Too many great things to say about our stay! The hot tub was excellent! New BBQ was amazing and the way the host made the cabin feel so clean and comfortable made our stay unbelievable!
Perfect romantic getaway. Hot tub in the snow was amazing! We would definitely stay here again.

A bit disappointing
The Good:The cabin's layout was great. We have 2 teenage boys, so they took the 2 bedrooms downstairs, and we took the loft upstairs. The size of the cabin was perfect for us. We were able to cook some meals. The views were amazing, and the secluded location was very comforting.
Was everything we could have wanted in a mountain home. Host was very nice and responsive. Highly recommend!

Beautiful view and near skiing and other outdoor activities
Property is in a lovely location. Ample room for our party size of 6. Must have a 4WD due to location ( but this is what makes the lovely view), Minor issues with some of the lights (just bulb replacement) and the kitchen utensils need some updating.

Thank you for the notification on the lightbulbs. If they ever go out during a stay there are boxes of light bulbs for replacement in the house :-) I appreciate the feedback on that kitchen utensils as well.
We were very pleased wit our stay. It was a great getaway! There are times we stayat places that do no have certain needed. The kitchen was great and very nice cookware. And the views!!
We had a wonderful time for a long weekend getaway for my daughters birthday. The house was great had everything we needed. House says it sleeps 8, but I would say comfortably only 6. You definitely need to follow provided directions and in the winter need to have vehicles that can handle snow and ice. Overall it was a great location and lovely views.
The views were incredible!!! The home was perfect for us and we really enjoyed our stay! I wanted to see a moose more than anything and on our last day there, there was one outside our cabin. I was like a kid in a candy store. Beautiful animal. Thank you. I’ll be telling family and friends about your home!
We had an amazing White Christmas here! We are from Texas and don’t typically get to see snow! We definitely got our fill! There were great views from every room and I found myself asking, “Is this a dream?” Lisa was great help when needed, but make sure you have the “manual” before you head up to the mountain home. Also, purchase some Oxygen boost from the store in Fairplay. We avoided altitude sickness with this and electrolytes. We enjoyed 2 days in Copper and 1 day in Breck and 2 lazy days in the home. It was an easy drive to all the ski resorts as long as the weather permitted. We had a blast tubing and skiing in Copper Mountain on Christmas Eve! On Christmas morning, we woke up to a beautiful view of us above the clouds and a surreal view of snow showers all day! It was amazing!! We sled after presents and enjoyed the hot tub while it snowed on us! The grill was perfect for grilling our ribeyes first our Christmas dinner! The kitchen was fully equipped for us to cook our dinner each night. We preferred to cook dinner bc driving at night up the mountain was a little intimidating for a Texan. We saw cars falling in 4 feet of snow and had to be towed and cars almost sliding into us on the curves of the mountain. So take it slow and watch the weather. Download PinPoint app.
So, if I were to give you any advice:
*drink electrolytes and buy Oxygen
*Don’t be Andretti in the mountains
*Start your day early and be home before dark. There’s nothing like a warm home cooked dinner, glass of wine and cozy cabin.
*Print the manual and don’t follow the directions on VRBO.
*Print the manual bc you lose phone service
This trip was everything we asked for and even more! *We had 2 adults and 3 kids (12,9,6)
Amazing place I can’t even describe how perfect it was. I looked at hundreds of places and ended up booking this one and it was the right choice. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway that’s private this is what you’re looking for. The owner was very friendly and helpful as well, just an all around great experience.
We stayed at Lisa's cabin for the Labor day weekend and we were truly amazed by the views and all the surrounding area, on our way there we saw moose, the kiddos were so excited!
It is completely secluded were you are just surrounded by nature and all it's beauty.
The cabin has all the essentials you need, beds are super comfy, kitchen has everything you might need to prepare your meals, grill was in perfect working condition and the hot tub was the icing on the cake! Do plan on bringing all your food, beverages and lots of water as mentioned previously they are on a well system.
Thank you Lisa for an amazing stay!
The location is great, we were able to see quite a few moose! Unfortunately, we went grocery shopping before going to the house and we’re very disappointed to see that the grill is unusable and a fire hazard at best. I was nervous about the hot tub after reading other reviews, but it was sparkling clean and crystal clear when we opened it up.
I don’t know if it was an issue with the listing itself or the VRBO app but we were unable to open the driving directions. We reached out to Lisa to ask for the house number as we were literally standing on the side of the road after attempting to get into 3 wrong houses. Lisa declined to give us the house number and told us to follow the step by step directions. I let her know that the directions weren’t available so she asked that we text her and provided her phone number and then left our messages on read. We then tried to call her and she was extremely rude when she answered because we apparently interrupted a conference call that she was on and she still did not give us the house number that we were requesting. Once we were finally able to access the driving directions on the VRBO mobile site, we found the house number and located the house with no problem. She later texted us back with a link to Apple Maps which still did not include the actual house number. The communication while just trying to check in was extremely concerning. Also, some of the pictures show the house as a lighter brown and only one image shows a darker brown. The house has been painted and is a darker brown color. We attempted to get into 3 lighter color homes before we finally got the address and made it to the right destination.

Double booked
We spent 2 hours at the property. It was double booked. Other guests were already staying there. Our kids had been looking forward to this ski vacation for 5 weeks. We received a refund when we reached the owner after 2 hours. Thank you for that. An apology would have been nice. Our vacation was ruined. We could not be rebooked into comparable accommodations. We returned home. Vacation over. Ski Trip ruined. We booked 5 weeks in advance. If you are going to list on multiple sites, it's the owner's responsibility to do a cross check of calendars or pay for a service that will.
We had such a good time. The property was amazing. We couldn’t get the wifi to work but we didn’t need it. The directions given were perfect & led us right to the property.
Thank you to out host! That was such a great experience living at the top of the mountain and to enjoy beautiful views and meet incredible sunrises! The house is very cosy, just perfect for the family!
The property is tucked back in FairPlay off the beaten path. It does offer beautiful views. About 35 min drive to Breckinridge. Everything worked as expected. 3 bedrooms with 3 beds. WiFi was adequate considering the remote location. I recommend washing all utensils and cooking supplies etc.. before using . Hard water leaves a film. Property does have everything you need to prepare a meal. Kitchen has most of condiments and spices left from owner and previous renters. Plenty of firewood in the garage. Must have 4wd. Hot tub clean, private and gets to 104 degrees perfect for us snowboarders. Great stay overall especially during Covid. There were some full trash bags left from previous renter in the garage and we couldn’t find any empty trash bags so we picked some up, not a issue. Good communication and easy check in/out.

To whom it may concern:
I just want to share our experience we had this Christmas. I will start with the cooking utensil that I had to clean each time before we used them because they were covered in a film.
The pictures were deceiving
.my boys were so excited to look through the telescope and see the stars. The pictures also showed a well working grill that was a hazard to use. This grill was completely rusted out and not functionable. We had to drive to Silverhorne to get a the grill because everything was closed ($75).
We had to go buy toilet paper the 2nd day we were there for both bathrooms. I felt like we were staying at our college buddy’s house in college. There was used Shampoo and Conditioners that was left in the showers. We had to really pay attention to grab our shampoo.
I contacted the owner in early December to make sure there would be a Christmas tree for my boys when we arrive. NO CHRISTMAS TREE OR ANY LIGHTS….DECORATION???? There were many other houses that had light on at night to make child feel special.
Light bulb through the house were broken or not functionable. We had to use flashlights to navigate parts of the house after dark. . (master bedroom, ****garage)
We have stayed in cabins for our family tradition each Christmas and have never had to ask for decoration.
DERRICK FAMILY
Loved the hidden getaway for an awesome change of scenery with gorgeous white snow which we rarely see in Texas! Kids had a blast sledding outside the house, loved the fire and felt very cozy!
Enjoyed our 3 day honeymoon. Hot tub and wood burning fire place we’re great amenities. Large kitchen and internet worked great for being so remote. Would stay again.
My family and I loved staying here. It was the perfect peaceful weekend getaway for myself and my siblings. My sister hated the dirt road leading up to the house but if you take it slow and enjoy the scenery you’ll be fine. It’s worth the drive to be up in the mountains with the beautiful views. We hopefully plan on making this a yearly visit.
