

1. The primary renter must be 25 or older and must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum overnight occupancy is 10 guests.
3. Gatherings are welcome with prior approval, up to 20 people - family reunions, weddings, birthdays and get-togethers. The event count and the sleeping count are separate. We do not host prom, graduation, or bachelor/bachelorette-type parties.
4. SMOKING: No smoking or vaping inside the home, and nowhere the smoke or vapor can drift back in - that means not on the deck and not near any door or window. Smoking is fine at ground level under the house, well away from the doors and windows. Please put butts out safely and do not leave them in the yard, over the rail, or in a planter. Any evidence of smoking or vaping inside the home, or anywhere the smoke or vapor reaches it, results in a $300 fee.
5. PETS: Adult pets are welcome with prior approval - no pets under a year, and pets must be house-broken. Dogs of any size are welcome, up to 4 adult pets. The pet fee is $100 per stay for up to 2 pets, plus $50 per pet for up to 2 more. Any pet on the property pays the pet fee, whether it stays inside the house or outside. Pets stay off all furniture and beds - please bring your own sheets or blankets to cover anything your pet will be on. Clean up after your pets inside and out. Undisclosed pets result in additional fees, and a $150 fee applies if the pet rules are not followed. Trained service animals as defined by the ADA are exempt from the pet fee; emotional support, comfort and therapy animals are treated the same as pets.
6. Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out are by request.
7. Please leave the ceiling fans, air conditioning, heat and dehumidifiers running at all times, including at checkout.
8. Before checkout: start the dishwasher, start a load of towels, empty the refrigerator, and take all trash out to the outdoor cans.
9. Do not pour grease, oil or food waste down any drain. It damages the sewer pumps, and a repair and cleaning fee will apply.
10. Indoor furniture, bedding, pillows, linens and towels stay inside the house.
11. The charcoal grill stays at ground level under the house and may not be taken to the beach or off the property. No fires of any kind on the deck.
12. Park in the driveway and under the house only. No street parking, and please do not block a neighbor's driveway.
13. No RV hookups and no electric vehicle charging at the house. Either one results in an additional charge.
14. Golf carts may not be driven along Highway 87.
15. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM. No amplified outdoor music after quiet hours. At any hour, day or night, please keep the noise at a level that never carries to our neighbors or bothers them.
16. Obnoxious behavior will result in immediate removal from property.
17. Guests are responsible for any damage during the stay. An additional cleaning or damage fee may apply if the home is left in poor condition.
