The Space:

This super-cool two-bedroom duplex is Folly's little hidden secret! You're going to fall in love with this dog-friendly little gem, perfect for families with children or small groups of friends. You'll be surrounded by full-time residents, tucked away from traffic, and just a quick walk to the beach. A funky little Folly-style retreat, this home features a traditional queen bedroom, a loft with a full-size bed, and a futon in the multi-purpose room! You'll also have access to a full-size washer/dryer and a full kitchen equipped with countertop appliances, plenty of cookware, a dishwasher, and ample counter space to help you prepare tonight's home-cooked meal. The living room's mounted TV is perfect for movie nights with the kids, and there is another TV in the main bedroom as well. The full-size gas grill will make an evening with friends fun and enjoyable. The home also includes a nice sun deck, an outdoor shower, and a hammock to relax in the shade. The kids will love being a hop, skip, and jump away from the beach, and afterward, everyone will enjoy winding down with the provided board games.

I had a great stay. It was close to the beach, so carrying an umbrella and a bag to the beach was no issue. The best feature was the outdoor shower! Loved that it had hot water..

The location and the rental were perfect. It was nice being in the quieter side and we biked anytime we wanted to go to restaurants. I loved the outdoor shower and being able to rinse off after the beach.

Great location and dog friendly!

Beach Bum Bungalow was the perfect getaway for the holidays! The house is perfectly located 2 minutes walking to the beach and about 15 minutes walking (1 mile) to downtown Folly. The house was very clean and had the essentials for a few days. The beach is off-leash friendly in the mornings and the town is very dog friendly. Highly recommend for a week or weekend getaway!

Cute, quaint place. Got the job done. Would recommend air mattress in place of the futon for an adult. The futon would be perfect for elementary student sizing at max.

Was just what I wanted

It was a very close walk to the beach. It's about a mile to town which was perfect for me. I could walk to town if I wanted, but was far enough away that I didn't have to deal with the crowds and traffic.

Quiet location - almost zero traffic, yet easy access to the beach. I would suggest the home add a few more amenities, such as basic cleaning supplies (we had a spill and had to go get cleaner), and a few more kitchen supplies (like a cookie sheet - we had to improvise ;) ).

We really liked Beach Bum Bungalow. ! Great stay and place. The overflowing trash at the street was eyesore. But thats not the property’s fault. But an additional garage container at the road would be beneficial.

Everything was great. Good deal. Short walk to the beach. Comfy bed. My only constructive criticism is that a 10 am check out felt a little early. 11 am would have given a relaxing cushion. Overall great experience.

Great location, mediocre property

This property is a nice location, close to the beach and just over a mile from downtown to walk to restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, the property itself had several issues. The water pressure in the shower was very poor, the toilet didn't always flush and the sink plugged up. The dishwasher leaked so we couldn't use that. There were no batteries in the TV remote in the bedroom. The outside of the property was quite rundown. We've stayed in several VRBOs across the USA, and this one was the most disappointing. Perfect for Us!

The location and proximity to the beach was exactly what we wanted.. about a 400yd walk to a nice beach area that wasn't crowded at all.. we had our ebikes also which was a huge commodity.. we rode them into town every time so neither parking or traffic was an issue.. There were quite a few people on bikes and golf carts.. There was a nice dog park a couple mins away that was perfect for us to b able to enjoy the beach and also get our dog some exercise.. dogs allowed on the beach before 10am and after 6pm.. This place is exactly what u want when u hear the words beach bungalow.. Felt nice and homey right away

Great location, great everything - but heads up to dog owners

This was a lovely little rental that was a very short walk to a quiet beach (quiet in March; maybe it gets busy in July but I'm certain it's never TOO bad). Anyway, my wife and I looked for a place that would allow dogs but also that was a "single building", meaning it didn't share walls with any occupied space as our dog is a wonderful animal, but a rough "before-us" upbringing left her with some real anxiety issues over things like strangers, loud noises, other dogs, etc. SO this rental seemed perfect for us. HOWEVER the main bedroom shares it's left wall with the entrance for a separate unit that you can hear people walking through every now and again - it's not super loud or anything, and if it had just been my wife and I, I would have forgotten about it already, but it definitely freaked our dog out. It's hard to tell from the photos, but there is a second door off to the left that goes to a separate apartment. And additionally, the next house over from this rental often left their dog off leash to wander around the cul-de-sac where the road dead ends, which is fine with me since no cars go there and it's essentially their front yard BUT taking our dog out for a walk became a real "okay wait...wait...okay now go!" type of thing. And of course when cul-de-sac dog saw us, she wanted to come say hi which only elicits barking and fear from our dog. Kind of a mess. I'm not interested in blaming anyone or deciding someone is at fault, I just want to let anyone with skittish or emotionally worried dogs that this rental has a couple small hiccups, but very specific ones. If your dog is friendly and likes attention (canine or otherwise) you'll be fine here.
