For more information please contact us. Kingsley Lake, six miles east of Starke, Florida, is steeped in history and geological significance, as well as being one of the most popular recreational spots in Northeast Florida. Kingsley Lake is the oldest and highest lake in Florida, being perched on the eastern slope of Trail Ridge, which was the first part of the Florida peninsula to emerge above sea level in the Pleistocene era. Geologists also believe that it was formed as a giant sink hole (over 90 feet deep at its deepest point). It is also the most stable lake in the North Central Florida area, according to U.S. Geological Survey data, seldom fluctuating more than 16 to 18 inches in measurements above sea level. The water remains delightfully cool during the summer months, since it is fed by countless underground springs around the shore, as well as in the lake itself. Kingsley Lake is 5.5 miles around the shore line, and 2 miles across in all directions. It covers approximately 2,000 acres, according to Starke surveyor M. G. McMillan.

Location is everything and we greatly enjoyed our stay at this property, directly on the lake! The house was clean and extremely well-appointed with just about everything you might need during your stay. The house and furnishings are a bit rustic, which may not be to everyone's preference, but it's what I expect at Kingsley Lake and as long as you calibrate your expectations properly you'll have a great time. The kids (and adults) had a blast, thanks for a great stay!
Kingsley Lake never disappoints! The Schnauss House provided a comfortable place to stay when we weren't in the lake. The sunroom over the lake with the great views is where we spent most of our inside time. The covered area at the end of the dock was a perfect place to have morning coffee or watch the sun set in the evening.
We absolutely loved this place! Great swimming and boating area, wonderful views from the house, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of sleeping spaces. Just all around great experience. Like a step back in time but a little decorating updating would be good, get rid of the dusty hydrangea decor!! Loved the boat and dock area hung out a lot at night, loved the lights!
When I first saw the property I wasn't sure if our family of 5 would comfortably fit but I was wrong. This place is spacious, clean, and perfect for swimming and fishing! We caught 3 bass and about 15 brim right off the dock. The owners were so easy to Communicate with and very responsive! You won't be disappointed!
This property is very unique and in a good way. The house is old but has so much character! Made me think I was at my grandma's or aunts house in a good way. Brought back some good memories as a kid. The screen door in the kitchen how it slammed (everything today has a spring so it doesnt slam) brought back memories orlf my grandma's house. The glass room and dock are where we hung out the most. Paddle boards and kayak were our favs. Fishing was really good! Saw a huge bass (no luck) but caught 50 or more brim right off the dock. Has a little beach area to get in or 2 sets of steps which were really nice to have. Ladder at the end of the dock to get out of the water as well. The bed in the master bedroom was amazing! I normally do not sleep well away from home but I slept like a baby. Location is amazing. We will be back next summer wish i could afford to go back again this year! We watched the thunderstorms roll in from the glass room and it's just so peaceful! Needs a few updates but wouldn't stop me from coming back if it wasn't updated! Oh the fridge has an ice maker that produces lots of ice and water is very good! I've been to newer places that the ice maker doesn't work then I have to go buy ice. Things I would suggest is there is a lot of furniture everywhere. But we did love looking at it all. There's a weird smell and taste like metallic in the shower may just be the water out there but didn't taste it when we cooked or brushed our teeth.
My family and I stayed at the location for our week vacation. Check in and check process was super easy. The house sits right on the water with lots of beautiful views.
Everything we expected and more. Hypnotic sunrises and sunsets.
Lots of fish, birds and convenient location. Responsive owner delt with a water issue quickly and painlessly. Quiet and secluded plenty of everything you would need in the house. Nice neighbors and a very handy and fun Kayak. Front driveway fairy tale, beautiful trees, and nice neighbors. Looking down at the water from the bed every morning with two couples of ducks waiting for you to feed them.
We loved the house and lake. It was a perfect week.
The house was fully stocked with everything you could need. The beds were very comfortable. Listening to the water under the huse as you fall asleep is amazing.
We enjoyed our stay in your home. Our vacation was last minute and we appreciate the accommodations. I grew up on this lake and it was so nice to go back. I wish there was a public boat ramp for the lake. We did lots of fishing, swimming, and enjoying family time.
Enjoyed the stay but some rooms need to be decluttered
We enjoyed the stay. But need to clean out some items:
old newspapers on refrigerator
3 vacuums in master bedroom
Thank you

A beautiful location to relax and unwind.
The pictures don't do this home justice. The views are spectacular. The home doesnt look like much from the outside, but wait until you are in the sun room or watch the sun rise from your bed. The home is comfortable and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds are comfortable, tons of reading material around the house as well. If you are looking for a prim and proper hotel experience then go elsewhere. Come here to relax, unwind, grill a little, fish a little and feed the ducks. We will return.

Relaxing Family Vacation
The owner allowed us to use the canoe located on the property! There were bags of ice in the freezer, paper plates, plastic forks and napkins there for us already. They have real plates and silverware, but who wants to do dishes on vacation. The bath towels provided were brand new. The water is so clear that our daughters had fun watching the fish and swimming with them. We surprised our girls with mermaid tails and they had a blast the entire time splashing in the water! We cannot wait to come back!
