About this property
Charlemont Chalet - A 15 Acre Private Retreat
The Charlemont Chalet is designed for those who crave serenity, mountain air, and a touch of rustic luxury. Here's a quick summary of what makes this place so special. Secluded on 15 private acres, halfway up a mountain in Charlemont but close to nature and fun activities. The chalet is spacious, stylish and designed for your comfort. Less than 2 miles to Zoar's Outdoor and close to Berkshire East, Shelburn Falls, North Adams (Mass Moca) west on the Mohawk Trail or Greenfield on the east. This Charlemont Chalet is perfectly sited on 15 acres offering complete privacy with stunning mountain views. The open kitchen is the heart of the retreat and has all top of the line stainless steel appliances. You will enjoy using the oven, the microwave, the oversized refrigerator, the luxurious cherry cabinets and oh so much space to create your culinary experience. The bar seating invites conversations, convenience while having a quick bite. For those whose work always follows, there's a dedicated office area tucked away on the main floor so while you work you can enjoy the view and check out the festivities on the deck or at the firepit. There are 2 ensuite bedrooms on the second floor. The master is spacious and has a sitting area, and a large walk in closet that spans the entire width of the chalet. There's a third bedroom on the main level with a full size bed and a 1/2 bath and a washer/dryer just off the living room for your convenience. The chalet is the ultimate vacation getaway for those who love the mountains and country living. Enjoy time on the expansive deck, or sitting around the firepit making a campfire and s’mores. Harvest farm fresh organic vegetables and herbs grown out of our own 3 season green house. We have tomatoes, cucumbers and squash in the summer and fresh herbs all year round! Walk in the woods or down to the charming/rustic chic Shed! Charlemont is Western Massachusetts mecca for outdoor adventurers; Summer fun includes fly fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, and tubing down the Deerfield River. Mountain biking, zip lining, and coaster rides at Berkshire East. Hiking the many trails, including Mt Greylock. Enjoy a visit to Mass Moca just 30 min away, or the Clark Art in Williamstown. Whatever you do make sure you visit Mo’s Fudge Factory and the Bridge of Flowers in the charming Shelburn Falls! In the winter months enjoy skiing and snow tubing at Berkshire East, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing the many area hiking trails. Guest access You will be given a code that unlocks the main entry door under the deck in the lower level by noon on check in day. You will have access to the entire house and the property including the 3 season green house. If there is anything in the fridge or pantry you want to use you may help yourself. If you’re using the last of anything, kindly let the host know or replace it. Other things to note The Charlemont Chalet is located halfway up the Hawk's mountain in rural massachustts. In the winter (esp when it snows) you need an SUV with AWD (All Wheel Drive) or 4-wheel drive car to get to us. The Chalet sits up a windy (beautiful) driveway. If you find yourself driving a car with summer tires and can’t make it up the hill please park near the rustic shed halfway up the driveway and walk up. Wayne will plow multiple times during a snowstorm so you will be able to get in/ out. We also have shovels and sand (in buckets) by the entrance door (under the deck) and near the shed. There’s enough parking for 3 cars in the driveway and additional cars at the Chic Shed. If you need storage for your canoes, snow mobiles or other sporting equipment please let us know. We will provide the key to the shed for your use. Dogs are warmly welcomed (Please be sure to let us know and pay the pet charge so we can inform the cleaner in advance). We will also provide a dog kennel and dog bowls for your 4 legged pal. Guest access You will be able to access the entire chalet (indoor and out) Guests have total privacy and are invited to enjoy the produce from the green house. Currently there are plenty of tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and lots of arugula. We live nearby although we wish to give guests total privacy. We’re available to answer questions via phone or text.
