However, I’m very disappointed by the misleading elements of your review, which largely stem from your assertion of being “ideal guests” who knew Exuma well in order to secure this booking. Instead of engaging in a discussion about your planned stay, you made assumptions, declined my offers of information, and apparently did no research—leading to unrealistic expectations. Your assertion that there were “bugs everywhere” reflects a lack of basic knowledge about no-see-ums, which occur throughout the Bahamas, Florida, and the Caribbean, principally at dawn and dusk. We provide detailed guidance on minimizing their impact, which was evidently ignored. All of the beds are standard North American queen-sized beds from Pottery Barn, exactly as described in our listing. The second house is also depicted accurately. While one air conditioner did fail unexpectedly, we replaced it on the second day of your stay with minimal disruption and at your convenience. In January’s mild temperatures, the remaining AC unit alone was more than sufficient. Tropic of Cancer Beach is renowned worldwide and, in addition to its expansive shoreline, is typically calmer than other areas with rental accommodations like Tar Bay or the Cut. Naturally, wave action varies with weather and tides. Your disappointment in these normal variations again suggests insufficient research or understanding of the island’s conditions. As noted, our staff are incredibly accommodating. It is unfortunate that, despite their efforts to assist you, they were subjected to rude and demanding behavior, as well as property damage that required repairs. I regret my lapse in accepting your claims of being seasoned, ideal guests at face value.
