Let’s start with the moment you pay your money to VRBO. Right after booking this place, I was sent a link to register with the apartment complex. They sent me a renters form like I was staying for a year instead of a weekend. The paperwork was ridiculous. But I was already committed. Next, the day of my arrival they sent me a text saying I could get in at 3 and instructions to do so; Standard stuff like the lockbox for the key outside the building. At 6, (I was still traveling) I received a text saying the cleaning crew was running late and they would text me when my place was ready. At 9pm I still hadn’t received a “ok ready” text. I went over anyway. The lock box outside was wide open with no key inside. I called the management office and got Alfred. Poor Alfred. He tried to help but was not in the building and apparently had never been there. The instructions they gave said once inside the building, get off on the second floor and go left. It was actually right. And to get to the apartment I was supposed to go to floor 3, not 2. EVERY INSTRUCTION they gave was wrong. The building is several buildings connected by bridges. It’s a total maze with old cowboy posters holding Winchester guns. Because of this and having never been there it took TWO HOURS at 9 pm to find this apartment. I finally found the apartment only to discover the apartment had been left unlocked and the keys on the counter. The dryer was still running with the towels and sheets inside. Don’t do it!!
