About this property
Charming NEW Tiny Home, Private Setting, 2 Minutes from Valleyview Venue
A charming and cozy new custom-built tiny home. The "Carriage House" is conveniently located east of Newport, TN on a state highway. It is situated by itself on two acres of private mostly-forested land with a private driveway. Within ten minutes of Interstate 40 and twenty minutes from Douglas Lake. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and all they have to offer are within an hour's drive.
Comfortable, inviting and perfect for two, with a queen bed and full bathroom. Spacious and functional kitchen with apartment-size fridge and induction cooktop.
Enjoy a short walk in the wildflower meadow that surrounds the tiny home on three sides or enjoy a coffee while sitting and hearing the birds and frogs sing, from the front porch. In spring, summer and fall enjoy the new flowers as they come to life and bloom. You may even see a deer or two, as they pass through the property.
This cute little place has lots of natural light from many windows. Each window has a pulldown blind for privacy, the front door also has blinds on it as well.
Upon stepping into the tiny house from the 2- step front porch, you will see a full kitchen on the left with all common kitchen necessities including, coffee maker, apartment-size fridge with small freezer, induction cooktop to accommodate two pots or pans, small microwave and large farm-style sink. The cupboards and drawers contain utensils, dishware and glasses, mugs etc. for four. All common cooking utensils are provided as well as two rolls of paper towels and kitchen towels. A large pot, a sauce pan, colander, mixing bowls and cutting board are provided as well. A wall table can be set up at the end of the kitchen and folding chairs are in the washing machine closet. This provides dining seating for two or can be used as a workstation etc.
On the right and with a sliding barn door for privacy is a compact, but full bathroom. Small sink, shower and commode. Bath towels and other bathroom necessities can be found in the bathroom. Extra bath tissue and towels can be found in another location, please see arrival email for this information.
The bedroom area is at the back of the home with a new queen bed, Smart TV and chair.
As you drive up the gravel driveway, above the highway, you will see an area with two different parking options for one vehicle. It is possible to fit two vehicles, but turning around is tricky if there is more than one.
This tiny house is the second property that I have available for guests. The other is located in Greeneville, Tennesse about a 45-minute drive from Newport. This little tiny house and the property it is on, has been a work in progress for a few years and is still very much a work in progress. Yes I am still fighting back weeds and working on landscaping. I hope to be able to provide a hot tub and more outdoor space in the near future. I look forward to having you as my guest and hope you come to love this little place as much as I do.
Things to note:
This house is tiny, tiny (160 square feet total). It is adorable and cozy and I have tried my best to decorate and furnish it with your comfort in mind. If you feel uncomfortable staying in a small space, or sharing it with another person, then this may not be the place for you. :)
This house is located off of and above a two-lane state highway, and road noise can be heard at times, please consider this when booking. A bypass is under construction and will help lessen traffic, but it is not completed yet.

About the host
Hosted by Becky
I have been a host since 2019 and was involved with my parent's VRBO for a few years before then. I enjoy traveling, I have been to every state in the U.S., except for two and to ten countries, and I also really like houses. I like to fix them up and decorate them for my guests. :) I hope you enjoy your stay in my house, because I designed it with you in mind.
Why they chose this property
This is my second VRBO home. I have had one in Greenville, TN since 2019 and thanks to a very generous friend, who left me her home, I was able to invest in a second property. This is one of the most beautiful pieces of property that I have seen in East Tennessee and I always admired it when driving through the area. When it came up for sale, I purchased it sight unseen, while I was traveling, with the help of my real estate agent/friend. I did not realize until I tried to start developing it, that it is essentially a giant slab of limestone with a bit of dirt here and there. After about two years of failed attempts to get approval and getting contractors to complete work for me, I was finally able to put a tiny house here. After this summer, I think I have decided that the vegetation is taking two steps forward while I battle it back one step, but I have made progress and hope to make more as time goes on. I know how I want the property to look, but I just have to get there. :) I hope you enjoy this little oasis, as much as I do.
What makes this property unique
This tiny house is in a private setting, by itself. It is surrounded by nature with birds and frogs singing, deer sometimes passing through and bees and butterflies enjoying all the flowers. The tiny house, although small is a work of craftsmanship on the inside, and furnished with comfort in mind.
