About this property
Spectacular Views On A Pristine Lake, Home sits at the waters edge for best view
3 bedroom, 1.5 bath house for rent on Kingsley Lake with spectacular view of the lake. Sleeps 6 comfortably. Dishwasher, small washer/dryer and cable tv included. House sits at the water's edge with large glassed-in porch and there is a large covered dock included. Kingsley lake is conveniently located 30 minutes from Jacksonville, FL and 45 minutes from Gainesville, FL. It is the perfect place for a family getaway, girls weekend or a great place to stay for the Florida Gator games due to its proximity to the University of Florida.
A public boat ramp is not available at this time. There is no public access to Kingsley Lake to launch your boat in the water unless you have military access at Camp Blanding which is on the lake. If you are military you will need to confirm the process for launching your boat in the lake directly with them. If you are able to launch your boat with your military access you can tie it up to the side of the dock, but there is no boat lift at the house for boat storage. For more information please contact us.
Kingsley Lake, six miles east of Starke, Florida, is steeped in history and geological significance, as well as being one of the most popular recreational spots in Northeast Florida.
Kingsley Lake is the oldest and highest lake in Florida, being perched on the eastern slope of Trail Ridge, which was the first part of the Florida peninsula to emerge above sea level in the Pleistocene era. Geologists also believe that it was formed as a giant sink hole (over 90 feet deep at its deepest point).
It is also the most stable lake in the North Central Florida area, according to U.S. Geological Survey data, seldom fluctuating more than 16 to 18 inches in measurements above sea level. The water remains delightfully cool during the summer months, since it is fed by countless underground springs around the shore, as well as in the lake itself.
Kingsley Lake is 5.5 miles around the shore line, and 2 miles across in all directions. It covers approximately 2,000 acres, according to Starke surveyor M. G. McMillan.
