Cindy and Jay are wonderful hosts and the cottage, with its comfortable furnishings and large picture windows, is perfectly situated to enjoy the spectacular views and lovely sunrises across Rangeley Lake to the Saddleback Ski Area in the distance. Great location, large dock with steps into the crystal clear water for swimming and even a grill and fire pit in the spacious lawn. We fell in love with the cottage in 2024 and returned again in 2025.

Wonderful stay

Rangeley is incredibly beautiful, and this was a great location, You cannot be the view. The house was well stocked, clean, and easy to figure out. Had a wonderful time...no complaints.

Longview Cottage Rangeley

Longview Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. The interior of the cottage was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities that we could want. The view from the living area was spectacular, we have never stayed at a cottage so close to the water. We brought a boat so the perfect dock was key to our vacation. Cindy communicated with us promptly after every question. The location to the nearby village and Rangeley was nearby for shopping and dining out . We definitely will be visiting Longview cottage again.

Everything we hoped it would be!

Beautiful Views and Comfortable Accommodations

We spent a week in Rangeley and enjoyed our stay in your cottage. The accommodations were comfortable and very clean. Beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Water was a little chilly but we went in and enjoyed floating on our raft. My husband and I have decided this will be our 1st choice for future vacations and will 100% rent this property again.

We had another memorable vacation at Longview. This was our second stay. The heat pump and cornhole were a great addition. Location is second to none! Very comfortable stay. Will be back again!

A fantastic vacation

I just spent my third week at Longview cottage and it could not have been better. This rental simply has the best of everything with all of the amenities one could possibly need and a view of Saddleback mountain that is unmatched. Swimming off of the dock was great and when I rented a boat I was able to tie off right there and have lunch. Top that off with the fact that Jay and Cindy are most gracious hosts and you can't go wrong with this rental. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Stay

This was our first time at Rangeley Lake and we had a great time. The cottage was perfect...well equipped, clean, and comfortable. The location on the lake made for the best views of the lake and mountains. The dock and floating swim dock were so much fun for my son to fish from, jump off, and swim to. The owners were very helpful in helping us arrange a boat rental and making themselves available for questions. I highly recommend the property and my family and I will likely return next summer. Perfect Vacation

Our two-week stay was excellent! The views across Rangeley Lake to Saddleback Mountain are absolutely spectacular. The house is spotless and well appointed with all the amenities we needed and many special extras besides. The property has a large, up-to-date dock and the waterfront area is perfect for swimming, fishing, grilling and relaxing. Daily visits from two beautiful loons and cute little families of ducks. The surrounding area is gorgeous with lots of lakes, mountains, trails and sites to visit. Well-stocked grocery stores and restaurants are in easy driving range. We loved our stay and would gladly return again.

Beautiful cottage -right on the lake!

This was our seventh summer renting on Rangeley Lake and this cottage is one of the best we've stayed in. The on-line property description was spot on. Very nice sunny grass area with fire pit, beautiful dock with seating, swim dock and great location with a full view of the lake and Saddleback Mountain. The cottage is new, beautifully maintained and very comfortable for a family of four with every amenity you need, especially in the kitchen, nothing was missing. Cindy and Jay are very nice and want to make sure you have a great vacation. Highly recommend.

Longview 2024

3rd year in a row staying at Longview cottage. It gets better every year. Cottage is new & spotless upon arrival, has everything you need for your stay. Area is very quiet & peaceful, neighbors are very friendly. The view of the lake, mountains & sunrise are breathtaking!! Water front is cristal clear, great for swimming & paddle boarding. So many great places to hike, we did Tumbledown, Saddleback, Crocker Mtns, all very close & Bald Mtn only a few minutes away. Definitely a 10+ out of 10, highly recommend Longview cottage. Awesome week at Longview

We have stayed at many camps in Maine, Rangeley Lake to Ambajejus Lake. Longview cottage on Rangeley Lake is by far the best ever !! The ever changing sunrise to the incredible moonrise over the very majestic Rangeley Lake. Cabin is updated & spotless. Location is very private & peaceful, close to Oquossoc & lots of hiking trails. Beautiful boat dock, great for swimming & paddle boarding or just taking in the views of Saddleback Mtn. Owners were great to work with & always available if any problems occurred. This camp is definitely a 10+++ Tammy & Dave

The mountain view is amazing ,clean ,comfortable !

We've done alot of vacationing over many years. Mostly renting through Lodge's ,motels and hotels. About 5 years ago we started renting house's, camps and condo's through various web sites. By far this camp on a lake is the best. You can not get any closer to the lake. Can't even build this close any more. The mountain view's across the lake are amazing. located in a great spot for visiting Rangeley, close to everything. Well stocked wood pile for fires and a wonderful dock to fish off of. The cabin has everything you need just show up and relax. The owners Cindy & Jay make sure you stay is perfect from start to finish. I would tell everyone to rent this cabin.

Fantastic Rangeley Vacation

The home, location, and homeowners were amazing! Could not have asked for a better experience! We were lucky enough to spend the 4th of July here. Fireworks that night, full moon, Saturn, and Venus in full display as well. The home was very clean upon arrival. The kitchen is well stocked from a blender to a crockpot, to a rolling pin we used for making pizza. The ever changing view was captivating every day. We rented sup's, kayaks, and a pontoon boat. And found plenty of time to just float on the lake. Loons and eagles everyday for our entertainment. We didn't turn the TV on until Thusday night! We really unplugged. The neighbors were all very friendly. You can't go wrong staying at Longview! We made some incredible family memories. Thank you!!

A little slice of Heaven

Upon arriving at Longview Cottage, we just stood there taking in the breathtaking view from the yard and thinking how lucky are we to have found this little slice of Heaven. We stayed for a week, had the best of times, beautiful weather and the cottage had absolutely everything we needed. The cottage was also very spacious, very clean and we enjoyed many fires at the fire pit! Jay and Cindy were the best from before our arrival to after we sadly had to leave. We will definitely be returning to Longview. Rangeley is a beautiful part of Maine. You just have to go on the free Moose Tour, we saw 3 deer, a fox, a moose and two humans haha. Bald Mountain Camps is a must, make dinner reservations early, we got lucky as someone cancelled the night we wanted to eat there. We also went to Loon Lodge, The Tall Tavern and many other excursions but most of our time was spent at Longview, it was just too hard to leave to go anywhere else! Jay and Cindy have all the brochures and information readily available to really experience this beautiful area. Thank you both for our wonderful 2015 vacation memories! Henry and Gale

Gorgeous Lakeside Vacation Spot

We loved our stay at this property (July 2022). The view from the cottage was so gorgeous that it was was hard to leave! We spent most our days just sitting outside, swimming, and fishing off the dock. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Our youngest daughter loved her private loft! There is a little grocery store/quick order restaurant down the road (Oquossoc Grocery) which we got many groceries, lunches, breakfasts, baked goods, and coffees from. The best part is you can order online! There’s also an IGA in Rangeley if you need to do a bigger shopping trip. Down the road is a cute ice cream shop/farm stand called The Farmer’s Daughter. There’s also many restaurants in the area if you don’t feel like cooking. There was probably at least 5 on Main St in downtown Rangeley alone (about 15 minutes away). There were many trails and scenic hiking opportunities nearby. There’s also quite a few cute gift shops on Main St. You can rent a boat or kayaks just down the road. All in all, there’s a lot to do! Water was chilly, but refreshing. It is rocky, so be sure to bring your water shoes if you don’t like that! We enjoyed a few fires outside - and don’t forget to look up! The stars there are amazing! Thank you to Cindy & Jay for being so accommodating and opening your property to us! We hope to visit again.

Slice of Paradise

Longview Cottage is a perfect retreat to enjoy this crystal clear lake with amazing mountain views. The outdoor waterfront lawn, fire pit, dock and overall appearance were very enticing when we pulled down the drive. Once we entered the cottage, we knew our vacation would be amazing. Clean, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere tastefully decorated with pictures of local wildlife, knotty pine walls and ceilings, and cozy furnishings made us feel right at home. And truly, the host and hostess with the most-ess. Must do: get up for a sunrise. WOW. The sun rising behind the mountains across the lake is stunning. If you can catch more than one, even better. Every one was different, just like the views changing each day with the movement of the clouds, and sun hitting the water.

The perfect cottage in the most perfect setting for our honeymoon!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. This cottage was simply perfect! Everything in the description was not only exactly as stated but even better! It was very clean, had everything we could possibly need, and was nestled perfectly close to the water with an awesome dock for our boat, the most perfect firepit, patio and great flat lawn for our corn hole games. The newly added rock steps leading into the water for swimming was a great addition also!! The windows in the gable end looking over the lake was a stunning site every morning and night. This place was everything we were hoping it would be and more!

Perfect week at the lake

Longview cottage is lovely in every way. When you enter ,the view will blow you away. Its proximity to the shore gives you a full view of the lake and the mountains beyond. The cottage is clean, comfortable and stocked with all the conviences you'll ever need. The hosts, Cindy and Jay were wonderful to work with. The highlight of our stay was sitting on the dock in the evening watching the loons fishing. This is a 5 star cottage!!

Perfect week

Upon our arrival at Longview we walked into the perfectly set up clean cabin. The cabin has everything you need for your stay. From all the added kitchen items ( 2 coffee makers,a kerig and fresh drip to a blender among all sorts utensils and pitchers)to extra blankets, movies and books. The scenery is spectacular from the picturesque windows overlooking the lake. The property is in a perfect location as it is so peaceful and not a far drive to many stores, overlook sceneries and hiking or walking trails. The yard is very well maintained and has a nice fire pit as well as the wood for a nice fire. The dock is a nice place it sit and relax as it has 2 built in benches. We enjoyed out week long stay so much we cannot wait to come back. We relaxed and hiked. As much as we tried to savior every moment the week flew by and not once did we turn the TV on. Longview is a beautiful property and I feel so lucky to have stayed there.

A little piece of heaven

My husband of 40 + years and i have stayed at Longview cottage for the second year in a row now(ten days last year and two weeks this year) and it grows more lovely each time. Wonder what next year will bring. This year brought blueberry muffins from Jay's own oven. That on top of the cabin which is unmatched by anything we have rented in 40 years in terms of beauty, amenities, cleanliness, and care given by the owners Cindy and Jay. The view from the cabin which sits right on the water is outstanding beyond belief until you actually sit in the great room and just stare for hours on end. Besides visiting Canada(don't forget passports as we did this year), there is fishing right off the dock where I caught an 18 1/2" lake trout, hiking to small falls, angel falls, and cascade gorge and falls which each vie for best falls in New England, biking to Oquossoc and on Bemis road, and just plain contemplating one's navel while sitting on Jay and Cindy's dock which is clean and shiny. The best places to eat(make reservations) is Bald Mountain Camps and Restaurant at Haines Landing and Loon Lodge in Rangeley(also make reservations) but don't forget cooking in the well stocked cabin kitchen or out on the grill as you watch rainbows form across the lake. The rental price is fair and reasonable in this area and you couldn't ask for better hosts in Cindy and Jay. I suggested last year that a full length mirror be installed behind bedroom door for us short people and there it was this year. Cindy is quickly responsive to requests and emails and contacts you before visit as often as needed to insure a perfect vacation. What more can I say(well, plenty) but reserve a spot and see for yourself. Thank you Jay and Cindy for giving of yourselves for our tired, old bones. By the way, the interior of the cabin is even lovelier than the picture on this site.

Adventurous and relaxing stay

When I came across Longview Cottage I thought it was to good to be true. It was everything and more than expected. The Owners could not be more welcoming and accommodating. I spent a week at the cottage and it felt like home offering everything that we should need. The view from the cottage is very beautiful and serene. It is so relaxing sitting by the fire at night listening to the loons on the lake. There are many great places to eat in the area as well as many things to do. Cindy and Jay leave lots of information on the goings on and other things to do in the area. We enjoyed everything about our stay at Longview and cannot wait to return soon.

This property was re-done from ground up after purchasing it and is like new inside and out. We purchased this property with its magnificent views after many years of snowmobiling and camping in the State and owning another property off the lake nearby. We are Maine resident's who love to share the beauty of Rangeley and the Western Mountains with all of our guest's. We reside in Southern Maine when not enjoying Rangeley.

This is a privately owned waterfront new Cottage and you are the only guest's on the property during your stay. The views are exceptional looking down the long view of Rangeley Lake up at the Western Mountains and Saddleback. New Cottage is fully furnished and we tell guest's to bring their water socks and beach towels for a relaxing week at this Private Waterfront Cottage. Guest's really seem to enjoy their Private Lakeside Cottage for the entire week of their vacation.
