Black Bear Hideaway is the perfect getaway for families & couples! This home is very spacious & equipped with everything you need for a peaceful stay. Come soak in our brand new hot tub or sit by the fire under the stars! This home is only a short drive to Table Rock State park & Aunt Sue’s country corner. We are only 35-40 mins from the beautiful Pretty Place Chapel. We hope you love our Black Bear Hideaway as much as we do. You may even get to see some real bears!

Great communication! Clean place close to the Pretty Place and trails and waterfalls! Cute cafes nearby as well! There was a hot tub clean and working order, badminton net or volleyball, darts outdoors and a fire pit area with seating and plenty of wood! Super quiet area! Highly recommend

My friends and I stayed here for a couple nights and we loved it. The place was spacious with a homey feel. Yard has areas for volleyball, bonfires and darts. Wood was already set aside for a quick fire. Very nice hot tub set up in the back. P

Overall layout was good. Nice and semi secluded. The remote for the TV in the living room didn’t have batteries and the dryer didn’t work. The remote for the tv outside didn’t seem to work either…could have been the operator. We only stayed one night and so a short time in the hot tub and sleeping is all we did, not much else we used. The hot tub was relaxing after a long car ride.

The owner quickly responded to all questions and gave access information the day before we arrived.All information was accurate. Never saw any bears, but did see a skunk in the yard one evening. So we got to see wildlife :-)Photo of beautiful sunset clouds from the porch.

Highly recommend this property. The home is older but impeccably clean and well stocked with everything you will need. There are plenty of towels (not always the case with rental homes), hand soap, dish soap, tissues, and toiletries. Somebody clearly went out of their way to consider the little details, like the adorable decor, to make the home very cozy and inviting. Great location for Table Rock, Caesars Head, Keowee-Toxaway state parks and Lake Keowee. The Pumpkintown General Store is great for breakfast and Pickens (Main street) is about 15 minutes away for lunch or dinner.

Black Bear Hideaway is convenient to everything we were in the Pickens area to see and do: A wedding at Pretty Place Chapel and hiking. It is a quiet secluded area yet the town of Pickens with grocery and restaurants is only 15 minutes away. The cabin/house It was more rustic than we had anticipated (appliances are past their prime and loud, painted surfaces and countertops peeling, etc) but the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was a welcome relief in the 90 degree temps (NOTE: one bedroom does not have an AC/Heat vent). The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked breakfast and dinner every day of our stay. The hot tub looked inviting but the summer heat prevented us from using it. Black Bear is just minutes from Table Rock State Park which has some great hiking and even has a swimming lake! Ceasar's Head State Park in NC is about an hour drive and has great waterfall hikes and is fee free. Lots of hiking surrounds the area in almost every direction. Maryann was great communicating check-in and check-out procedures and the house was ready for us when we arrived.

Thank you for the review! All the bedrooms do have an AC/heat vent. One is under the bed. The hot tub is completely covered with a tv. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. Other guest have LOVED it.
