We open our home and friendship because where we live is to beautiful to not share with others. We offer a Dry cabin-1 queen bed, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, TV, and Internet access. Across the driveway from your cabin, you will have 24-hour access to a bathroom and kitchen located in main cabin. This means you will have to walk a short distance to the bathroom. We are located in the heart of The Black Hill between Hill City SD and Rochford SD. Closest restaurants are 8 miles. Closest grocery stores in Lead or Hill City about 25-minute drive.

Amy and Paul and wonderful hosts. They are very friendly and welcoming. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the area is very quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view of the hills. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Super calm and quiet location. space perfect for 2 people. Just secluded enough to escape the touristy areas, but central enough to lots of activities without a super long drive. Amy and Paul were both super welcoming and friendly, inviting us over for supper and taking us on a tour of the local scenery! Greetings from the pets was also a bonus! Would definitely book again

Well situated for fishing at Deerfield. Beautiful scenery. Access to fully equipped kitchen. Cozy cabin. Nice hot tub. Highly recommend for getting off the grid!

Hosts were very welcoming! Paul and Amy were so kind to us and our dog. Not only did they provide warm and clean accommodations, but also gifted us an album that the talented Paul recorded himself!

Amy and Paul were excellent hosts! They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. From story telling to sharing meals it was a true western experience. The bonfire and hot tub were nice to relax by at the end of the night. This is a great place to stay for anyone looking to get out of the city and meet some amazing animals and hosts!

We love being a Host to The Black Hills. Such a sense of community and magic all around here. Most guest love the comfortable country family style atmosphere. But, you can also escape and be left alone to take it all in.
Paul has been a SD resident for 30 years. He is a carpenter by day and a musician by night. Paul is a SD Hall of Fame Cowboy Musician. He has a deep voice and can take you on a cowboy journey with his music.
Amy is a Dental Hygienist so don't worry if you forget your toothbrush. She also raises micro toy Australian Shepards about 8 lbs. each. They are always a hit with the guest. Horses, cats, dogs, bunnies, chipmunks are all part of the charm.

Why they chose this property

We are located in the middle of The Black Hills, north of Hill City, in an old western mining community. You will be surrounded with adventure in all directions. Horse, 4-wheeler, side by sides, hunters, hikers, bikers and vacationers are all welcome to come experience the West and history of the area. Hill City is 25 minutes away, The Moonshine Gulch is 8 miles away. Deerfield Lake is 4 miles away. Badlands to the East, Devils Tower to the West, Spearfish and Canyon, Lead, Deadwood to the North and Custer to the South.

What makes this property unique

If you are traveling with horses, we can accommodate your needs.
RV welcome and we can provide power but, you will have to use the restroom inside for plumbing.
We have a hanging rack for deer and elk hunters.
