There is a coffee shop, restaurants, consignment shop, bar, library, thrift shops, general dollar store, hardware stores, gas stations fishing, golf all near by. The beach has a great fire pit for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over the fire!
The City of Harrisville, Michigan is on the western shore of Lake Huron and has a harbor for recreational boaters. The harbor is a center for salmon and trout fishing. It is also a designated 'Harbor of Refuge' on Lake Huron by the US Coast Guard. The Lake Huron beaches in and around Harrisville (including two state parks) have been recognized as being among the 'top ten in Michigan.' 'Old-fashioned lake vacations abound on this pretty stretch of Lake Huron.'

Harrisville, Michigan is on the edge of Huron National Forest, which offers outdoor recreational opportunities such as hunting, swimming, cross-country skiing and trout fishing. The forest contains 330 miles (530 km) of hiking trails. The Huron and Manistee National Forests were separately designated, but were combined in 1945 for administrative purposes.

Sturgeon Point Light Station, a lighthouse and museum is just a few miles to the north, and is open to the public. The town also boasts Harrisville State Park, which includes a wooded campground right along the beach.

Amazing place!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was so peaceful here & so beautiful looking out on the water especially having a fire listening to the water roll in!! Great night sleep with very comfortable beds! We would love to return!

Post Labor Day retreat

Beautiful lake house with breathtaking beach views. Excellent backyard property. We loved walking the beach and our labs loved jumping in the waves. The king bed we slept on was too soft for us with sheets that were worn and stretched thus not a good sleep - others may not have any issues . All in all - we would return.

Another fantastic stay!

We had a great time, even though the weather wasn’t the best. The way the beach front bonfire is set up, you are protected by a lot of the wind coming off of Lake Huron! We will be booking again! Thanks for sharing your wonderful place!

The Nest is the best!

We look forward to staying here every summer. Great location in a private beach community. The house is perfect and has everything you need. Lots of space. You are steps away from the sandy beach and clear water of Lake Huron. We swam every day. Great fire pit on the beach. Communication with the Owners, Ann & Mike is excellent. They are very responsive. I always look forward to seeing Ann.

Perfect vacation!

Loved this property; so peaceful and tons of room for our family of 4 plus 2 dogs. The lake was warm and clear and we practically had the beach to ourselves! House had everything we needed—no A/C but plenty of fans so we didn’t need it. Great stay!

Holds a special place...

Reardon's Nest has always held a special place in our hearts for several years. It was our first experience with renting a place on the water and we loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, the place is in need of some updates as we found to be using the same towels, as we did 7 years ago. The rugs, comforters, and throw pillows are also original to our first stay, also many years ago. We are not picky people by any means and in fact, embrace the cabin's "grandma-like" home decor and general feel. However, as mentioned earlier, some definite updates need to take place here. Finally, we had to do lots of sweeping of sand and rearranging extra clutter in the kitchen to find anywhere to put a small amount of groceries and belongings. The wood furniture all had a sticky feeling and needed to be wiped again. There doesn't need to be 30 different mugs to drink from LOL it would be great to see some updates on this lovely place!

Check was super easy. The house was great for the four of us adults. This house could easily accommodate 6 adults. The view from the house is beautiful! The beach is breathtaking and you can walk forever! My dog had as much fun as the rest of us!!! We booked for next year while in vacation!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful house!!

Another perfect stay

Another great vacation up north! The cabin is well stocked with anything you could possibly want or need, and the setting is perfect. We had the beach to ourselves the entire week. It was quiet, with gorgeous sunrises, and ample opportunity to unplug and relax on the deck, by the water, and next to a beach fire. Absolute perfection. Thank you, Ann!!!

Beautiful and Peaceful

We love The Nest and look forward to returning. The location is private, on the shoreline of Lake Huron with a beautiful, sandy beach just steps away. We swam every day. The house is well appointed and has everything you need. Beautiful deck and landscape. Zero issues with anything. Communication with Ann is easy. She is responsive; personable and attentive. Great vacation rental!

Our family of six spent a wonderful week at this house. It is actually more spacious than it appears in the photos, and the location on the beach but in the woods can’t be beat. The house had everything we needed and we enjoyed spending time on the deck and near the lake.

Great experience

We had a wonderful experience staying at the nest. It was a wooded lot with beach and water access. Plenty of firewood, outdoor grills, huge table on the deck and chairs to sit around the fire pit. The beds are comfortable, there were adequate places to store food and eating utensils etc. Bathrooms are clean. Overall I would write it a five out of five. We would stay again!

Nice quaint little cabin. Very cozy. The view and location make the place really special. Very quiet. Wifi and phone service is a little bit slow but that was fine with me. The hosts were great. Very friendly and responsive. I recommend visiting!

Perfect Lake Huron Getaway

Perfect getaway! Perfect stay! Location was secluded and picturesque but easy to navigate to. Sandy beach with great fire pit and outdoor furnishings. Kitchen fully stocked, comfortable beds, tons of games and entertainment, all the amenities of home. Very clean. Hosts were great at check in, never needed any assistance during our stay but they were available entire time. We will definitely come back! 5 🌟 Stars!

Heavenly beach house

Such a lovely and relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle. So enjoyed being right on the lake with our own HUGE beach. There's hardly a reason to leave, since you have everything right there, including kayaks!!! It was hard to go without internet service for so long (since we were there for two weeks), but that added to the feeling of truly getting away. The remoteness unfortunately also means that cell service is spotty or nonexistent, but again, that's just part of the charm :)

Amazing Getaway!

This place was perfect for our group! 3 adults, 3 Kids. Everyone had a great time. Plenty of space, amazing views! Ann and Mike were very responsive and helpful! Very nice folks who clearly take pride in ownership. Everything was homey and comfortable.
