About this property
Historic 1br King Bed Walk downtown 5min to beach
Summary:
Hardwood floors, large windows and original woodwork give this home old-world charm and there's a king bedroom, large bath, separate living and kitchen areas! Enjoy this charming one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of this unique 1926 Spanish Colonial with a private entrance. On a quiet, neighborly street, the Lincoln Guest House is within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shops and the Indian River. Central location close to US1, Indialantic beaches are just over the causeway.
The Space:
With a bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen, we have worked to provide modern comforts and all the amenities you’ll need for your stay in this 650 sq ft space. The 1926 building underwent an extensive renovation in 2015 to modernize the major systems while maintaining the beauty and original features of the property. Hardwood floors, large windows and original woodwork give this home old-world charm!
Unit A is on the 1st floor with a private entrance off the foyer inside the front door. When not out exploring the area, there’s is a large screen TV in the living room and lots of cozy seating and Roku TV with cable and Netflix. A large sectional couch is very comfortable for with a pull out full bed if needed. Large windows provide tons of natural light, but furnished with blinds for shade and privacy. Doors close off the bedroom from the other living areas. The kitchen is simple, but all the basics are included.
You will be staying in a renovated 1926 Spanish Colonial Revival building steps from Historic Downtown Melbourne. Only three blocks from Historic Downtown Melbourne where an eclectic array of art, culture, cuisine and boutique shopping await you. The Indialantic beaches are only three miles away.
Guest Access:
There are four one-bedroom units in the Lincoln Guest House. Other guests are likely to be onsite, but your own entry and large front and back yard offer privacy and separation.
The Neighborhood:
This charming 1br apartment is located in an older, historical neighborhood with neighbors that take great pride in their street and community. It is a great location for business travelers, vacationers and Florida Institute of Technology visitors.
What's Nearby: two-and-a-half miles to the Melbourne International Airport and Florida Institute of Technology; three miles to the Indialantic beaches; 20 miles to Cocoa Beach and the original Ron Jon Surf Shop; close to all the engineering companies and less than a mile to Holmes Regional Medical Center and Wells Park
Attractions: 14 miles to the Brevard Zoo; 18 miles to the USSSA Space Coast Stadium; 25 miles to Port Canaveral; 47 miles to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex; two-hour drive to Disney, other Orlando theme parks and Daytona Beach
Getting Around:
Besides walking, biking and car, Space Coast Area Transit bus stops to the beaches and other downtown Melbourne areas are two blocks away. The Melbourne International Airport is just a short drive; both Uber and/or Lyft serve Melbourne and surrounding areas.
Other Things to Note:
There are four one-bedroom units in the building; you may occasionally hear other guests. Although only a couple blocks from downtown, the street is residential, so please respect our quiet hours. Off-street parking for one vehicle/unit behind the house is available. Beware, the archway over the driveway is narrow. A van or SUV is fine but please go very slowly under the archway; you may need to fold in the mirrors. Additional street parking for a second vehicle or larger trucks/vans is available on the other side of the street. The exterior of the building is monitored by 24-hour surveillance – which we’ve never had to use – but adds an extra level of security. There is a train that runs through downtown Melbourne and can be heard in the late evening and early morning hours. A floor fan is available in the unit if white noise is needed for light sleepers.
Interaction with Guests:
Host is usually not onsite but available anytime to provide tips or recommendations to help you enjoy the best of Melbourne and the Space Coast.
