Other things to note
- I manage the house for a family friend who’s currently off on an adventure, sailing his way around the world.
- There is a security camera installed for safety reasons and only monitors the driveway at the front of the house. It does not record any private areas or inside spaces. Its purpose is solely to deter break-ins and to monitor arrivals and departures at the entrance.

About the host
Hosted by Sam Du Prez
Hi, I’m Sam! Born and raised in Ghent. After staying in more than 50 Airbnbs myself, I decided to start hosting too. I’m a bit detail-obsessed — in the best way — so I enjoy making sure everything is clean, organized, and comfortable for you. Hosting lets me combine my love for travel, people, and creating a welcoming space. When I’m not hosting, I’m usually out for a run, traveling, or spending time with friends and my girlfriend.
Why they chose this property
I was drawn to this neighborhood because it offers the best of both worlds: peace and greenery at home, yet quick access to the vibrant heart of Ghent. Just steps away, you’ll find a tram stop that takes you straight into the historic center in about 15 minutes. What I enjoy most here is how easy it is to combine a relaxing stay with exploring the city—whether it’s strolling along the canals, discovering hidden cafés, or diving into Ghent’s rich history. At the same time, guests can return to a calm street with free parking, a spacious garden, and the feeling of being in a true home rather than a tourist zone. It’s a perfect balance for those who want comfort, convenience, and a local touch.
What makes this property unique
This house stands out because of its rare combination of space, comfort, and thoughtful details designed for groups and families. It’s a large home of over 300 m² with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms plus extra toilets, and multiple living areas that allow everyone to spread out. Guests love the big sunny kitchen, private garden with fire pit and BBQ, and the cinema-style living room with a 75” TV and surround sound. Free parking for three cars is a real bonus in Ghent. What also makes it unique is that I’m a local host from Ghent—always available with personal tips and recommendations—so guests get the insider experience, not just a place to sleep. The house is designed to feel welcoming, practical, and memorable, making it much more than a standard stay.
