Guest access The whole property is available to you.
Other things to note: Please note that The Evergreen is a mountain property. While a two-wheel drive vehicle can typically access the cabin, an all-wheel or four-wheel-drive vehicle is required especially in wet conditions. From November to April, we strongly advise having a four-wheel-drive vehicle for navigating snowy and wet roads. Virginia may experience plenty of dry days during these months, but conditions can be unpredictable. Take this warning seriously, as the property is located on a gravel road that, although short, contains a steep section in the last 50ft. There is a lower parking area that avoids this last section if needed. Please plan on checking in before dark. Refunds for cancellations due to weather conditions are not offered, so please be aware of these factors and prepare accordingly before booking your stay.
As The Evergreen is located in the mountains, it is surrounded by diverse wildlife, including bears. To avoid attracting animals and prevent pest issues, we kindly ask guests to clean the kitchen thoroughly every evening and ensure all food is securely stored. Please refrain from leaving any food or trash outside, as this can draw wildlife. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for all!
Please enjoy the indoor fireplace but we ask that it not be used when the outdoor temperature is greater than 65*
To help conserve firewood while still providing a great guest experience, one complimentary stocked firewood bin is included. If you'd like additional firewood during your stay, a second stocked bin is available for $35.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad you found the space peaceful, relaxing, and very clean—that’s exactly the experience we hope to create for our guests. It was a pleasure hosting you, and you’re always welcome back anytime!
When you drive straight up a hill to get to a home, you know the view will be exceptional and it was! We spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the views, and the singing of the birds. We saw a few eagles flying around as well. This home was a perfect location for our first trip to Shenandoah National Park. The home is secluded but close enough to town for whatever you need.Prena, the host is exceptional as well. She has really put a lot of thought into making your stay perfect. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, cooking oil, seasonings, and coffee (fresh ground)! In the bathroom is a basket of thoughtfulness in case you may have forgotten something. The shower has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The hot tub is great for relaxing those muscles after a hike.We have stayed at many cabins in the mountains and Prena has gone above and beyond! We highly recommend this home and thank Prena and family for sharing.

Sara, thank you so much for this wonderful review! I'm so glad the views, eagles, and birdsong made your deck time memorable, and that the home was the perfect home base for your Shenandoah trip. So glad the kitchen and bathroom essentials came in handy, and that the hot tub delivered after your hikes! Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for such kind words - hope to host you again soon!
The view and the seclusion are worth the price. We enjoyed watching the sun rise though the giant picture windows every morning. The host, Prena, communicated at every stage and made sure we had everything we needed. The description is very accurate. We appreciated everything that was included. We stayed for Fourth July 2026 with temps in the 100s, so we were not able to enjoy the outdoors as much as we would have liked. With the AC, we were very comfortable. With that view, it would be a gorgeous place to stay in the fall.

Angela, thank you so much for the 5 stars and for sharing your experience! I'm so glad the view and seclusion lived up to expectations, and that watching the sunrise through the picture windows was a highlight. Sorry the heat kept you from enjoying the outdoors more during your Fourth of July stay, but glad the AC kept you comfortable! You're welcome back anytime, and that fall view is truly something special. Hope to host you again!
