Racist area

Had no idea we’d be staying in a racist area. The looks the stares the police being called on my kids because they were invited to play basketball at the hotel across the street by two Caucasian kids ( us being a mixed race family of all shades and colors ) I mean it was just absolutely ridiculous. The trump signs being plastered on all the boats or outside the homes ( not saying all trumpers are racist, but let’s be real here) we will not be returning to Topsail ever again. The home itself was ok. A little dated on the outside. Door entry way wasn’t the easiest to open with the code. Bathrooms were tight. Bottom floor bedrooms were nice. Even had a balcony. 2nd floor was living and kitchen. It was spacious. Ants did like the kitchen sink. The balcony was lovely. Had a one person canoe to the lake around back. It was beautiful. Kids enjoyed that. Top floor was another bedroom. Bathroom was so small once you exited the shower, you were met with the toilet. Which was a tiny toilet btw. The mattress and mattress cover OMG so disgusting. I had to purchase my own bedding. Overall it was an ok trip.

Beach was amazing but the people were RACISTS

We are a very blended family. North Topsail is predominantly a white area. While we tried not to let that keep us from visiting, we still encountered police being called on our kids, stares, complete rudeness. It was shocking to see In 2025. Countless Trump support and signs. Not to say all Trump supporters are racists but come on now, that’s what he stands for. The house itself was 7/10. The WiFi was horrible. The top floor bathroom was so small, once you exited the shower you were immediately greeted by the small toilet. The mattress was so disgusting. The mattress cover was also dirty. Dried blood was on the top bedspread. I had to Instacart my own sheets. Bathroom trash bins had no bags in them. They needed to be cleaned. The Pots/pans etc were only dishwashed, which isn’t good. Food was left on them. The kitchen sink made a home for Ants. The knives were sticky. Rooms were a good size. Downstairs bathrooms could be bigger. Backyard was the best part. The one person boats for the inlet were amazing. The Backyard balcony views were so beautiful as well.
