Private Pickleball Retreat, Seating for Everyone, 2 Hot Tubs, Games, Deer
Arrive under the trees, soak in the quiet, and watch deer while you sip a hot beverage from the coffee bar. At Deer Run Lodge, you get two fully equipped homes connected by a sunroom—space to gather when you want, and privacy when you need. Spend the day playing pickleball on the regulation court, grill on the deck, soak in 2 hot tubs, then end by the fire pit beneath the stars. Though it feels secluded, you’re minutes from restaurants, the Fox River, and less than 15 minutes from Raging Waves.
What’s here (both sides together)
2 complete living spaces (Cabin + Guest Quarters) joined by a sunroom *2 kitchens with stainless appliances, quartz counters, spices, and an “over-the-top” coffee bar (Keurig, kettle, grinder, starter supplies) *King beds throughout (guests love the comfort); quality linens and plenty of towels *Fast, easy entertainment: Roku TVs, indoor/outdoor games, and a classic Pac-Man arcade *Laundry in each side with detergent, iron & board *Well water treated + reverse osmosis drinking tap *Central heat/AC in all spaces; wood-burning stoves available seasonally with host approval
Layout at a glance
Log Cabin (sleeps up to 6): *Living room with electric-reclining sectionals + Roku TV on adjustable mount *Kitchen + dining for 6 (plus 2 at island) *3 upstairs king bedrooms, 2 full baths (main: shower; upper: tub/shower + double sinks) *Front porch with swing & rockers
Guest Quarters (great single-level option): *Living room seating for up to 8; Roku TV + surround sound *Kitchen + dining for 6 *King bedroom with slider to private deck + 5-person hot tub (lounger) *Queen pull-out in living room; dedicated work space with backyard view *1 bath (shower), in-unit laundry
Sunroom (between both): *Climate-controlled, comfy seating, Roku TV, game/puzzle table *Views through a wall of windows—guests call it peaceful and relaxing *Queen pull-out sofa bed
Outdoors you’ll love *Two hot tubs: 7-person at the cabin deck + 5-person at the guest-quarters deck *Regulation-size pickleball court (Sport Court surface) *Fire pit with complimentary firewood & skewers *Gazebo with fire table; multiple seating areas for wildlife watching *Frequent sightings: deer, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, the occasional ground hog
Things to note:
*Stairs & kiddos: The cabin’s top stair tread is shallower; railings may not suit tiny explorers. Families often place those needing single-level living in the Guest Quarters. *Cameras disclosed: Exterior security cameras face entry/yard areas (including hot-tub zones) for safety, maintenance timing, and guest privacy—so we don’t interrupt you. *Road: Private unpaved access road; drive slowly (especially with low-clearance cars). *Parking: Limited; typically up to 7 vehicles depending on size and parking order—see photos for layout. *Age & verification: Primary guest 25+; Truvi (formerly Superhog) ID verification within 24 hours of booking. *Booking guest must sign rental agreement and provide credit card for $500 security deposit within 24 hours of booking. *Visitors: Must be pre-approved; fees may apply. *The last 0.3 miles of the drive in is on a dirt road. Due to some sections of that road only being 1 lane wide and the pot holes that develop after a rain, you will want to drive slowly and be ready to yield to oncoming traffic. The circular driveway is paved.
Wood Burning Stove:
Available only when outdoor temps allow—please confirm with host. Wood Burning Stove Package costs $99 per stover for lighting and cleaning. $45 per cart of wood. Package must be ordered at least one day before arrival.

We had an amazing stay at this cabin. It was absolutely beautiful — peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully set up. The hot tub was a huge highlight and the perfect way to relax after a long day. Everything about the space felt welcoming and well cared for. We’d 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
Everything was great. Clean, all amenities working, good communication.

About the host
Your host
My husband Ken and I love to work together. We got our real estate licenses together and then expanded into Run Rentals—our vacation rental business. We’ve moved a lot over the years and have kept busy with various home improvement projects. We love trees and being out in nature so we jumped at the opportunity to buy acreage with a log cabin and then decided to rent out our property to people looking to get away to recharge and relax.
